HOSPITALITY August 18, 2019 20h Sunday in Ordinary Time

The most vibrant stewardship parishes are those in which parishioners know that they are wel-

come, which fosters a sense of ownership and personal involvement in living stewardship in the parish family.

Living Stewardship In today’s second reading, St. Paul encourages us

not to grow weary or lose heart, but to persevere in following Jesus. Our willingness to give of our-

FORMATION August 18, 2019 20th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Bishop Ryan Catholic School News

We’re Hiring! Are you called to be part of something special in Catholic education? Bishop Ryan may be the place for you! We are seeking applications for Latin instructors at the middle school and high school level, and a School Special Edu-

cation Strategist for the 2019-2020 School year. For more information or to apply for these positions, please contact Chase Lee, (701) 838-3355 or [email protected]. Amazing things are going on in the hallways and classrooms of Bishop Ryan Catholic School, and our faculty and staff have distinct opportunities to instill virtue and celebrate faith while encouraging our stu-dents to achieve academically and socially. \ Looking for A Great Year of Pre-school? Bishop Ryan Catholic School still has availa-bility for the 2019-2020 school year in our Preschool and Kindergarten Readiness classes! Preschool children must be bathroom-trained and three-years-old by July 31, 2019 for the two-day and three-day half-day clas-ses, or four-years-old by July 31, 2019 for the five-day half-day classes. Our program includes fun and learning, music class, physical education, library time, and learning in an en-vironment of virtue and faith. For more information or to visit the school, please email [email protected], or call Jaimie, (701) 838-3355. Remember to use Scrip gift cards for your purchases or as gifts. Many local businesses participate in the Scrip program, along with many nationwide. (A nation-al list is on our website www.bishopryan.com) Sup-port these business with your shopping and pay with gift cards. They, in turn, support Bishop Ryan Catholic School and families with the rebates earned off of the cards. Using gift cards instead of credit cards protects you from credit card fraud. Scrip doesn’t cost any extra money; you spend the dollar amount you pay for. Using Scrip helps Minot and MAFB children receive a Catholic education. Scrip gift cards are available after the weekend Masses, in the parish office during the week and in the Bishop Ryan Administration Office. Our Family UPCs Bishop Ryan is collecting these grocery UPCs. Please place them in the Campbell’s basket by the office entrance.

Dakota Hope Clinic NEW SUPPORT GROUP! “Embrace Grace,” a support group for young, single

pregnant women, will start in August at Our Redeemer’s Church. The primary goal is to empower churches across the

nation to be a safe and non-judging place for the girls to run to when they find out they are pregnant, instead of the last place they are welcomed because of shame and guilt. One way OUR CHURCH can get involved is to start our own “Embrace Grace” group or host a “Share the Love” event where church volunteers as-semble Love Boxes. These boxes are distributed to pregnancy centers like Dakota Hope to inspire hope and impart love to women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. A promo video explains more and would be a great way to rally our church to support the young, single, pregnant women in our community. For more infor-mation call: Amber Vibeto, 701-340-6378, Margaret Schempp, 837-9662, is our Dakota Hope ambassador.

Trent Horn, Guest Speaker - Sept. 16 Trent Horn, guest speaker at the Dakota Hope Fund-raising Banquet, has had a passion since the age of 17 for explaining and defending the Faith. With more than a decade of experience, Trent demonstrates with vivid personal examples the im-portance of being charitable in all debates, no matter how intolerant the other side might be. He discusses how we must not only fight for the pro-life cause, but stand as ambassadors for it. The struggle over abortion has never been hotter; the stakes could not be higher. He has a master’s degree in theology and philoso-phy; he is currently pursuing a master’s in bioethics at UMary in Bismarck. He is an adjunct professor of apologetics and the author of seven books, including, “ Persuasive Pro-Life.” He is an on-staff apologist for “Catholic Answers,” a live radio program, in which he converses with athe-ists, pro-choice advocates and many others.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS For us to run our Religious Education Program this year we are in need of teachers, principals and moni-tors for both sessions: Wednesdays at 4:00 and 6:00

pm. If you can help out, please call Monica, 839-7076. Thank You. ~ Monica, Religious Education Dir.
