From Our Pastor On behalf of all the sons and daughters of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, young and old, on this MOTHER’S DAY I extend a heartfelt thank you to all our mothers for everything that you do, and the love that you share. May God shower you with an abundance of His blessings for all of your tireless efforts to shepherd and guide the lives of the children, grandchildren and all of God's children entrusted to your care!

A big congratulations to our 69 FIRST COMMUNICANTS who received Jesus in this Most Holy and Blessed Sacrament for the first time on Saturday, May 4th. May the excitement and joy that you have experienced continue each and every time you receive Jesus in Holy Communion. I extend a heartfelt thank you to the parents, family members, Mrs. Katlyn Lawler, Mrs. Mylene Garcia, and all our teachers and catechists who have faithfully and tirelessly dedicated themselves to preparing our children for the Blessed Sacremant. May God send you an abundance of His blessings for all of your many efforts!

2019 ST. ELIZABETH ANN SETON FIRST COMMUNON CLASS

As we wind down our Religious Education Program for the year, I want to take a moment on behalf of all of us at SEAS to also thank all of our K-12 Catechists, our classroom aids, as well as our RE staff, Katlyn, Mylene and Kathy Lord. Your time, dedication, and faithful witness are deeply appreciated and have, once again, this year, deeply inspired so many, including your pastor! May our Lord richly bless you for all you do for our youth and our entire parish! Christ’s continued grace and blessings to one and all, ~ Fr. Bashista

Weekly Reflection:

The Source of Love

Many people aren’t particularly interested in God. But there is probably no one who is not interested in love. This interest may be distorted—love can be sought where it can’t be found. Still, it is love which, more than anything, occupies us in all that we do and are. Literature, art, theater, movies—everything focuses on love, and it can’t be any other way. The human being has an innate longing for love; to be human is to long for love. God is love. Where love is found, there is God. It is God who stirs this human hunger, and it is God alone who ultimately can satisfy it. Even where God is not known, love between human beings can be deep, true, faithful. In this case, it is divine and has its origin in God. Still, the human heart can never find complete rest until it has come to know the source of love. The source is inexhaustible. In God there is always more love to be had. And it is precisely God’s infinity that can satisfy our hunger for love. No matter how great and beautiful human love may be, it only attains its true value if we have found the origin of love. God will not close our hearts to human love, friendship, tenderness, intimacy. But he will open your heart to the love that will never be extinguished or die, and that love exists in him. FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER “The disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.” (ACTS 13:52) The disciples heard Our Lord’s call and were able to spread the Gospel message with strength and vitality. We, too, can experience that same joy if we make room for the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts. When we use our gifts in the way that God intends, He fills us with supernatural joy. A joy that others notice and are attracted to.

2. Pray with Mary- Dedicate your rosary to praying for voca ons. 3. Pray when You’re Sick-Centuries of tradi on show that offering up our

suffering is a powerful way to pray. 4. Pray with St. Faus na- now known as the “Ambassador of Mercy,” St.

Faus na was remarkably dedicated to praying for priests. 5. Pray with Catholics worldwide- Invisible Monastery is a worldwide community

For this reason, there needs to be a renewed commitment on the part of the whole Church – priests, religious, pastoral workers and educators – to provide young people in par cular with opportuni es for listening and discernment. There is a need for a youth ministry and a voca onal promo on that can open the way to discovering God’s plan, above all through prayer, medita on on God’s word, Eucharis c adora on and spiritual accompaniment." --Pope Francis, World Day of Prayer for Voca ons, 2019.
