Overview• PrecisionMedicinerequirestheabilitytoclassifypatientsintospecializedcohortsthatdifferintheir

susceptibilitytodisease,inthebiologyand/orprognosisofthediseasestheydevelop,orintheirresponsetotherapy.Identifyingquantitativeimagingphenotypesacrossscalethroughtheuseofradiomic/pathomicanalysesisanevolvingapproachtocohortidentificationandtoimprovingourunderstandingofcancerbiology.Theseanalytictechniquesrequirelargecollectionsofwell-curateddataforalgorithmtestingandvalidation.

• Since2011theCancerImagingArchive(TCIA)hasencouragedandsupportedcancer-relatedopenscienceresearchbyacquiring,curating,hostingandmanagingcollectionsofmulti-modalinformation.ToremainrelevanttoitscurrentresearchcommunityTCIAmustundergocontinuousimprovementandexpansionofitcapabilitiesguidedbytheresearchcommunity.

• TheTCIAusercommunityhasidentifiedfourcriticalareasforimprovement:– expandedresourcesforintegrativeImage-Omics studies,– enhancedcapacitytoacquirehighqualitydatacollections,– resourcestosupportvalidationstudiesandResearchReproducibility,– increasedcommunityengagement.

• Aim2:Increasecapacitytoacquirehighqualitydatacollections.– extendandautomatecurationprocessestoincreaseTCIA’scollectionsandaddnewtypesofdatabasedonprioritiesestablishedbyourResearchAdvisoryCommittee

– consolidatetheTCIAsoftwarestackintoasetofeasilydeployableentitiestoreduceTCIA’slong-terminternaloperationalcosts

• Aim3:Enhanceresourcestosupportvalidationstudiesandresearchreproducibility.– deployasetoftoolsandcapabilitiestodirectlysupportITCRimaginggrandchallenges

• AIM4:EmphasizeCommunityEngagement,CollaborationandDissemination.– ResearchAdvisoryCommitteewillbecreatedtoprovidedirectcommunityguidanceonTCIAenhancementandcollectionpriorities.
