Dear Fellow Knitters and Crocheters,

We’ve had a very busy and fun fall. I hopeyou’ve enjoyed some of our special events andclasses. It all began with the Chicago Yarn Crawland our Isager trunk show and swatching class.Most of the designs from Helga Isager’s collectionin K (Knit) are still in the shop. We’ve enjoyedtrunk shows featuring Myak yarns and The FibreCompany’s new yarn Lore. Jan Hurwitz, fromRowan, brought us an evening of the Fall RowanCollection. Last but not least, Arne & Carlos’ fun-filled day of classes and an evening lecture wasvery inspiring!

Looking forward to the Winter Session, thisnewsletter is chock full of classes for all skill levelsof knitters and crocheters! Included are severalArne & Carlos projects: their Teddy Bear knit withsock yarn and their Knitted Birds. Linda has knitsamples so you can see them in the shop. ThePrimrose Throw and other Arne & Carloscrocheted projects are the focus of a class taughtby Suzy.

Jillian returns with another yoke patternedsweater class, Umpqua. Mary is back with herUniform Cardigan class that has been a hugesuccess this fall. It’s a great class for tailoring asweater to your shape and personal style. We’veseen many great versions of this sweater from herstudents. Mary is also offering a class on the Outof Africa coat. This is a very popular design byMarianne Isager but the pattern is a bitchallenging…so Mary will guide you through thoserough patches.

Linda’s Big Baskets and ContinentalKnitting classes are back by popular demand. HerShift class, a cowl by Andrea Mowry, has been ahit and so she’s offering a class on the shawlversion called Nightshift.

Movie Night Mittens is a fun colorful mittenthat Diana will teach. Penny has classes for ashawl, tunic or baby outfit. Chunky pillows eitherknit (taught by Jill) or crocheted (taught byKathy) are on the schedule. Kathy’s adding aSaturday Beginning Crochet class too!

Jill is teaching two shawl classes, Ess andSnowdrift. Both feature interesting stitch work.The Soiree Sweater class with cable detail is alsoon her agenda. Adrienne is offering a class forteens on Thursday afternoons.

We’re planning several trunk shows thiswinter with hand-dye companies. When dates areset we’ll send out a notice.

Linda wi l l guide you through this pattern using some helpful modif ications. OUT of AFRICA by Marianne Isager This is a gorgeous lace-patterned coat that has been a hit among staff and customers a l ike. It is worked from the bottom up. According to Cait l in Hunter, it ’s a great project to take on your next camping tr ip…or not. Payment for classes at time of registration reserves your space in a class. If there are not enough students registered to hold a class, a full refund will be given. A refund less a $10 administrative fee will be given to students withdrawing from a class up to 3 days prior to the class. No refunds will be given after that point. Due to scheduling difficulties, there are no make-up classes.
