BIODEGRADABLE PLASTIC BAGSIf you are looking for a plastic bag alternative, why not consider Biodegradable plastic bags. Biodegradable plastic bags are made from corn starch, which is 100% compostable and biodegradable and harvested with dramatically less of an impact on the environment than most materials used in packaging. It is a renewable and sustainable resource, which will break down into environmentally friendly organic rich compost.

During the break down process, biodegradable plastic will contribute water and carbon dioxide back into the environment, with the end product being able to be used as compost. The compost will then in turn increase the soil organic content as well as water and nutrient retention of the soil, and in doing so will suppress plant disease.

These bags have a shelf life of 12 months, and need to be stored in a controlled environment, away from heat and moisture. When discarded, we recommend they be disposed of in compost bins, where they have the ultimate conditions to break down. Biodegradable bags cannot be put into recycling bins, as they contaminate the recycling process.

These bags are AS4736 certified and comply with Australian standards. They can be used in South Australia, and all other states around Australia, and are excluded from the plastic bag levy being trialled by the Victorian government.

Biodegradable bags can be made into similar styles as regular plastic bags such as with die-cut or soft loop handles and

singlet bags. We can also incorporate gussets for extra room or turn-over-tops to provide extra strength.

Minimum order quantities vary depending on the style of bag and lead-times are approximately 12 weeks. Please contact us for more information.
