PAGE 1 TERM 3 WEEK 5 Last week was a really busy and successful week for our students and staff at Windale PS. GREAT AUSSIE BUSH CAMP Our Stage 3 students have returned from their excursion to the Great Aussie Bush Camp and loved every minute of the experience. Thanks must go to Ms Carter, Mrs McBay and Barry who gave up me with their families over the three days and two nights to allow this to happen. We are currently looking into the cost of a Stage 3 excursion to Canberra next year as we did in 2017 so that we can find out from families if they are interested in this occurring and an approximate cost. We will also be doing the same for our Stage 2 excursion for 2019. EVACUATION DRILLS AND LOCKDOWN As you would be aware, as part of our Work Health and Safety procedures, schools are required to hold regular drills for evacuaons and lockdowns within each term in case an emergency should occur. As a result of each drill, we look at what procedures are in place and make any necessary adjustments for the future to ensure the safety of all people on our site. For us this has included the addion of a new sound system across the school to ensure bells can be heard as well as our new phone system. Up unl now, we have nofied parents via Facebook when we are going to hold these drills so that our families, parcularly those living close to the school, are not worried when they hear the alarms going off or seeing all the gates being locked. From now on we will not be doing this as we need to start preparing our community in case an emergency occurred as we would not be able to give advance warning then. We thank you for understanding why we need to do this. P&C BBQ BUNNINGS – SATURDAY 25TH AUGUST Our P&C have been lucky enough to secure another BBQ Fundraiser this Saturday at Bunnings Belmont from 8am – 4pm and would be grateful of any community members who could volunteer some me to help out on the day. Even an hour or so would be fantasc. Money raised at events such as this go towards supporng our families by lowering the costs for excursions so please help out if you can. As always we thank our dedicated volunteers for everything that they do to make Windale PS the wonderful school that it is. Have a terrific week of learning everyone! GREAT AUSSIE BUSH CAMP

Our Stage 3 students have returned from

their excursion to the Great Aussie Bush

Camp and loved every minute of the

experience. Thanks must go to Ms

Carter, Mrs McBay and Barry who gave

up time with their families over the three

days and two nights to allow this to

happen. We are currently looking into

the cost of a Stage 3 excursion to

Canberra next year as we did in 2017 so

that we can find out from families if they

are interested in this occurring and an

approximate

cost. We will

also be doing

the same for

our Stage 2

excursion for

2019.

EVACUATION DRILLS AND LOCKDOWN

As you would be aware, as part of our

Work Health and Safety procedures,

schools are required to hold regular drills

for evacuations and lockdowns within

each term in case an emergency should

occur. As a result of each drill, we look at

what procedures are in place and make

any necessary adjustments for the future

to ensure the safety of all people on our

site. For us this has included the addition

of a new sound system across the school

to ensure bells can be heard as well as

our new phone system. Up until now, we

have notified parents via Facebook when

we are going to hold these drills so that

our families, particularly those living

close to the school, are not worried

when they hear the alarms going off or

seeing all the gates being locked. From

now on we will not be doing this as we

need to start preparing our community

in case an emergency occurred as we

would not be able to give advance

warning then. We thank you for

understanding why we need to do this.

P&C BBQ BUNNINGS – SATURDAY 25TH

AUGUST

Our P&C have

been lucky

enough to secure another BBQ

Fundraiser this Saturday at Bunnings

Belmont from 8am – 4pm and would be

grateful of any community members

who could volunteer some time to help

out on the day. Even an hour or so would

be fantastic. Money raised at events

As always we thank our dedicated

volunteers for everything that they do to

make Windale PS the wonderful school

that it is.

Have a terrific week of learning

everyone!

Friday netball saw the Junior team have a great

game against Mt Hutton with a good win. Special

mention to Nicole Hodges for her great defence

during the game. Seniors had a tough game

against St.Mary’s. St.Mary’s were too strong on

the day. Special mention to Elle who also had a

great defensive game.

In summerly conditions both the

Juniors and Seniors Football

teams played great football

against strong opposition.

The Juniors played against

Eleebana and Wiripanng showing

great defence and playing

strong, open football. Players of

the match awards went to Bianca and Charlie. Special men-

tion to Cody who is improving so much every week.

The Seniors played a strong

against Floraville. Players of the

match awards went to Connor and

Bradley. A big thank you to Mt

Hutton Public school for filling in

with the Seniors who were short a

couple of players.

Again a big, big thank you to super

coaches Luke and Tim who both

do a fabulous job with both

teams.
