Teaching and Learning for
New Faculty Teaching and Learning Certificate for New Faculty
Certificate
The Teaching and Learning Certificate for New
Faculty Program is intended to assist faculty in
planning a well-articulated, systematized path for
their professional development. The Certificate
for New Faculty provides evidence that faculty
have attained a basic set of essential skills and
knowledge needed for teaching at SUNY and
elsewhere.
Completion of all four core courses and the
submission of an e-portfolio summarizing the
participant’s work in each course is required to
earn the Teaching & Learning Certificate for New
Faculty. Most courses are six weeks and all
are in an asynchronous and online format using
Blackboard Learn. See details of delivery and
activities within each course description. Each
course will require approximately 1 - 3 hours of
“outside” course work per week.
