As a congregation we are on a spiritual journey and process to add two or three additional shepherds to especially assist our current elders in shepherding the Lord’s flock at Edmond. A special handout is available in the foyer to assist us in this journey of spiritual discernment. In the New Testament, that journey included prayer and fasting and we want that example to be prevalent in our lives as we look at the qualities from God’s Word that make up the lives of these men and their wives. In addition to praying, we are encouraged to approach the man whose name we are submitting to explain why we think he would be an effective shepherd and to ask if he is willing to serve if selected. Recommendations should be turned in by Sunday, March 29, to any elder or dropped in the box in the conference room.
God has blessed this church family with so many men who carry these qualities in their lives. May He also bless us with spiritual discernment to discover those He would bring forward to serve at this time.
