Gender

• The gender in which my music magazine will be aimed towards is going to be mainly females. The attraction to the females will be from the content of my magazine and not the design, as it will have a unisex house style throughout. It will appeal to men also, except the majority will be female as this is the category that seem to be more interested in buying music magazines.

• My indie/ mature pop genre will appeal to both males and females because the music in which I will be including within the mag has the audience of both genres.

Age and Class

• The age which I am aiming my magazine towards will be an older generation of teens. They will be aged between 17 and 21. The mature pop genre will appeal to this age range and the indie feel which I will be incorporating into my house style and genre will especially appeal to them as it is a growing trend within this age group.

• This class which I am aiming my magazine at is middle and working class, stereotypically.

Genre

• The genre of my magazine will be mature pop with an indie feel and vibe to it. My magazine will include images that you would not normally expect to be featured on the over of a pop magazine and it will be very laid back. My house style which I will incorporate throughout my magazine will aspire to my genre.

• The images which I will include will contrast the music and pop theme, there will be a big indie feel within my images. However my content will be fully parallel to the theme of pop and music.

Purpose

• The purpose of my magazine will be to entertain music lovers and to interest people who aren’t into the style of music my magazine is revolved around. The purpose is also to to present a style of pop in an indie manor, this will be different for an audience to look at and it will engage them because it is a change they don’t usually see.

Price

• The price of my magazine will be £3.99 as this is what I beileve to be an average price for a magazine. The reason that I have priced my magazine at this price is because the audience in which my magazine is target at are 17-21 years of age, this will mean that they will have some sort of income and they will have student loans etc… This what they will be able to afford my magazine.

• I do not think that my magazine is over priced. It is an affordable amount, however if I was to increase it I would think it is slightly over priced for a magazine.
