The rooftop Greenhouse offers a leafy, sunny space to spread out and study. The Hall Building is where students take classes in economics, geography, political science, sociology and anthropology, and classics, modern languages and linguistics. GUY METRO (GM) BUILDING 1550 De Maisonneuve Blvd. W. The GM Building is home to the Health Services Clinic. It’s also where you’ll find Financial Aid and Awards, the School of Graduate Studies, the Institute for Co-operative Education (also known as the Co-op program, matching students with paid internships) and the Sexual Assault Resource Centre. 4 ENGINEERING, COMPUTER SCIENCE AND VISUAL ARTS INTEGRATED COMPLEX (EV) 1515 Ste-Catherine St. W. The EV Building is a two-tower, 600-room research and teaching facility that brings together the Faculty of Fine Arts with Engineering and Computer Science. The EV Building has state-of- the-art equipment like the Flight Simulator Lab and the Environment Chamber, with a “cold box” that simulates the Canadian winter. Fine Arts students in photography, fibres and material practices, print media, design and computation arts use purpose-built spaces like the Rapid Prototyping Lab, complete with a 3D printer and laser cutter. At the metro (subway) level, you’ll find Le Gym, a fully equipped fitness centre. CONCORDIA UNDERGROUND 1455 De Maisonneuve Blvd. W. Tunnels link the MB, EV, GM, LB and Hall Buildings to the Guy-Concordia metro station. The FOFA Gallery, on the main floor of the EV Building, showcases the work of students and faculty. 6 MOLSON (MB) BUILDING 1450 Guy St. The MB Building is the 15-storey home of the John Molson School of Business, made up of study areas, lecture rooms and group work spaces. The John Dobson Formula Growth Investment Room gives finance students practical knowledge of the markets as they use industry tools and live financial software. The David O’Brien Centre for Sustainable Enterprise mentors students and business leaders focused on promoting corporate social responsibility and care of the environment. The Faculty of Fine Arts’ performance spaces for theatre, contemporary dance and music are also here. 7 FAUBOURG BUILDING (FB/FG) 1250 Guy St. and 1616 Ste-Catherine St. W. The Faubourg Building houses the Centre for Continuing Education, the Department of Education and the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema. District 3, a start-up incubator, matches entrepreneurially minded students with industry leaders and experts to help them launch their own ideas. 8 GREY NUNS (GN) BUILDING 1185 St-Mathieu St. Our gorgeous Grey Nuns student residence is full of character, with spacious rooms, high ceilings and lots of light. The converted chapel is an awe- inspiring Reading Room open to the whole University community. Comfortable, safe, and close to class – students feel right at home on campus. 9 VISUAL ARTS (VA) BUILDING 1395 René-Lévesque W. The VA Building is home to studio arts facilities, the departments of Creative Art Therapies, Art History, and Art Education, as well as the VAV Gallery, a student-run exhibition space. The Library Building is home to the Birks Service Student Centre, the go-to spot for ID cards, tuition payment and transcripts, among other services. OUR HISTORY – The Jesuits, with their long history as educators and missionaries, established Loyola College in 1896. The College found a home in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce 20 years later. Loyola College merged with Sir George Williams University in 1974 to form Concordia University.

The Loyola Campus blends cutting-edge facilities with turn-of-the-century buildings in the beautiful west-end neighbourhood of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. Students commute between the two campuses via our shuttle bus, a seven-kilometre ride that takes about 20 minutes.

GETTING TO LOYOLAThe Loyola Campus is located at 7141 Sherbrooke St. W.

By car: Turn north off Sherbrooke Street onto West Broadway Street and then into the parking lot. Parking is five dollars for the day.

By public transit: Take the metro to Vendôme station, then catch the 105 Sherbrooke bus heading west.

SELF-GUIDED TOUR OF LOYOLA CAMPUS 1OSCAR PETERSON CONCERT HALL (PT) The Oscar Peterson Concert Hall (PT) was named to honour the late, great musician and composer. The 570-seat Hall is a primary performance space for the Faculty of Fine Arts, with more than 200 concerts and theatrical productions annually.

The Georges P. Vanier Library (VL) is open 24 hours a day in the fall and winter terms.

The Student Centre (SC) is home to a student-run café, a lounge and study spots.

HINGSTON RESIDENCES (HA/HB) / JESUIT RESIDENCE ( JR) Hingston Hall (HA/HB) and the Jesuit Residence (JR) are home away from home. for the hundreds of Concordians who live on campus.

LOYOLA CAMPUS MAP

3OUTDOOR LANDSCAPES The Quad is an expansive green space where students relax between classes on warm days. Frosh activities, barbecues and outdoor concerts take place here.

4ADMINISTRATION (AD) / CENTRAL BUILDINGS (CC)

The Administration Building (AD) is the place to visit if you’re an Arts and Science student looking for an academic

advisor. The Loyola College for Diversity and Sustainability is a learning community that draws students interested in examining

the arts and sciences from global, multicultural perspectives. Counselling and Development offers personal, educational and

career counselling. The Health Services Clinic and the Multi-Faith Chaplaincy are also here. The Central Building (CC) is home to

CJLO 1690 AM, the award-winning, student-run radio station.

5F.C. SMITH AUDITORIUM / LOYOLA CHAPEL (FC) Students use the F.C. Smith Auditorium (FC) for theatrical productions and workshops. The Cazalet Theatre seats 60 to 70 people. Loyola Chapel is a beautiful, quiet place available to people of all faiths. Concerts and other events take place here too.

ONE OF THE GREATS – Oscar Peterson (1925-2007) is considered one of the best jazz pianists of all time. Concordia awarded Peterson, who grew up in the Little Burgundy neighbourhood of Montreal, an honorary doctorate and the Loyola Medal, the University’s highest honour.

6RICHARD J . RENAUD SCIENCE PAVILION (SP) The Richard J. Renaud Science Pavilion (SP) is the main building for students in biology, chemistry and biochemistry and physics, among others. The Science College is a specialized learning community that prepares Concordians to solve current problems through lab work and research.

FEELING PECKISH? Stop by the Hive Café in the SC Building or the G Lounge in the CC Building for a quick snack.

OF INTEREST – The Emergence of the Chief (2005) by Dave McGary depicts a clan mother telling the chief about the

responsibilities given him by the women of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) and Kanienkehaka (Mohawk) nations.

7COMMUNICATION STUDIES AND JOURNALISM BUILDING (CJ)

The CJ Building (CJ) is where our Communication Studies and Journalism students make use of media labs, plus video

production and editing suites. The Bookstore is also here.

8RESEARCH CENTRE FOR STRUCTURAL AND FUNCTIONAL GENOMICS BUILDING (GE) The Research Centre for Structural and Functional Genomics Building (GE) is Concordia’s largest multidisciplinary research centre, bringing together biologists, chemists and bioinformaticians.

Watch for some of the city’s most memorable commercial signs on the walls of the CJ Building, part of the Montreal Signs project.

HELPFUL TIP – Passageways on the second and third floors link the GE Building to the Science Pavilion. You can also take the tunnel at the basement level. Another tunnel links the GE and CJ Buildings.

9RECREATION AND ATHLETICS COMPLEX (RA) The Recreation and Athletics Complex (RA) is where our varsity athletes, the Stingers, compete in football, basketball, hockey, rugby, soccer and wrestling. Fans cheer on the Stingers at the Concordia Stadium. The Stinger Dome (DO), an air-supported structure, covers the field from November to April, so Concordians can join a game of soccer or Ultimate all year round. The Stingers hockey teams play at the Ed Meagher Arena (PB).

10PERFORM CENTRE (PC)The PERFORM Centre (PC) is a clinical research facility focused on promoting healthy living through prevention. Le Centre offers the opportunity to get fit on its conditioning floor, complete with the latest and best exercise equipment. Our Athletic Therapy and Exercise Science students undertake their research at the PERFORM Centre too.
