Introduction
In this enjoyable teaching activity, students play games of bingo to practice clothes vocabulary.
Procedure
Give each student a bingo card. If there are more than 12 students, you can give two students the same card or have students share a card.
Explain that you are going to call out items of clothing and that if the students have a matching picture on their bingo card, they cross it out. When a student has crossed out all nine items of clothing, they shout 'Bingo'.
Take a word card from the box or bag one at a time and say the word aloud.
When a student shouts 'Bingo', ask them to say the clothes on their card. Check that they are the ones you have already called out.
If the clothes are correct, the student wins the round. If not, continue the game.
As an alternative or extension, divide the students into groups of four and give each group 12 bingo cards and a copy of the word cards. Students then play the game amongst themselves with students taking it in turns to be the bingo caller.
