Those who could not at- tend, but also helped and donated items and money to our school, you too, are appreciated for helping in your own way. Saint Pius X Catholic School will continue to improve, grow and develop with an exemplary Catholic education and foundation. We still have a few items up for bid. There is a live auction-taking place now until this Saturday, April 14 at 9pm. Check the website, newsletter and monthly calen- dar for times and dates. Also, please be reminded that front school parking lot is not an area for pickup or drop off carpool. Parents should be parking at the brown house if they wish to walk up to get their children. In addition, the front area by the bronze tiger is not an area where students and chil- dren should be running and playing. I am asking that all be respectful and not allow children to climb on the tiger as well as running around. It is not safe. Enrollment for 2018-19 school year is still in process. Child Safety Tip: You can help keep your children safe by knowing where they spend their time. Get to know the adults who show up at the various locations in the com-munity where children gather and where they play together. Be wary of any adult who seems more interested in creating a relationship with a child than with other adults. Pay attention when an adult seems to single out a particular child for a rela-tionship or for special attention. Warning signs include treats, gifts, vacations, or oth-er special favors offered only to one specific child.

St. Pius X Church & School wish to thank The Catholic Foundation for its $30,500 grant that will assist us in updating our Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) on our campus facilities. In July of 2018, two of our staff members will be traveling on a mission trip to Uganda. Mrs. Lalanne and Ms. Wahlstrom will travel with a team from Church of the Epiphany in Richardson to work in Uganda with an orphanage and a Batwa pygmy group. Mrs. La-lanne has led the trip 5 times over the last ten years. Ms. Wahlstrom will be traveling to Africa for the first time! Because our virtue in the month of February highlights ‘Love’…we are asking for prayers, support, and love for this trip!
Here are some ways to help: Pray for us daily as we travel! We will be traveling from July 3 – 18th. Follow our travels through the SPX Facebook page. Ms. Wahlstrom will be posting
updates and pictures of our trip. A follow up newsletter article will happen when we return in August! Rosary Club members will be making rosaries for us to take along and distribute! 8th graders and their prayer partners will do some service in the form of ‘pre-work’
for a craft and bible story that we present while there. We will have ‘change for a change’ jars posted in the office and in different class-
rooms. If students want to donate change, they are welcome to do so in the month

Safe Environment Training in English – Family of Faith (New Volunteer Training) * Five options: April 17, 2018 – Media Center English: (i.e. School Parents, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Ministry Leadership, and Ushers etc.) 6:30pm – Interviews and photo IDs taken; followed by the safe environment training. There is a $5 fee for anyone that may need a replacement ID. Training begins at 6:30pm.
