Navigating the different screensTherearethreewaystonavigatescreensandselecticons.Theyare:

• Dashkeys:thetwo- keysareusedto:• MovebetweentheIdle,Main Menu andtheDesktopscreens.• Quicklytakeyoutothetoporbottommenuoption.• Selectanonscreenoption.

• Directionpad:usethedirectionpadtonavigatescreensandmenus.Onceyoufindthedesirediconormenuoption,highlightitandpressOK.

• Iconnumber:pressthenumberassignedtotheicononthescreen.Forexample,press1toselectPurchaseintheimagetotheright.

Changing the paper1. Pressthepaper chamber buttononthetop-leftcorneroftheterminaltoopen

thepanelandremovetheemptypaperrolltube.

2. Unwrapanewpaperrollandplaceitinthepaperchambersothatthelooseendofthepaperfeedsupfromunderthepaperrolltowardsyou.

3. Pressdownonthepaneluntilitclicksshutandensurethereisabitofpaperstickingoutfromthechamberthatittouchesthetopoftheterminalscreen.

CardholderPrivacyandSecurity

Terminal security ItistheMerchant’sresponsibilitytosecuretheterminal,anyuserIDsorpasswordstopreventunauthorizeduse.InanyeventtheMerchantwillbeliableforanyunauthorizeduseoftheterminaloranyuserIDsorpasswords.Therearetwousersecuritysettings:

No security (Default)ThissettingdoesnotuseuserIDsandpasswords.Merchantsthatchoosetousenosecuritystillhavetheoptiontosetupastore/manageroverrideIDandpasswordtoaccessareasoftheterminalthathaveamandatoryrequirementforsupervisorpassword.

SecurityThisoptionallowstheusertosetupsupervisorsandoperatorswithanIDlogin.Thesupervisorsetuprequiresyoutocreateapassword.YoucanactivatethisbygoingtoDesktopMainMenuControl PanelLogonMethod.

Override PasscodeThisoptionallowsthebusinessownertosetupapasscodetobypasscertainfunctionality.Seepage7forthelistoffunctionalitythatcanbebypassedwiththispasscode.

Administering the terminalByutilizingtheusertypes,youcanhelpsecureyourterminalbysettingwhatterminalfunctionalitythateachofyouremployeescanaccess.Listedbelowaretheusertypesandtheirfunctionality.

Note:Thereisauserhierarchythatdetermineswhocanaccesscertainfunctionality:

• Administrator(TDTechnicianonly),

• Manager,

• Supervisor,and

• Operator.

TDMerchantSolutionsstronglysuggeststhatyoucreateanduseamanagerIDforyourday-to-daybusinessneedsandonlyusetheadministratorIDwhenabsolutelynecessary.SomefunctionsthatrequireanadministratorIDare.

• Adding,editing,deletingorunlockingmanagerIDs

• Anyfunctionalitythatyouhaveprotectedwithanadministratorlogin

TDMerchantSolutionsstronglysuggeststhatwhenyoucreateyourmanagerIDsthatyourecordandstoretheminasafeplaceforfuturereference.

Manually entered credit card transactionsThereisaninherentriskassociatedwiththesetransactionsastheyhaveanincreasedrateoffraud.Ifyoudomanuallyenteracreditcardtransactionwhichisdeemedfraudulent,youwillbeheldresponsibleforanychargebacksassociatedwithit.Manuallyenteredcreditcardtransactionsincludemailorderandtelephoneordertransactions.

Ifyouareuncomfortablemanuallyenteringcreditcardinformation,asabusinessowner,youcanrequestanotherformofpayment(anothercreditcard,debit,cash,etc.).

Force post transactions are disabled by defaultTheforcepostfunctionallowspriorauthorizationnumberstobemanuallykeyedin.Foryourprotection,thiscapabilityisdisabledbydefaultonyourterminal.Ifyouneedtoprocessaforceposttransactions,pleasecalltheTDMerchantSolutionsHelpDeskat1-800-363-1163toenablethecapabilityafterbeingauthenticated.ItisstronglyrecommendedthatyouprotecttheForcePostfunctionwithapassword.PleaseseetheMerchant Guideformoreinformation.

b) Fingertightentheantennaintotheantennaportonthebackoftheaccesspoint/repeater.

c) Adjusttheantennaangletoseeifthisprovidesabettersignaltotheterminal.

1. Physicalchangestoyourplaceofbusiness,suchasaddinganewwallorinstallinganelectronicdevice,mayreducethewirelesssignalstrengthandpreventtheconnection.

2. Physicalchangesoutsideyourplaceofbusinessmayimpactthesignalstrengthsuchasanewbuildingorinfrastructure.Trymovingyourterminalinyourplaceofbusinesstoseeifitcanconnectinanewlocation.Theiconwillturngreenwhenit’sconnected.
