Tanger-Port Submarine Outfall – Morocco

The HDPE outfall has 1.400 mm of diameter and 2.155 meters long. The diffuser is installed at – 42.00 CD

The outfall is installed in previously dredged trench until – 22.00m CD depth, and from there on laid on the sea bottom. Its stability is ensured by concrete stabilizers previously assembled on the pipe at TANGER MED Port.

Since the sea bottom is of rocky nature down to -22.00 m CD depths, we had to dig the trench using drilling equipment and explosives, and then use a dipper dredger.

The pipes were made by Pipelife and towed floating from Norway to Morocco by a deep-sea tugboat in sections of 300 m, and then connected to form longer sections of 600 m and 900 m for installation, each section in a single sinking operation.

The diffuser is composed by 14 exits of 240 and 280 mm of diameter.
