1 . Featu rc Description, I nteg rity, Eligibility :The fuature is a one room prairie school on a fuundation of poured concrete. The rcof of the school,enty and cupola are covered with wood shakes. Metal capping is at the peak of the school roof as wellas lhe hips of the bathrmm additbn. The extericr cfiimney is gone with the inbrion yellow brickchimney still in place. The large, wood framed base, belfiy sits on the roof of the entry. There is a flagpole at the peak of the belfty. The building measures 28 feet north and south and 20 feet east to westwith a 12 W 6 foot addfion br the toilets on the norfi side and a 14 by I bot enty on the west Thesoffits are closed.
Wde trim boards run under the eaves at the peak ends of the school and entry as well as under theeaves of the bathroom addition. The siding is 6 inch wood lap with 6 inch comer trim. At the bottomedge of the siding there is a skirting board with watertable. The east side has many double hungwindows with no glass and little fiaming, there is a bank of three windows are either side of a pair in themkldle. There are trlo double hung windows, no glass, in the bahroom addfion and anofrter on thewest side wall of the entry. To the left of the window on the west side of the entry is an opening usedfor loading coal into the school. On that same wall is a diamond shaped window under the peak, againno glass. The door is a 5 panel, broken wood door. All the oomem of the entire building have a wnap ofretal at the botrom gorng up about 3 ftet fur keeping animals out The enfry, wiUr a covered porcftapproacfi, has two halves, the north half is used for coal Srage and the south is a coat room with ooathooks stillon the wall. There is a 5 panelwood door leading into the coalroom and another, with halfof the door broken auray leading into the school proper. The floor in the enty as wellas the schoolproper is tongue and groove hardwood. The walls of the enty and school are covered with lathe andplaster. Sorne plmbr has falbn fiom the walls in the school rcom. The eiling is also ldre andplaster, much f;alling away there. There is wainscot on the walls of the entry none inside the schoolroom. An ouUine on the south and westwall indicate where the blackboards were located. Noindication of electhity.
