Word of the Day

amatoryIt's a Love Thing Word of the Day:For those in whom Latin conjugations still echo (amo, amare, amavi, amatus) this one will be a no-brainer. For others, other English cognates, such as amiable, amateur, and amorous may come to the rescue. Amatory is a not-so-frequent and somewhat literary synonym of romantic. Perhaps because of the alliterative quality, one of its frequent companions today is adventure.
