What is Data?

• Information – quantitative (numbers-based) or qualitative (quality-based) that you collect.

• You don’t need a fancy database to collect data – you just need a structure!

• You can use excel or free sources like google docs.

• The specific types of data you choose to track.

In other words, data is what information you collect and metrics are what you choose to count and how you choose to count it.
