Clay specialist Gao Yong Chao insists on using clay from Yellow Dragon Mountain. His studio is often approached by master teapot craftsmen for outsourcing jobs, using his clay

and craftsmen to make teapots and stamping the master's seal.

This teapot is from one of his more popular outsourcing projects recently, but stamped with his studio's name.

Gao's extensive knowledge on clay came from studying under Zhu Ze Wei, a top clay

specialist and author of the groundbreaking book on Zisha Clay.

This single-estate pu-erh is made from small-ish trees (est 80-120 yrs old) from the Xi Ban Shan region in Mengku, Lincang. It first offers bright nuanced floral aromatics with a touch of fresh hay, followed by a mellow, well-defined palate with rounded texture and good weight. More sweetness unfurls as the tea finishes finishes with appealing persistency and length. An award-winning blend of big-tree (est. 200-300 yrs old) leaves that have wowed both non-seasoned and seasoned Pu Er drinkers. This tea yields a rich yellow-gold liquor that is instantly approachable. The nose opens with bright aromatics of fig and yellow fruits with undercurrents of honey. The palate is decidedly fruity and floral with a sweet lingering finish.

2005 "Banzhang King"

One of the last products Lao Man Er produced before it was taken over in late 2005, then aged in

relatively dry Malaysian storage for 10 years.

Bittersweet with the signature Banzhang "MSG" finish, this is probably made with a blend of Lao Man Er (bitter) and Banzhang raw materials of

above-average quality for a mass-produced cake.
