Matriarchs & Memories!

Welcome Jersey enthusiasts!

We are proud to present Visions of Veronica – a sale featuring only

direct relatives of the living legend, Huronia Centurion Veronica 20J EX97%.

This weekend is dedicated to Veronica’s accomplishments and contributions

to the Jersey breed. Veronica is known around the world for her show-ring

honors, but her greatest influence on the Jersey breed will come through her

offspring. This sale lineup is a small representation of her ability to transmit

her winning traits.

Planning this celebration has been a true labor of love for everyone

involved. The idea was planted when Veronica calved in January 2010 at 10

years of age. Over the past decade, she has done all that was asked of her and

more. We felt the need to do something special in her honor.

When we began promoting Visions of Veronica, I looked for the perfect

words to describe her. In my search, two definitions for the name Veronica

jumped out. The Latin origin of Veronica is the abbreviation of “vera icon”

which translated means “True Image”. The Greek meaning for the name

Veronica is “She who brings Victory”. Was her name a sign of things to

come? This ‘true image’ of the Jersey cow has ‘brought victory’ to many.

As you look through the catalog, you will find memories, stories and

observations shared by people that had the opportunity to work directly

with Veronica. I greatly appreciate everyone who took the time to contribute.

The thoughts you shared, combined with photos from past years, provide fans

of Veronica with a collection that captures her true identity.

It is an honor for George, Tony, Ernie and I to welcome you to

Arethusa Farm for Visions of Veronica. We hope you can appreciate Veronica

and her unique contributions to the Jersey breed as much as those of us who

work with her daily. She has been a true blessing in our lives.

Sincerely,

Terri Packard
