Certified Caterpillar Operator Training Maximizing productivity and managing the cost of operations are the two most critical factors affecting your bottom line profit. Caterpillar’s Certified Operator Training programs, available through your local Caterpillar dealer, provide the knowledge and tools to solve these business challenges. Certificate of Competency Plant Tickets – This training designed to provide candidates with the skills they will need to operate the machinery in compliance with site safety plasn, OH&S regulations and legislation applicable to workplace operations. Topics covered include: machine and general safety, operator responsibilities, pre – start inspection, control functions, start – up and shut – down procedures & guidance for safe operation. The Caterpillar Eco Operator Training Course – helps operators analyse their skills, eliminate bad habits, and build onto existing skills so that they can make better use of their resources. This, one – day, instructor – led course, explains the foundation and background of components and elements which influence and contribute to more fuel – efficient machine operation. Caterpillar Dealer Performance Centre – Customer Campus Online Training Consisting of approximately 200 courses to choose from, including but not limited to Engines, Powertrain, Hydraulics, Electrical, New Product Introduction & Tier IV technology. Preventative Maintenance – The course will cover Perform adjustments required in Interval servicing, Perform fluid and filter changes, Lubrication requirements, Correct Schedule oil sampling procedures, Technical Analysis walk around inspection & Using the MIS Maintenance interval schedule Test operational functions of vehicles & equipment – The course is intended to introduce and instruct candidates on the correct process of conducting a walk around inspection, starting, moving and shutting down the equipment as per the owners operation & maintenance manual requirements on Two different types of equipment. Statement of Attainment for unit RIISAM301E issued on successful completion Electronic Engines – Candidates will study the principles of MEUI (Mechanically Actuated, Electronically Controlled Unit Injection), HEUI (Hydraulically Actuated Electronically Controlled Unit Injection) and Common Rail electronic fuel systems, as used on Caterpillar engines. Use of Cat ET to test and diagnose problems with Cat electronic fuel systems, injector E Trim and Timing calibration. Electronic Technician – Caterpillar Equipment. Candidates will learn how to use a lap top computer, installed with the Caterpillar Electronic Technician Programme, for use when testing, adjusting and diagnosing Caterpillar electronically controlled machine systems. Diagnosing Electrical Faults – Upon completion of this course the participant will be able to: Understand the Diagnostic process, Explain the systems operation, Understand the meaning of “Pull up voltage”, Measure the electrical values of switches, solenoids and electrical sensors found on the Cat equipment & Carry out fault finding using the Diagnostic process. Electrical Fundamentals – Upon completion of this course the participant will be able to: Understand the fundamentals of electricity, Understand the proper use of a digital multimeter (DMM), Understand Ohm’s Law and it importance in troubleshooting electrical/electronic systems, Understand Series circuits, Parallel circuits, Series – Parallel (combination) circuits Hydraulic Fundamentals – This one – day course is designed for service technicians. It revises the basics of hydraulic system operation to ensure a platform for understanding the operation; testing and diagnosing of hydraulic systems. Intermediate Hydraulics – repair and maintenance of machines using the following hydraulic systems. Load Sensing Pressure Compensated (LSPC) systems, Proportional Priority Pressure Compensated (PPPC) systems, Hydraulic fan systems (hydrostatics), and Electro Hydraulic systems. This course covers, systems operations, testing and adjustments and troubleshooting of the systems listed. Remove and fit wheel assemblies – This course covers wheel installation and removal. On completion of course candidates will receive a statement of attainment. Load & Unload Plant – This training session will give candidates an understanding of the requirements for the safe loading, securing and unloading of a minimum of two types of machines. The session is designed for personnel involved in the transportation of plant including those responsible for consigning or receiving plant.
