In the past week, the Iranians

reaffirmed the reputation the

country’s kabaddi team has

been building in the last few

years. It’s a team of wrestlers,

converted into the raiders and

defenders and is the only one

that can topple India. Yet that

composition is what brings

about the difference between

the top two nat ions. Iran

sources its talent from ‘kushti,’

judo and taekwondo. But India

specialises. Each and every

player is born and bred into

the sport. The contrast was

evident in the final of the

Kabaddi Masters Dubai, where

India beat Iran 44-26. This was

the first time India was playing

Iran since the final of the 2016

World Cup. On that occasion,

in Ahmedabad, the hosts

needed the heroics of veteran

raider Ajay Thakur to help the

team come from behind to quell

the high-flying Iranians. But

those were different teams for

both India and Iran. As the big

the biggest event in the sport,

the Asian Games, the six-nation

series in Dubai was a testing

platform. The Indian squad had

five new faces from the team that

won the World Cup – all

experienced campaigners in the

Pro Kabaddi League that lived

up to the high standards of the

national team. It was a testimony

to the incredible depth available

to the national selectors. “It’s a

very difficult job to pick the team,”

says head coach Srinivas

Reddy. “Picking the 14 to make

the national team is one thing,

picking the starting seven is an

even bigger problem.” Just like

the Indians, Iran too came to

Dubai with a fresh squad as

coach Gholamreza

Mazandarani picked nine new

players. The Middle Eastern

nation’s transition though came

as a form of shock therapy, and

a necessity.

Dublin, July 1

In a b low to India' s

preparat ions for the

challenging tour of England,

key pacer Jasprit Bumrah and

off -spinner Washington

Sundar were ruled out of the

Twenty20 series, start ing

Tuesday, due to injuries.

Bumrah sustained an injury

to his left thumb while fielding

in the first Twenty20 against

I re land in Malahide on

Wednesday, and thus will miss

the three-match series in

England.

Bumrah, a key death overs

bowler, did not take part in the

optional nets on Thursday

and was benched for the

second match on Friday.

India had won the series 2-0

with ease.

But ahead of a sterner test

against England, it's a major

blow for India.

Bumrah, ranked 10th on

ICC's T20I Bowlers' ranking,

a long w i th leg sp inner

Yuzvendra Chahal and is

among the only two bowlers

in the top-ten of T20I rankings.

He, though, is expected to be

fit in time for the three-match

ODI series that begins in

Not t ingham on July 12.

Sundar has been ruled out of

the T20 series owing to a right

ankle injury. He sustained this

injury whilst playing football

during India's first practice

session in Malahide on

Tuesday. Replacements will

be named by the BCCI in due

course, with Shardul Thakur

and Deepak Thakur's names

being talked up. Meanwhile,

England too have made an

addition to their T20I squad,

but only for the first game in

Manchester. Batsman Dawid

Malan has been called in as

cover for pacer Tom Curran

who has a side strain, but the

latter is expected to be fit for

the last two games of the

series.

Bumrah, Sundar ruled out of T20

series against England due injury

Finance Secretary Shri Hasmukh Adhia said, GST revenue collection has risen to 95,610

trapped in a cage. After the suicide of his father-in-law, who faced the same

issues with his wife, Jan wants to control his own life again. His mother-in-law

used to decide about everything in her husband's life and she gets to decide

even now, after his death, in good faith that she is doing him a favour. Jan

knows very well he is on the same boat. The road he eventually decides to take

is quite absurd, adventurous and very uncomfortable.

'Land of Mine', a film set in 1945, tells the story of how a group of German

prisoners of war were brought to Denmark and forced to disarm the two million

land mines that had been scattered along the West Coast by the German

occupying forces. In charge of the Enfeebled young men performing the dangerous

task is Sergeant Carl Leopold Rasmussen. Like so many of his fellow Danes, he

has a deep hatred for the Germans after having suffered five years of hardships

during the occupation. He lets his rage rain down on the prisoners, until one

day a tragic incident makes him change his view of the enemy even if it may be

too late.

'Walk With Me' is the story of 25-year-old Thomas, heavily wounded while

deployed on mission in Helmand, Afghanista. At the local rehabilitation centre

he meets Sofie, an ascending ballerina from the Royal Danish Ballet who is

helping a relative regain strength after a long-term sickness. Thomas desperately

wants to get back into the field and feels a growing impatience as he fails to

progress as fast as he would like. When Sofie offers to help him with a more

intense rehabilitation plan, he accepts. Despite their differences they develop a

special bond and a mutual affection.

Teenager Kylian Mbappe

scored two goals in four minutes

to send France charging into

the World Cup quarter-finals

and Lionel Messi home with a

thrilling 4-3 win over Argentina

on Saturday. The 19-year-old

forward`s electric pace caused

Argentina problems all afternoon

and his twin strikes helped

France overturn a 2-1 deficit and

set up a quarter-final date with

Portugal or Uruguay, who play

later on Saturday. While Mbappe

was the most influential player

on the pitch, Argentina`s Angel

Di Maria and France full-back

Benjamin Pavard fought out a

private contest for the best goal

of the contest with two

magnificent long-range strikes.

Di Maria`s goal cancelled out

Antoine Griezmann`s early

penalty to put Argentina on equal

terms just before the break, while

Pavard`s in the 57th minute

levelled up the scores at 2-2
