was set up to lead Reliance Group¶s foray into organized retail.

Reliance has expanded in 85 cities around 14 states.

Currently there exist around 560 retail outlets

A typical reliance fresh is approximately 3000-4000 sq.ft &caters a catchement area 2-3 km

Accountable for the profit of his category.

Vendor management.

Coordination with procurement team.

Daily indent coordination.

Price benchmarking.

SKU listing & updating.

Dump management.



PROCUREMENT

Indent from categorymgr is given to CC mgr

CC mgr informs the farmers

about the next dayrequirement

Price band fixation andprocurement starts from 7 am

Sorting/grading /weighing/barcodeing

Farmers are givenimmediate payment

Quality of products is checkedby the CC manager

The produce is loaded in thetrucks & sealed

The sealed trucks are thensent to CPC



ROLE OF CC MANAGER

Organize farmers through meetings

Maintain a record of registered farmers

Check for quality.

Maintainence of records like STN, receipt

cum weighment slip, JJ form.

Reconciliation of daily accounts

Check for new arrivals.



In case of any shortage of products the

procurement manager will negotiate with thevendors in the local market for consisitent

supply.

The procurement manager also bench marksthe price of local market & other competitors.

CPC- CITY PROCESSING CENTRE

Location puzal,

Area ± 47000sqft

Capacity ± 90 metric tones

Rent ± Rs.10/ sqft.

Main operation distributing the products

from CC to stores



FUNCTIONS

Unloading the products from the truck

starts at 10pm 2 am

Weighing at inbound area.

Checking the arrived crates as per the STN.

Grading the products by sampling method.

Allocating the product as per the allocation

sheet.

Barcodeing of the produce

Despatching the products to the designated

stores 5am

The major document maintained by them is JJform & STN for rechecking the quantity of

produce on arrival at stores & CC

Arranged all the articles acording to the

given plan.

Indenting ± learnt how to indent the

materials based on the past sales data,

maintainence of dump registering, mark

down of the products using SAP & RETALIX







CONCLUSION

During our industrial tieup

programme with RRL we were exposed

to all the retail operation carried out

in a retail industry.We were trained and exposed to all

the departments that helps in the

effective functioning of reliance

retail.

Thus, we gained field level exposure

and were also subjected to corporate

culture and working environment.
