  • Introduction

    The AMX|SchoolView Unified Campus Teacher client is a web based application. This application will allow for the control of the classroom projector, classroom room volume, the shared DVD players at the head end central location, and SAT/Cable tuners at the head end central location. This application provides features and functions not provided on the wall button control panel.

  • Web Interface—System Login

    To access the system login page, double click the shortcut on your computer’s desktop or enter the IP address in the URL address field of your web browser. In the event the shortcut is missing, please contact your technology contact within your campus.

    Enter “Username”. Enter “Password” (0-9). Click the “Sign In” button to access the application. In the event you do not remember your password, please contact your technology contact within your campus.

    Click the ”Login” Button.

    An incorrect password will generate the message below. Click “OK” and click the “Login” button and start over.

  • Web Interface—Main Menu & Room Controls

    To access any area of the control software, click on the navigation menu buttons.

    Click on navigation buttons to access each section of the web client.

    Volume: Left click and drag the volume slider to ramp volume up or down. Left-Lower volume Right-Higher volume Volume will not change until slider is released. Mute: Mutes classroom volume. Au-dio from outside the classroom will override mute. Client Status: Item will blink be-tween grey and blue indicating an ac-tive connection between this control interface and the network control hard-ware located at the projector. Note: Non-blinking means there is no connection and would result in no control of the projector equipment. Contact your Technology contact on campus.

  • Web Interface—Room Controls

    The “Room Controls” page will provide projector controls, video streaming channel selection, projector input selection and room volume control.

    Click the “Room Controls” button to access and control the projector, classroom sound, and video streams.

    Teacher PC: Typically Teachers Workstation PC

    Laptop-DocCam: Typically Document Camera or Second PC

    Campus Video: Typically streamed video from a

    central location such as the library.

    Aux Video: Typically a DVD Player in the Class-room

    Video Preview A preview window will be visible at all times within the web client. The preview video will of shared video resources such as but not limited to VCRs, DVD players, satellite receivers, cable boxes, or DVRs. This will NOT display a local classroom source such as a classroom DVD player. Channel Select Click the “Channel up/down” button to scan up or down through the campus/district channel line up. Default Channel Click the “Default Channel” button to return the preview window to the campus/district default streaming channel. Send to Projector Click the “Send to Projector” button to send preview video stream to the classroom projector.

    Power On: Turn on Classroom Projector

    Power Off: Turn off Classroom Projector

    Video Mute: Switch projector black screen to temporarily disrupt projected image. IMPORTANT: Placing the projector in Video Mute Mode does NOT save lamp life. Only use this in for brief in-stances.

    Teacher’s PC: Routes VGA and PC audio from wall input plate to the projector and ceiling speakers

    Laptop/Doc Cam: Routes Video & Audio from Right VGA Connection on the wall input plate to ceiling speakers

    Aux Video Input: Routes Video & Audio from RCA inputs on wall input plate to ceiling speakers

    Campus Video: Routes Streamed Video & Audio source to ceiling speakers

    Campus Audio: Routes Audio only from streamed audio source to ceiling speakers

    Note: Local sources will not appear in the video pre-view window other than Campus Video.

  • Click the “Video Sources” button reveal shared streaming resources.

    DVD Sources: Click a DVD source to access the web client DVD controls.

    DVD Controls: Transport Controls are available as follows:

    Rewind-Initiate a fast reverse on DVD movie

    Play-Play or Start DVD movie

    Stop-Stop DVD movie

    Pause-Pause or Freeze DVD movie

    Forward-Initiate a fast forward on DVD movie Important: This interface does not provide feedback to which function you have chosen. To know what State your video is in, please view the action of the DVD mov-ie on your classroom projector. Navigational Controls are as follows:

    Up-Navigate up in DVD movie menu

    Down-Navigate down in DVD movie menu

    Right-Navigate right in DVD movie menu

    Left-Navigate left in DVD movie menu Important: This interface does not provide feedback to which function you have chosen. Watch the DVD menu to navigate properly. 10-Digit Keypad: These buttons are used to directly enter chapters and titles of DVD movies. Note: These buttons are rarely used.

  • Web Interface—DVD Controls

    Orange Button: An Orange button is an indicator that this specific shared DVD Player is currently being used by another classroom. Important: Control of the player is not possible until control is relinquished by controlling classroom.

    Pop-Up: Clicking on an Orange button will generate a pop-up window which will inform you that the source select-ed is in use by another classroom. You may continue and view the video stream with no control or Click “No” to cancel the request.

    Web Interface—Video Sources (Satellite, Cable, Fiber Receivers) Continued...

    Orange Button: An Orange button is an indicator that this specific shared receiver is currently being used by an-other classroom. Important: Control of the receiver is not possible until control is relinquished by controlling classroom.

    Pop-Up: Clicking on an Orange button will generate a pop-up window which will inform you that the source select-ed is in use by another classroom. You may continue and view the video stream with no control or Click “No” to cancel the request.

  • Web Interface—2-Way Communications (Intercom)

    Intercom: To access the 2-Way Intercom feature, select the “Intercom” button.

    Press to Talk: Left click and hold the button as you speak. Release to receive communication from far end. Place a Call: Select the call destination by clicking the red dot next to the location to call. Green indicates location is selected. Left click the “Press to Talk” button when speaking. Another Classroom: Select the “Another Classroom” red dot to reveal pull down list of all other rooms on campus. Select the room to call. Press the “Start New Call” button.

    Hands Free: Select the “Hands Free” button to initiate the hands free function. You may speak without using the “Press to Talk” button only when the far side has stopped speaking. You must wait until they have released their button to speak. Blue is Inactive. Gray is Active. Do Not Disturb: Select the “Do Not Disturb” button when you do not wish to be interrupted with a page. In case of emergencies, admin has the ability to override this feature. Hang Up Call: Select this button to disconnect call.

    Incoming Call: A pop-up will appear when an incoming intercom call has been initiated from the front office. Click the “Yes” to answer the call or “No” to reject the call. Note: If you have selected the “Do not disturb” feature, Admin will be aware of your setting and may override if necessary. Important: An incoming call will be heard if the web client is not open. Although it must be open in order to re-spond. Additional: The incoming call pop-up will appear regardless of the area of the web client the user is currently

  • Energy Management: Click the button to reveal class-room computer control options.

    Web Interface—Energy Management

    Click the “Shutdown Now” button to power down all computers within your classroom. A pop-up will appear on each computer allowing for 15 minutes of additional time. Users can power computer up and log back in if needed. Select and touch a button to delay shutdown by a specific amount of time. Repeatedly clicking a button does not stack time. Pressing “DELAY 2 HRS” twice does not allow for 4 additional hours.

  • Toolbar Icon: Double click the SchoolView Icon to open the classroom control toolbar.

    Name: Enter your username. Password: Enter your password. Click “Select Room” button to reveal the pull down menu with a list of rooms.

    Select the classroom you are currently in and wish to control.

  • Click the power icon to turn classroom projector on or off. Yellow indicates the classroom display is ON.

    Click the “Teacher PC” button to switch the classroom display to the teacher’s computer.

    Click the “Laptop-DocCam” button to switch the classroom display to the 2nd VGA input which be used for an addition-al computer or a document camera.

    Move the volume slider up or down to increase or decrease room volume.

    Click the “X” button close toolbar or to close pop-up menus.

  • Click the “Campus Video” button to switch the classroom display to the streaming video input.

    Click the “Channel UP/Down ” buttons to select from streamed video sources.

    Click the “Video Sources ” button to reveal a slide out menu listing distributed streamed video sources.

    Click the “Click to select Source ” pull down to reveal a list of distributed streamed video sources.

  • Toolbar Control—Taskbar

    Taskbar Icon: Right click on the icon to reveal toolbar features.

    List of Features: Rollover with your mouse to select a feature.

    Select Room: Select the room you are currently occupying. Note: Selecting the wrong room will result in controlling the display and sound of a different classroom.

    Intercom Options: Rollover to reveal inter-com features. Hands Free: Places the room in Hands Free mode. Any call coming in will be automatically answered and the Push to Talk feature is not required for talk back. Do Not Disturb: Places the room in Do Not Disturb mode. Any person initiating a call will be prompted that the room they are calling is in this mode. Hang Up Call: Use this feature to disconnect a current 2-way conversation. Note: Do Not Disturb can be overridden by Admin in case of emergencies. Note: During a hands free call, Hang Up Call is not required to discontinue a call.

  • 4.3 “ Touch Screen– Login

    Touch anywhere on the touch screen to reveal the login Pop-Up.

    Touch the Username field to reveal the on-screen keyboard.

    Touch the on-screen keys to enter your username. Touch “DONE” to when complete. Touch “ABORT” to cancel. Touch “BKSP” to backspace.

    Touch the Password field to reveal the on-screen 10 digit keypad.

    Touch the on-screen keys to enter your password. Touch “DONE” to when complete. Touch “ABORT” to cancel. Touch “CLEAR” clear your current entry.

  • 4.3 “ Touch Screen– Main Menu

    Touch the navigation buttons to access each section of the 4.3” interface.

    Touch the “PROJECTOR CONTROLS” button to reveal the classroom display controls menu.

    Volume: Touch the “minus/plus” or drag the volume slider to ramp volume up or down. Up-Higher volume Down-Lower volume Volume will not change until slider is released. Mute: Mutes classroom volume. Audio from outside the classroom will override mute. Exit: Locks the touch panel returning it to the login or splash page.

    Power On: Turn on Classroom Projector

    Channel Select Touch the “Channel up/down” button to scan up or down through the campus/district channel line up. Default Channel Touch the “Default Channel” button to return the preview window to the campus/district default streaming channel.

  • 4.3 “ Touch Screen– Local Sources

    Touch the “LOCAL SOURCES” to reveal the pull down menu of all classroom source selections.

    Touch the source to be displayed on your classroom display. Campus Audio will not turn the display on, but will allow streaming background music into the classroom. Audio will only be heard if background music has been set to play. Campus Video will show a default streamed source or the last streamed sourced selected and viewed by the classroom .

    4.3 “ Touch Screen– Distributed Video Sources

    Touch the “VIDEO SOURCES” to reveal the pull down menu of all shared streamed video sources.

    Touch the source to be displayed on your classroom display. A control page will be displayed for the selected source. An Orange colored button indicates it is currently being used by another classroom. You can still view but with no control. You can gain control once the current user releases control.

  • 4.3 “ Touch Screen– DVD Controls

    Keypad Controls: This button reveals a 10 digit keypad for going directly to a DVD chapter. Note: These buttons are rarely used.

    THIS DOES NOT CONTROL A DVD PLAYER LOCATED IN THE CLASSROOM. It is for control of shared distributed streamed DVD players located in the video rack typically in the library. DVD Controls: Transport Controls are available as follows:

    Your system may not have Intercom capabilities. Touch the “MORE” button to reveal additional features.

    Intercom: Touch this button to select a location to call. Select Location:: Touch the “SELECT LOCATION” field to reveal a pop-up list of locations to call.

    Push to Talk:: Touch and hold the button as you speak. Release to receive communication from far end. End Call: Select this button to disconnect call. Hands Free: Select the “Hands Free” button to initiate the hands free function. You may speak without using the “Press to Talk” button only when the far side has stopped speaking.     Display On/Off: Turn on Classroom Projector

    Volume Up: Press and release the volume button to ramp volume up.

    Volume Down: Press and release the volume button to ramp volume up.

    Audio Mute: Mutes local and streaming audio sources. (Note: During a broadcast event, the classroom will un-mute)

    Input: Press his button to cycle through local inputs and the streamed input. Stop on streamed input and use Channel Up/Down buttons to cycle through streamed sources.

    Channel Up: Press to cycle up through stream sources.

    Channel Down : Press to cycle down through stream sources

    PTT : For use with our 2-Way Intercom feature. Press and hold to talk to the front office. Press once to start call to front office.

    (Note: If the classroom is set to hands free mode, once a call is started with the PTT button, it is no longer needed to communicate.)

    VGA Input 1 Computer In-PC VGA Input to Projector Audio In– PC Audio to Classroom Sound System Note: The input plate does not extract audio from the HDMI cable/signal. Analog audio must be supplied to the plate from the video source.
