QUICK FACTS
• Holds the record as the world’s tallest building.
• Rises 501 meters (1,667 feet ) above the ground.
•101 Floors
• 4,025,702 Total Square Feet
• Total of 61 elevators in the building. Including two of the worldsfastest elevators with top speed of 1008 meters per second. Takesonly 29 seconds to go from 1st floor to the 91st floor.
• Building’s uses include: communications, conference center,library, observation decks, office space, resturants, retail shopping
malls, fitness center, and home to Taipei Financial Corporation.• Construction began in 1999 and ended this year 2004.
• Total cost of the project was $700 million dollars.

Conclusion
The completion of Taipei 101 project relies on the win- win strategy for both owners (TF CC) and genera l
contractor (KT RT JV).
All parties in this project had the same idea to developa new skyline for Taipei. Taipei 101 now is a landmark
for the city.
So far Taipei 101 is the tallest building in the world, which is located on soft ground and in an earthquake
zone.
