Boston, MA--NH: Health Profile
Definition: Disability rates are the proportion of the population with a disability, for whom disability status isknown, out of the civilian non-institutionalized population aged 5 and over. This indicator breaks downdisability rates by racial group, and by sex.Notes: The Census reports that disabilities may be over-reported in the 2000 Census for the overall disabilityrate, for employment disabilities, and for "go-outside-home" disabilities. Sensory, physical, mental, and self-care disability rates are unaffected, and rates for children (age 5-15) are unaffected.

For instance, the black isolation index provides the averageproportion of neighbors that are black, for the average neighborhood where blacks live.Notes: Non-Hispanic black and Asian/Pacific Islander groups include people who identified themselves as those races"alone" or those races "in combination with other races."Source: U.S. Census Bureau, 2000 Census, Summary File 1.
