PART A: GENERIC TEST SCHEDULE

If earth is existing, then earth measurement is to be done, if not feasible, a certificate from planning along with last reading (within six months) to be taken

If existing, required temp. and humidity conditions are to ensured as per node requirement.

ANNEXURE 1 BROAD BAND NETWORK GATEWAY
Test No:1 Power Supply Module Redundancy
Diagram
Procedure 1. Connect the BNG with the power supply units. Switch ON both power inputs to the BNG using MCB’s.
2. Attach a PC to the management port of the BNG.
3. Ping the Management IP of the BNG from the PC.
4. Switch off one power supply of BNG, by switching off one MCB in PDP or using the switch, on the power supply unit. Ping will not be disturbed.
5. Switch on the power supply and repeat this process with the other power supply as well.

Procedure 1) Connect a laptop/PC to the BNG using console 2) Login using Username and Password 3) Check the status of the Controller Cards 4) Connect the GE port of the card to the L3PE (or to PC
through Converter if Network not available) 5) Configure the BNG port with an IP Address and the L3PE /
PC with another IP of the same subnet. 6) Start a ping L3PE / PC to the BNG. 7) Using the console login issue the command “reload switch-
over” in BNG 8) The ping will continue after switch-over
Note: Primarily XCRP in slot no 7 is master and that in slot number 8 is slave. To test the failover mechanism use the following command: reload switch-over Now XCRP in slot 8 is the master and that in slot 7 is the slave.

Procedure 1) Connect to the BNG 2) Type the following command:
show log [active | file filename] [all | fac log-fac-name | tdm-console ] [level level] [since start-time] [until end-time] Displays information about system event logs or a previously saved log file. Moreover , when we enter the reload command from the command-line interface (CLI), or a reboot command from the bootrom, the system copies its log and debug buffers into these two special files: /md/loggd_dlog.bin and /md/loggd_ddbg.bin. As an aid to debugging, we can display these files using the show log command: show log file /md/loggd_dlog.bin show log file /md/loggd_ddbg.bin

2) The following is the commands to take back up: Save config [device | URL ] filename Eg save config /flash/redback.cfg
3) To copy a file to the external drive , use : copy /flash/redback.cfg /md/redback.cfg
4) To copy a file back to flash:

5) To Remove a file:

with another IP of the same subnet. 4. Check the LED status of the GE port. Check the status from Console. Use command : Show Port 5. Start a ping L3PE / PC to the BNG.

Procedure 1. Set up Switch with two PWIN cards
2. Connect PC to Console Port
3. Ping to Switch’s self IP
3. Pull out one PWIN card, observe the ping is still working.
