    5.1

    hese playing conditions are applicable to all wenty20 nternationals fro 1stctober 2011 and supersede the previous version dated 1st ctober 2010. ncluded inthis version are aendents to clauses 2.1, 2.2.2, 12.4.2, ppendices 6 and 7, and newclauses 37, 42.10 and 42.11.

    Except as varied hereunder the aws of ricket (2000 ode 4th Edition 2010)shall apply.

    Note: ll references to overning Body within the aws of ricket shall be replacedby match eferee.

    1 law1 - The Players

    1.1 Law1.1-NumberofPlayers

    aw 1.1 shall be replaced by the following:

    atch is played between two sides. Each side shall consist of 11 players,one of who shall be captain.

    1.2 Law1.2-NominationofPlayers

    aw 1.2 shall be replaced by the following:

    1.2.1 Each captain shall noinate 11 players plus a axiu of 4substitute elders in writing to the match eferee before thetoss. o player (eber of the playing eleven) ay be changedafter the noination without the consent of the opposing captain.

    1.2.2 nly those noinated as substitute elders shall be entitled to

    act as substitute elders during the atch, unless the matcheferee, in exceptional circustances, allows subsequent additions.

    1.2.3 ll those noinated including those noinated as substituteelders, ust be eligible to play for that particular tea and by suchnoination the noinees shall warrant that they are so eligible.

    1.2.4 n addition, by their noination, the noinees shall be deeedto have agreed to abide by all the applicable egulationspertaining to international cricket and in particular, the lothingand Equipent egulations, the ode of onduct for layers and

    layer Support ersonnel (hereafter referred to as the odeof onduct), the nti-acis ode for layers and layer Supportersonnel, the nti-oping ode and the nti-orruption ode.

    1.3 Law1.3Captain

    he following shall apply in addition to aw 1.3 (a):

    2 law 2 - subsTiTuTes and runners, baTsman or Fielder leaving

    The Field, baTsman reTiring, baTsman CommenCing innings

    aw 2 shall apply subject to the following:

    2.1 Law2.1SubstitutesandRunners

    aw 2.1 (a) (ii), 2.7 and 2.8 shall not apply. runner for a batsan whenbatting is not peritted.

    aw 2.1 (b) shall be aended as follows:

    he upires shall have discretion to allow, for other wholly acceptablereasons, a substitute elder to act for a noinated player at the start of

    the atch, or at any subsequent tie. 2.2 Law2.5-Fielderabsentorleavingtheeld

    aw 2.5 shall be replaced by the following:

    f a elder fails to take the eld with his side at the start of the atchor at any later tie, or leaves the eld during a session of play, theupire shall be infored of the reason for his absence, and he shallnot thereafter coe on to the eld during a session of play without theconsent of the upire. (See aw 2.6 as odied). he upire shall givesuch consent as soon as practicable.

    f the player is absent fro the eld for longer than 8 inutes:

    2.2.1 the player shall not be peritted to bowl in that innings after hisreturn until he has been on the eld for at least that length ofplaying tie for which he was absent.

    2.2.2 the player shall not be peritted to bat unless or until, in theaggregate, he has returned to the eld and/or his sides innings hasbeen in progress for at least that length of playing tie for which hehas been absent or, if earlier, when his side has lost ve wickets.

    he restriction in lauses 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 above shall not apply if theplayer has suffered an external blow (as opposed to an internalinjury such as a pulled uscle) whilst participating earlier in theatch and consequently been forced to leave the eld. or shall itapply if the player has been absent for very exceptional and whollyacceptable reasons (other than injury or illness).

    n the event of a eldsan already being off the eld at thecoenceent of an interruption in play through ground,

    weather or light conditions or for other exceptional circustances,he shall be allowed to count any such stoppage tie as playingtie, provided that he personally infors the upires when he ist enough to take the eld had play been in progress. Siilarly, ifat the coenceent of an interruption in play through ground,weather or light conditions or for other exceptional circustances,a player is on the eld but still has soe unexpired penalty tiereaining fro a previous absence, he shall autoatically beallowed to count any such stoppage tie as playing tie.

    2.2.3 Substitute elders shall only be peritted in cases of injury, illnessor other wholly acceptable reasons. Wholly acceptable reasonsshould be liited to extree circustances and should notinclude what is coonly referred to as a cofort break.

    Note: Squad ebers of the elding tea who are not playing in theatch and who are not acting as substitute elders shall be requiredto wear a tea training bib whilst on the playing area (including thearea between the boundary and the perieter fencing).

    5.3

    3 law3 - The umPires

    3.1 Law3.1-Appointmentandattendance

    aw 3.1 shall be replaced by the following:

    he following rules for the selection and appointent of upires shallbe followed as far as it is practicable to do so:

    3.1.1 he upires shall control the gae as required by the aws (asread with these playing conditions), with absolute ipartialityand shall be present at the ground at least two hours before thescheduled start of play.

    3.1.2 shall establish an Elite anel of upires who shall becontracted to the .

    3.1.3 Each Full meber country shall noinate fro its panel of rstclass upires two upires to an nternational anel and oneupire to a V anel. ( third upire ay be noinated to thenternational anel with the written consent of the ).

    3.1.4 he oe Board shall appoint both upires to stand in each 20atch. Such upires shall be selected fro the Elite anel or thenternational anel.

    3.1.5 he oe Board shall appoint a third upire for each 20 atchwho shall act as the eergency upire and ofciate in regard toV replays. Such appointent ust be ade fro the nterna-tional anel or the V anel.

    3.1.6 he oe Board shall also appoint a fourth upire for each 20atch fro its panel of rst class upires. he fourth upire shallact as the eergency third upire.

    3.1.7 either tea will have a right of objection to an upires appointent.

    3.2 ThirdUmpires/TVReplySystem

    he playing conditions set out in ppendix 6 shall apply.

    3.3 Law3.2-ChangeofUmpire

    aw 3.2 shall be replaced by the following:

    n upire shall not be changed during the atch, other than inexceptional circustances, unless he is injured or ill.

    3.4 Law3.4-Toinformcaptainsandscorers

    he following shall apply in addition to aw 3.4 (i):

    he oe Board ay provide for the ringing of a bell, which shall berung 5 inutes before the terination of an interval, when the upiresshall go to the wickets. he oe Board shall infor the matcheferee and the manager of the visiting tea at the start of the tour thatthis practice is to be adopted.

    3.5 Law3.8-FitnessforplayandLaw3.9-Suspensionofplayindangerousorunreasonableconditions

    3.5.1 he safety of all persons within the ground is of paraountiportance to the . n the event that any threateningcircustance, whether actual or perceived, coes to the attentionof any upire (including for exaple weather, pitch invasions, actof od, etc. See also clauses 3.5.4 and 3.5.5 below), then the playersand ofcials should iediately be asked to leave the eld of play

    in a safe and orderly anner and to relocate to a secure and safearea (depending on each particular threat) pending the satisfac-tory passing or resolution of such threat or risk to the reasonablesatisfaction of the upires, match eferee, the head of therelevant ground authority, the head of ground security and/or thepolice as the circustances ay require.

    aws 3.8 & 3.9 shall be replaced by:

    3.5.2 he upires shall be the nal judges of the tness of the ground,weather and light for play. See clause 3.5.3 below and aw 7.2(Fitness of the pitch for play).

    3.5.3 Suspension of play for adverse conditions of ground, weather or light

    a) ll references to ground include the pitch. See aw 7.1(rea of pitch).

    b) f at any tie the upires together agree that the conditionsof ground, weather or light are so bad that there is obviousand foreseeable risk to the safety of any player or upire, sothat it would be unreasonable or dangerous for play to takeplace, then they shall iediately suspend play, or not allowplay to coence or to restart. he decision as to whether

    conditions are so bad as to warrant such action is one for theupires alone to ake.

    he fact that the grass and the ball are wet and slippery doesnot warrant the ground conditions being regarded as unrea-sonable or dangerous. f the upires consider the ground isso wet or slippery as to deprive the bowler of a reasonablefoothold, the elders of the power of free oveent, or thebatsen of the ability to play their strokes or to run betweenthe wickets, then these conditions shall be regarded as so badthat it would be unreasonable for play to take place.

    he upires shall disregard any shadow on the pitch frothe stadiu or fro any peranent object on the ground.

    c) When there is a suspension of play it is the responsibilityof the upires to onitor the conditions. hey shall akeinspections as often as appropriate. ediately the upirestogether agree that conditions are suitable for play they shallcall upon the players to resue the gae.

    d) f play is in progress up to the start of an agreed interval then

    it will resue after the interval unless the upires togetheragree that the conditions of ground, weather or light are sobad that there is obvious and foreseeable risk to the safetyof any player or upire, so that it would be unreasonable ordangerous for play to take place.

    3.5.4 lay ay be suspended due to safety and security concerns by theupires on the advice of the match eferee, the head of therelevant ground authority, the head of ground security or the police.

    3.5.5 Where play is suspended under lause 3.5.4 above the decision

    to abandon or resue play shall be the responsibility of the match eferee who shall act only after consultation with the headof ground security and the police.

    3.6 LightMeters

    3.6.1 t is the responsibility of the to supply light eters to the atchofcials to be used in accordance with these playing conditions.

    3.6.2 ll light eters shall be uniforly calibrated.

    3.6.3 he upires shall be entitled to use light eter readings as

    a guideline for deterining whether the light is t for play inaccordance with the criteria set out in clause 3.5.3 (b) above.

    3.6.4 ight eter readings ay accordingly be used by the upires:

    a) o deterine whether there has been at any stage adeterioration or iproveent in the light.

    b) s bencharks for the reainder of a stoppage, atch and/or series/event.

    3.7 Useofarticiallights

    n the event of power failure or lights alfunction, the provisions relatingto the delay or interruption of play due to bad weather or light shall apply.

    3.8 DayNightmatches

    3.8.1 ads and players and upires clothing shall be coloured.

    3.8.2 Sight screens will be black.

    3.9 Advertisingongrounds,perimeterboardsandsightscreens

    3.9.1 Advertisingongrounds

    he logos on outelds are to be positioned as follows:

    a) Behind the stups a iniu of 25.15 yards (23 eters)fro the stups.

    b) midwicket/cover area no advertising to be positioned withinthe 30 yard (27.50 eters) circle.

    Note: dvertising closer to the stups as set out above whichis required to eet 3 requireents for broadcasters ay beperitted, subject to prior approval having been obtained.

    3.9.2 PerimeterBoards

    a) dvertising on perieter boards placed in front of thesightscreens is peritted save that the predoinant colour ofsuch advertising shall be of a contrasting colour to that of the ball.

    b) dvertising on perieter boards behind the stups at bothends shall not contain oving, ashing or ickering iagesand operators should ensure that the iages are only

    changed or oved at a tie that will not be distracting to theplayers or the upires.

    c) n addition, the brightness of any electronic iages shall be setat a level so that it is not a distraction to the players or upires.

    3.9.3 Sightscreens

    a) Sightscreens shall be provided at both ends of all grounds.

    b) dvertising shall be peritted on the sightscreen behind thestriker, providing it is reoved for the subsequent over fro

    that end.

    c) Such advertising shall not contain ashing or ickeringiages and particular care should be taken by the operatorsthat the advertising is not changed at a tie which isdistracting to the upire.

    4 law 4 - The sCorers

    aw 4 shall apply.

    5 law 5 - The ball

    5.1 Law5.2-Approvalandcontrolofballs

    aw 5.2 shall be replaced by the following:

    he oe Board shall provide cricket balls of an approved standard for20 cricket and spare used balls for changing during a atch, whichshall also be of the sae brand. ote: he oe Board shall be required

    to advise the Visiting Boards of the brand of ball to be used in theatch(es) at least 30 days prior to the start of the atch(es).

    he elding captain or his noinee ay select the ball with which hewishes to bowl fro the supply provided by the oe Board. he fourthupire shall take a box containing at least 6 new balls to the dressingroo and supervise the selection of the ball.

    he upires shall retain possession of the atch ball(s) throughout theduration of the atch when play is not actually taking place. uring playupires shall periodically and irregularly inspect the condition of the

    ball and shall retain possession of it at the fall of a wicket or any otherdisruption in play. Where day/night atches are scheduled in a serieswhite balls will be used in all atches (including day atches). Eachelding tea shall have one new ball for its innings.

    5.2 Law5.4-Newballinmatchofmorethanonedaysduration

    aw 5.4 shall not apply.

    5.3 Law5.5-Balllostorbecominguntforplay

    aw 5.5 shall be replaced by the following:

    5.3.1 n the event of a ball during play being lost or in the opinion ofthe upires, being unt for play through noral use, the upiresshall allow it to be replaced by one that in their opinion has had asiilar aount of wear.

    5.3.2 n the event of the ball becoing wet and soggy as a result of playcontinuing in incleent weather or it being affected by dew, or awhite ball becoing signicantly discoloured and in the opinion ofthe upires being unt for play, the ball ay be replaced for a ballthat has siilar aount of wear, even though it has not gone outof shape.

    5.3.3 f the ball is to be replaced, the upire shall infor the batsenand the elding captain. Either batsan or bowler ay raisethe atter with the upires and the upires decision as to areplaceent or otherwise will be nal.

    5.4 Law5.6-Specications

    aw 5.6 shall not apply.

    6 law 6 - The baT

    he following shall apply in addition to aw 6:

    7 law7 - The PiTCh

    7.1 Law7.3-Selectionandpreparation

    he following will apply in addition to aw 7.3:

    7.1.1 he ground staff shall ensure that during the period prior to thestart of play and during intervals, the pitch area shall be roped offso as to prevent unauthorised access. (he pitch area shall includean area at least 2 etres beyond the rectangle ade by the creasearkings at both ends of the pitch).

    7.1.2 he fourth upire shall ensure that, prior to the start of play andduring any intervals, only authorised ground staff, the atch

    ofcials, players, tea coaches and authorised television personnelshall be allowed access to the pitch area. Such access shall besubject to the following liitations:

    a) nly captains and tea coaches ay walk on the actual playingsurface of the pitch area (outside of the crease arkings).

    b) ccess to the pitch area by television personnel shallbe restricted to one caera crew (including one or twotelevision coentators) of the ofcial licensed televisionbroadcaster(s) (but not news crews).

    c) o spiked footwear shall be peritted.

    d) o one shall be peritted to bounce a ball on the pitch, strikeit with a bat or cause daage to the pitch in any other way.

    e) ccess shall not interfere with pitch preparation.

    7.1.3 n the event of any dispute, the match eferee will rule and hisruling will be nal.

    7.2 Law7.4-Changingthepitchaw 7.4 shall be replaced by the following:

    7.2.1 n the event of a pitch being considered too dangerous for play tocontinue in the estiation of the on-eld upires, they shall stopplay and iediately advise the match eferee.

    7.2.2 he on-eld upires and match eferee shall consult withboth captains.

    7.2.3 f the captains agree to continue, play shall resue.

    7.2.4 f the decision is not to resue play, the on-eld upires togetherwith the match eferee shall consider whether the existingpitch can be repaired and the atch resued fro the point itwas stopped. n considering whether to authorise such repairs, the match eferee ust consider whether this would place eitherside at an unfair advantage, given the play that had already takenplace on the dangerous pitch.

    7.2.5 f the decision is that the existing pitch cannot be repaired, thenthe atch is to be abandoned with the following consequences:

    a) n the event of the required nuber of overs to constitutea atch having been copleted at the tie the atch isabandoned, the result shall be deterined according to theprovisions of clause 21.7.2.

    b) n the event of the required nuber of overs to constitutea atch not having been copleted, the atch will beabandoned as a no result.

    7.2.6 f the atch is abandoned as a no result, the match efereeshall consult with the oe Board with the objective of ndinga way for a new atch to be coenced and copleted on thesae date (including any reserve day) and venue.

    7.2.7 Such a atch ay be played either on the repaired pitch or on anotherpitch, subject to the match eferee and the relevant groundauthority both being satised that the new pitch will be of the required20 standard. he playing tie lost between the scheduled start tieof the original atch and the actual start tie of the new atch willbe covered by the provisions of clauses 12 and 16 below.

    7.2.8 f it is not possible to play a new atch on the scheduled day of

    the atch (including any reserve day), the relevant ofcials frothe participating Boards shall agree on whether the atch can bereplayed within the existing tour schedule.

    7.2.9 hroughout the above decision aking processes, the matcheferee shall keep infored both captains and the head of theground authority. he head of the ground authority shall ensurethat suitable and propt public announceents are ade.

    7.3 Law7.5-Non-turfpitches

    aw 7.5 shall not apply.

    ll atches shall be played on natural turf pitches. he use of V andother adhesives in the preparation of pitches is not peritted.

    8 law 8 - The wiCkeTs

    8.1 Law8.2-Sizeofstumps

    he following shall apply in addition to aw 8.2:

    For televised atches the oe Board ay provide a slightly largercylindrical stup to accoodate the stup caera. When the largerstup is used, all three stups ust be exactly the sae size.

    9 law 9 - The bowling, PoPPing and reTurn Creases

    9.1 Law9.3-ThePoppingCrease

    aw 9.3 shall apply, except that the reference to a iniu of 6 ft shallbe replaced by a iniu of 15 yards (13.71 etres).

    9.2 AdditionalCreaseMarkings

    he following shall apply in addition to aw 9:

    s a guideline to the upires for the calling of wides on the offside thecrease arkings detailed in ppendix 4 shall be arked in white at eachend of the pitch.

    10 law 10 - PreParaTion and mainTenanCe oF The Playing area

    10.1 Law10.1-Rolling

    he following shall apply in addition to aw 10.1:

    10.1.1 rior to tossing for choice of innings the articial drying of thepitch and outeld shall be at the discretion of the ground curator.hereafter and throughout the atch the drying of the outeld aybe undertaken at any tie by the ground curator, but the dryingof the affected area of the pitch shall be carried out only on the

    instructions and under the supervision of the upires. he upiresshall be epowered to have the pitch dried without reference to thecaptains at any tie they are of the opinion that it is unt for play.

    10.1.2 he upires ay instruct the ground curator to use any availableequipent, including any roller for the purpose of drying the pitchand aking it t for play.

    10.1.3 n absorbent roller ay be used to reove water fro the coversincluding the cover on the atch pitch.

    10.2 Law10.6-Maintenanceoffootholes

    he following shall apply in addition to aw 10.6:

    he upires shall see that wherever possible and whenever it isconsidered necessary, action is taken during all intervals in play to dowhatever is practicable to iprove the bowlers foot holes.

    10.3 Protectionandpreparationofadjacentpitchesduringmatches

    he protection (by way of an appropriate cover) and preparation ofpitches which are adjacent to the atch pitch will be peritted duringthe atch subject to the following:

    i) Such easures will only be possible if requested by the groundcurator and approved by the upires before the start of the atch.

    ii) pproval should only be granted where such easures areunavoidable and will not coproise the safety of the players ortheir ability to execute their actions with coplete freedo.

    iii) he preparation work shall be carried out under the supervision ofthe fourth upire.

    iv) ny necessary watering shall be carried out only to the extentnecessary for such preparations and shall not be peritted in

    circustances which ay in any way affect the atch pitch.

    v) he consent of the captains is not required but the upires shalladvise both captains and the match eferee before the start ofthe atch on what has been agreed.

    11 law11 - Covering The PiTCh

    11.1 Law11.1-Beforethematch

    he following shall apply in addition to aw 11.1:

    he pitch shall be entirely protected against rain up to coenceentof play.

    11.2 Law11.2-Duringthematch

    aw 11.2 shall be replaced by the following:

    he pitch shall be entirely protected against rain up to the coence-ent of play and for the duration of the period of the atch.

    he covers ust totally protect the pitch and also the pitch surroundings,a iniu 5 etres either side of the pitch and any worn or soft areasin the outeld.

    11.3 Law11.3-Coveringbowlersrunups

    aw 11.3 shall be replaced by the following:

    he bowlers run-ups shall be covered in incleent weather, in order tokeep the dry, to a distance of at least 10 x 10 etres.

    11.4 Law11.4-Removalofcovers

    aw 11.4 shall be replaced by the following:

    ll covers (including hessian or scri covers used to protect the pitchagainst the sun) shall be reoved not later than 21/2 hours before thescheduled start of play provided it is not raining at the tie, but the pitchwill be covered again if rain falls prior to the coenceent of play.

    ttention is drawn to lauses 3.5 and 10.3 above.

    12 law 12 - innings

    aw 12 shall apply subject to the following (see also clauses 15 and 16 below):

    12.1 Law12.1-Numberofinnings

    aw 12.1 shall be replaced by the following:

    ll atches will consist of one innings per side, each innings beingliited to a axiu of 20 overs. ll atches shall be of one daysscheduled duration.

    12.2 Law12.2-Alternateinnings

    aw 12.2 shall not apply.

    12.3 Law12.3-Completedinnings

    aws 12.3 (c), (d) and (e) (iii) shall not apply.

    12.4 LengthofInnings

    12.4.1 Uninterrupted matches.

    a) Each tea shall bat for 20 overs unless all out earlier.

    b) f the tea elding rst fails to bowl the required nuber ofovers by the scheduled tie for cessation of the rst innings,play shall continue until the required nuber of overs hasbeen bowled. he interval shall not be extended and thesecond session shall coence at the schedule tie. hetea batting second shall receive its full quota of 20 oversirrespective of the nuber of overs it bowled in the scheduledtie for the cessation of the rst innings.

    c) f the tea batting rst is disissed in less than 20 overs, the

    tea batting second shall be entitled to bat for 20 overs.d) f the tea elding second fails to bowl 20 overs by the

    scheduled cessation tie, the hours of play shall be extendeduntil the required nuber of overs has been bowled or aresult is achieved.

    e) enalties shall apply for slow over rates (refer odeof onduct).

    12.4.2 elayed or nterrupted matches

    a) elay or nterruption to the nnings of the ea Batting First(see ppendix 2)

    i) When playing tie has been lost the revised nuber ofovers to be bowled in the atch shall be based on a rateof 15 overs per hour in the total reaining tie availablefor play.

    ii) he revision of the nuber of overs should ensure,whenever possible, that both teas have the opportunity

    of batting for the sae nuber of overs. he tea battingsecond shall not bat for a greater nuber of overs thanthe rst tea unless the latter copleted its inningsin less than its allocated overs. o constitute a atch, ainiu of 5 overs have to be bowled to the side battingsecond, subject to a result not being achieved earlier.

    iii) s soon as the total inutes of playing tie reaining isless than the copleted overs faced by ea 1 ultipliedby 4, then the rst innings is terinated and theprovisions of 12.4.2 b) below take effect.

    iv) xed tie will be specied for the coenceentof the interval, and also the close of play for the atch,by applying a rate of 15 overs per hour. When calculatingthe length of playing tie available for the atch, or thelength of either innings, the tiing and duration of allrelative delays, extensions in playing hours, interruptions inplay, and the interval will be taken into consideration. hiscalculation ust not cause the atch to nish earlier thanthe original or rescheduled tie for cessation of play on

    the nal scheduled day for play. f required the original tieshall be extended to allow for one extra over for each tea.

    v) f the tea elding rst fails to bowl the revised nuberof overs by the specied tie, play shall continue untilthe required nuber of overs have been bowled or theinnings is copleted.

    n a delayed or interrupted atch where the overs are reduced for bothteas or for the tea bowling second, no bowler ay bowl ore thanone-fth of the total overs allowed.

    Where the total overs is not divisible by 5, one additional over shall be allowedto the axiu nuber per bowler necessary to ake up the balance.

    n the event of a bowler breaking down and being unable to coplete an

    over, the reaining balls will be allowed by another bowler. Such part of anover will count as a full over only in so far as each bowlers liit is concerned.

    he scoreboard shall show the total nuber of overs bowled and thenuber of overs bowled by each bowler.

    12.7 Law12.4Thetoss

    n addition to the allowances as provided for above, in the case of aninnings that has been reduced due to any delay or interruption in play,an additional allowance of 1 inute for every full 3 overs by which theinnings is reduced will be granted.

    f a side is bowled out within the tie deterined for that inningspursuant to these playing conditions (taking into account all of thetie allowances set out above), the elding side will be deeed to havecoplied with the required iniu over rate.

    f the innings of the side batting second is suspended (with atleast 5 overs bowled) and it is not possible for the atch to beresued, the atch will be decided by coparison with the /ar Score deterined at the instant of the suspension by theuckworth/ewis ethod (efer uckworth/ewis egulations).f the score is equal to the par score, the atch is a ie. therwisethe result is a victory, or defeat, by the argin of runs by which thescore exceeds, or falls short of, the ar Score.

    21.8 Correctnessofresult

    ny query on the result of the atch as dened in aws 21.2, 21.3, 21.5, 21.8and 21.10 (as odied by these regulations) shall be resolved as soon aspossible and a nal decision ade by the upires at close of play.

    g) f a bowler delivers a second fast short pitched ball in an over,the upire, after the call of no ball and when the ball is dead,

    shall caution the bowler, infor the other upire, the captainof the elding side and the batsen at the wicket of whathas occurred. his caution shall apply throughout the innings.

    h) f there is a second instance of the bowler being no balledin the innings for bowling ore than one fast short pitcheddelivery in an over, the upire shall advise the bowler thatthis is his nal warning for the innings.

    i) Should there be any further instance by the sae bowlerin that innings, the upire shall call and signal no ball and

    when the ball is dead direct the captain to take the bowleroff forthwith. f necessary, the over shall be copleted byanother bowler, who shall neither have bowled the previousover, or part thereof, nor be allowed to bowl the next over, orpart thereof.

    j) he bowler thus taken off shall not be allowed to bowl againin that innings.

    k) he upire will report the occurrence to the other upire,the batsen at the wicket and as soon as possible to thecaptain of the batting side.

    l) he upires will then report the atter to the matcheferee who shall take such action as is considered appropriateagainst the captain and the bowler concerned. (efer also toaw 42.1 Fair and Unfair lay - esponsibility of the aptains.)

    he above is not a substitute for lause 42.5 below which upiresare able to apply at any tie.

    42.4.2 aw 42.6 (b) Bowling of igh Full itched Balls

    42.5 Law42.7-DangerousandUnfairBowling-Actionbytheumpireaw 42.7 shall be replaced by the following:

    egardless of any action taken by the upire as a result of a breachof lauses 42.4.1, 42.4.2 and 42.6 the following shall apply at any tieduring the atch:

    42.5.1 he bowling of fast short pitched balls is unfair if in the opinionof the upire at the bowlers end he considers that by theirrepetition and taking into account their length, height and

    direction, they are likely to inict physical injury on the striker,irrespective of the protective clothing and equipent he aybe wearing. he relative skill of the striker shall also be takeninto consideration.

    42.5.2 n the event of such unfair bowling, the upire at the bowlers endshall adopt the following procedure:

    a) n the rst instance the upire shall call and signal no ball,caution the bowler and infor the other upire, the captainof the elding side and the batsen of what has occurred.

    b) f this caution is ineffective, he shall repeat the aboveprocedure and indicate to the bowler that this is anal warning.

    c) Both the above caution and nal warning shall continue toapply even though the bowler ay later change ends.

    d) Should there be any further instance by the sae bowlerin that innings, the upire shall call and signal no ball andwhen the ball is dead direct the captain to take the bowler off

    forthwith. f necessary, the over shall be copleted by anotherbowler, who shall neither have bowled the previous over, orpart thereof, nor be allowed to bowl the next over, or partthereof. See aw 22.8. (Bowler ncapacitated or Suspendedduring an ver).

    e) he bowler thus taken off shall not be able to bowl again inthat innings.

    f) he upire will report the occurrence to the other upire,the batsen at the wicket and as soon as possible to thecaptain of the batting side.

    42.6Law42.8-DeliberatebowlingofHighFullPitchedBalls

    aw 42.8 shall be replaced by the following:

    f the upire considers that a high full pitch delivery which is deeedunfair as dened in lause 42.4.2 was deliberately bowled, then thecaution and warning process shall be dispensed with.

    42.6.2 When the ball is dead, direct the captain to take the bowler offforthwith.

    1 general

    1.1 Save with the express written consent of the hief Executive fcer ofthe the oe Board will ensure the live television broadcast of all20 atches played in its country.

    1.2 Where atches are broadcast the caera specication set out inppendix 6 shall be andatory as a iniu requireent.

    1.3 Where atches are not broadcast the caera specications set out in

    ppendix 6B shall be andatory as a iniu requireent.

    1.4 he oe Board will ensure a separate roo is provided for the thirdupire and that he has access to a television onitor and direct soundlink with the television control broadcast director to facilitate as anyreplays as is necessary to assist hi in aking a decision.

    2.3 f the third upire decides the batsan is out a red light is displayed;a green light eans not-out. Should the third upire be teporarilyunable to respond, a white light (where available) will reain illuinatedthroughout the period of interruption to signify to the on-eld upiresthat the V replay syste is teporarily unavailable, in which case thedecision will be taken by the on-eld upire. (s an alternative to thered/green light syste and where available, the big screen ay be used

    for the purpose of conveying the third upires decision.)

    2.4 When reviewing the V replay(s), if the third upire nds the batsanhas been bowled rather than hit wicket or stuped, he shall indicatethat the batsan was disissed. See also paragraph 6 below.

    3 CaughT deCisions

    he on-eld upire shall be entitled to refer an appeal for a caught decision tothe third upire in the following circustances:

    3.1 CleanCatches

    a) Should the bowlers end upire be unable to decide whether or not acatch was taken cleanly, he shall rst consult with the square leg upire.

    b) Should both upires be unable to ake a decision, they ay consultby two-way radio with the third upire. Following such consultation,the nal decision will be ade and given by the bowlers end upire,who will take into account the on-eld upires initial views and any

    other advice received fro the third upire.

    c) he third upire has to deterine whether the batsan has beencaught. owever, when reviewing the television replay(s), if it is clearto the third upire that the batsan did not hit the ball, he shallindicate that the batsan is not out. See also paragraph 6 below.

    he nal decision shall be indicated in the noral fashion by thebowlers end upire.

    3.2 BumpBalla) Should the bowlers end upire be unable to decide whether a catch

    was taken fro a bup ball or not, he shall rst consult with thesquare leg upire

    b) Should both on-eld upires be unable to ake a decision, thebowlers end upire shall be entitled to refer the decision to thethird upire to review a V replay(s) of the batsans stroke as inparagraph 2.2.

    c) he third upire has to deterine whether the ball was a bup ballor not. owever, when reviewing the television replay(s), if it is clearto the third upire that the batsan did not hit the ball, he shallindicate that the batsen is not out. See also paragraph 6 below.

    d) he third upire shall counicate his decision by the syste as inparagraph 2.3.

    4 boundary deCisions

    4.1 he on-eld upire shall be entitled to refer to the third upire for a

    decision about whether the eldsan had any part of his person incontact with the ball when he touched the boundary or when he had anypart of his person grounded beyond the boundary, or whether a four orsix had been scored. decision is to be ade iediately and cannot bechanged thereafter.

    4.2 n on-eld upire wishing the assistance of the third upire in this cir-custance shall counicate with the third upire by use of a two-wayradio and the third upire will convey his decision to the on-eld upireby this ethod.

    4.3 he third upire ay initiate contact with the on-eld upire by two-wayradio if V coverage shows a boundary line infringeent or incident thatappears not to have been acted upon by the on-eld upires.

    5 obsTruCTing The Field

    a) Following an appeal fro the elding side, the on-eld upire shall beentitled to consult with the third upire if he feels that the batsan, inrunning between the wickets, ay have signicantly changed his direction(refer clause 37).

    b) Such consultation shall be initiated by the on-eld upire and will be doneto help hi decide the extent of any change in direction and whether theobstruction was wilful or not.

    c) Following such consultation with the third upire, the nal decision shallbe indicated in the noral fashion by the relevant on-eld upire.

    6 baTsmen running To The same end

    6.1 n the event of both batsen running to the sae end and the upiresare uncertain over which batsen ade his ground rst, the on-eldupire ay consult with the third upire.

    6.2 he procedure in paragraph 4.2 shall apply.

    7 no balls

    Following any ode of disissal that is not peritted off a no-ball (whetherthe subject of a referral /consultation under this syste or not), if the on-eldupire is uncertain as the fairness of the delivery (foot-fault only), he shallbe entitled to request the batsan to delay leaving the eld and to check thefairness of the delivery (foot-fault only) with the third upire. onsultationwith the third upire shall be by way of two way radio. f the delivery was nota fair delivery the on-eld upire shall indicate that the batsan is not-outand signal no-ball.

    aPPendiX 7

    ProcedurefortheOneOverPerSideEliminator

    he following procedure will apply should the provision for a one over per sideeliinator be adopted in any atch.

    1 Subject to weather conditions the one over per side eliinator will take placeon the scheduled day of the atch at a tie to be deterined by the match eferee. n noral circustances it shall coence 10 inutes afterthe conclusion of the atch.

    2 he aount of extra tie allocated to the opse is the greater of (a) the extratie allocated to the original atch less the aount of extra tie actually

    utilised and (b) the gap between the actual end of the atch and the tiethe original atch would have been scheduled to nish had the whole of theextra tie provision been utilised. Should play be delayed prior to or during theopse, once the playing tie lost exceeds the extra tie allocated, the opseshall be abandoned. See clause 15.

    3 he one over per side eliinator will take place on the pitch allocated for theatch (the designated pitch) unless otherwise deterined by the upires inconsultation with the ground authority and the match eferee.

    4 he upires shall stand at the sae end as that in which they nished the atch.

    5 he upires shall choose which end to bowl and both teas will bowl frothe sae end.

    6 rior to the coenceent of the one over per side eliinator each teaelects three batsen and one bowler.

    7 he noinated players are given in writing to the match eferee. he match eferee shall not disclose the naes of the noinated players to anyother person until both teas have subitted their respective noinees.

    c) he atch nishes at 5.40 (having started 30 inutes late and overrun by 10inutes). here is no extra tie allocated to the opse which should start at5.50. ny delay or interruption after 5.50 eans the opse is abandoned.
