3.0 Case Study Highlights
3.1 Placing a well “on Tap”
3.1.1 Operations
The design of the tool allows the operator precise control while putting wells “On Tap”. The ability to
precisely locate and set rod strings properly inside the downhole pump – Allowing full operation of the
pump and maximizing productivity
Steps of the operation:
1) Arrive on location and perform site assessments, complete risk analysis, complete work permits. 2) Position, Lock out, and secure pump Jack
3) Record SITP and SICP, Calculate String Weights and necessary parameters 4) Rig in Tap It Tool

5) Pick up on string and monitor string weight
6) Loosen Top clamp and lower rod string to set on slight tap 7) Tighten top clamp and secure rod string onto pump jack carrier bar 8) Lower Tap it tool and remove tools carrier bar, clear tool rams below stuffing box.
9) Turn well over to operator. Start pumpjack When gas lock is removed from bottom hole pump.
10) Shut down, lock out, secure pumpjack 11) Position tool rams install tool carrier bar.
12) Hoist rod string the desired length off tap. 13) Secure rod string in pumpjack carrier bar. 14) Rig out Tap it tool. 15) Close work permits
16) Turn well over to operations.
3.1.2 Safety
Use of the tool securely positions and maintains control of the rod string. Adjustments to the pump jack
can be performed without the risk of pinch points and hanging weight. This isolates the risk and challenges that arise while adjusting the movement of the pump jack. Utilization of Team Snubbing Services strong QHSE management system and guidance provides the ability to continue to work safely
with respect to all aspects including Quality, Health and the Environment.
3.1.3 Efficiency
The unit is installed and operational within minutes upon arrival and site review. The entire operation of
precisely placing the well “On Tap” can take under a half an hour on site.
3.1.4 Result - Improved Productivity
The ability to precisely position the rod string into the downhole pump creates maximum use and longevity of that pump. Stroking the rod string without any hammer effect on the pump reduces
ongoing damage created by jarring. The condition of both the rod string as well as the downhole pump will improve. The wear and tear on all equipment will be reduced, and therefore overall maintenance on
the well entirely will be reduced over time.
Production will be enhanced due to the absolute maximum use of the equipment.
3.2 Suspension of a Pumping Well
3.2.1 Operations
The design of the tool allows the operator precise control while handling the polish rod and surface rods. The ability to efficiently jack necessary rods to hang a string for a suspension eliminates the costs

associated with conventional equipment. The package simplifies the process and requires significantly
less time on site.
Steps of the operation:
1) Arrive on location and perform site assessments, complete risk analysis, complete work permits. 2) With pumpjack not in service, lockout and secure pumpjack with chain and boomer 3) Read and record well pressures. Spot and rig in mini flare stack. Bleed off tbg pressures and csg
pressure. Spot and rig in pressure truck for well control. Fill and pressure test tbg for future possibilities. Note this on daily report.
4) Build Tap it tool. Remove cable guard on horsehead. 5) Start to jack out polish rod, after pump stroke out unseating actions will follow.
Note this on daily report.
6) With pump unseated, pump required amount of kill fluid. Tubing dead. Casing venting.
7) Lower rod string right down till all weight is standing in well. Close in rod bop. With well dead should not have any gas to bleed off.
8) Remove polish rod pick pony, rod rotator and stuffing box. 9) Strip on rod bop (Regan) and secure to well. Hook up hose and close Regan bop. Open rod bop
(Rattigan) Well should still be dead. Open rod bop (Regan)
10) Jack polish rod out of well to polish rod and sucker rod connection. Install rod elevator. Break connection but leave butted up. Picker with polish rod pick up elevator will be connected to polish rod while jacking out of hole.
11) Continue to monitor well. 12) Pick up on rod string, break out all wellhead above tubing bonnet. Lower rod string, with 2 straps
connected to Tap it tool and wellhead.
13) Pick up on wellhead. Install suspension tool and hang rod string on suspension tool. Currently continue to monitor well.
14) Lay down wellhead and polish rod. Rig out Tap it tool and secure well with Master valve and
nightcap. 15) Rig out all equipment.
16) Close all work permits
3.2.2 Safety
Use of the tool securely positions and maintains control of the rod string. Adjustments to the pump jack
can be performed without the risk of pinch points and hanging weight. This isolates the risk and challenges that arise while adjusting the movement of the pump jack. Utilization of Team Snubbing Services strong QHSE management system and guidance provides the ability to continue to work safely
with respect to all aspects including Quality, Health and the Environment.

3.3 Polish Rod Changes
3.3.1 Operations
The design of the tool allows the operator precise control while handling the polish rod and surface rods. The ability to efficiently jack necessary rods to hang a string for a suspension eliminates the costs associated with conventional equipment. The package simplifies the process and requires significantly
less time on site.
Steps of the operation:
1) Arrive on location and perform site assessments, complete risk analysis, complete work permits. 2) Shut down, lock out and secure pumpjack. 3) Read and record SITP and SICP pressures
Note this on daily report. 4) Rig in mini flare stack if required. Most facilities will have bleed off methods. Rig in pressure truck
for well control. Measure from top of upper clamp to bottom of coupler on pick up pony. (This gives you the exact placement of rod string and making it easier for setting off tap when job
completed) 5) Bleed off Casing and Tubing. 6) Perform Pre-Job Calculations. (Set Parameters)
7) Rig in Tap it tool. 8) Lower bottom clamp and pick up on rod string. 9) Remove top clamp, and tie back carrier bar and horsehead bridle. (Remove from working area)
Leave cable guard on horsehead for unseating pump. 10) With well bled off, fill tubing and pressure test tubing to predetermined limits. Confirm 15 min
test is solid. Bleed off.
Note on daily report. 11) Jack rod string out to unseating action.
