1 Welcome to the new school year! Welcome once again to our new school year. In particular we extend a warm welcome to: Parents and carers who are new to the Trinity community; To our 213 new Year 7 students, and students new to the College in years 8-12; To the 18 new members of the College staff. Two hundred years ago in a beautiful chapel on a hill in the city of Lyon, a group of young men gathered, inspired by the Holy Spirit, to create a new spiritual family. They gathered around the table of the Eucharist to receive Jesus. They gathered to dedicate themselves to God, to live as disciples of Jesus in a way that, thanks to them has become our way at Trinity. That way is the way of Mary. The Marist way. We welcome new students and staff into that Marist family in the Church. We pray that in this new school year each of us can somehow share in the vision that St Marcellin and his companions had - to live in the world as Mary did so that Jesus might be known and loved, firstly by ourselves and then through us by others. As we join with the whole Church in this Jubilee Year of Mercy we are reminded that trying to be women and men of Mercy is simply living the way of Jesus. It was the way of Mary, the first disciple and mother of Mercy, the way of St Marcellin and St. Mary McKillop. This is our Marist way of living as men and women of love, mercy, gentleness, and compassion, somewhat hidden and yet vital to the world. Today Mercy is what our world needs. This year Mercy is what we celebrate. We pray that our loving and merciful God continues to bless us with grace and love. 5 February 2016 College Newsletter 2015 HSC Results Congratulations to the Year 12 class of 2015 on your fantastic HSC results. 171 students sat HSC exams in 2015 across 32 courses.
