    Commonwealth Games

    You may have noticed the

    Commonwealth Games

    happening in Glasgowright

    nowbut what are they all

    about?

About 140 years ago all the

    countries involved in the

    Commonwealth Gameswere

part of the British Empire. Todaythe Commonwealth contains

over 2 billion people which is

almost a third of the worlds

    population!

    The games were originally

invented to bring members of the

    British Empire together.

    Today it is an international,

    multi-sport event with 21

    different eventsincluding

    archery, golf and wrestling.

    I have been enjoying watching

    the running and gymnastics

    which ones are your favourites?

Take a look at pages 2and 3 to see how our

    graduates got on!
