Teachers will learn about phonemic awareness and SSP Fast Code Mapping (an extended form of phonics) as they teach ! Every child learns to read, write and spell by using the activities, and you, the Condcutor, are able to see why and pick it apart. The more YOU learn, the more empowered you become. The program offers daily PD ! Alll planned, even down to classroom organisation. You (the teacher) learn more and more not only about your students but about the learning to read, write and spell process, as you go through the activities. A new concept, but one that really works. You will realise how much you don’t know yet, and this helps you to feel excited about learning more - rather than feeling daunted by it- as you are following a routine, and not expected to be the expert. You will become more and more confident and this new approach will allow you to focus far more on actually getting to know your students. Because the program organises your students learning, and is fully differentiated, you will find it far easier to ‘manage’ behaviour as the students are interested, and busy. The more you learn about yourself and your students, the more you will bring of yourself to each session. So the program will make you a better teacher, and you will make the program even better! Collaboration between other teachers is also a huge part of the Wiring Brains Education Approach. As you become more confident, others will come and watch you, and then you help them to get started ! Use the assessment tools to record when students move up a Code Level within Phase 2> However you will know what they achieved during each session as you can SEE it ! You could actually tell any visitor exactly how each student tackles problems, their strengths and weaknesses, and students can tell you this as well- about themselves and each other! You are not the only person becoming more and more self-reflective- your students are too ! You can see where, every day! Every day THEY know what they achieved, and what they need to do the next day ! It really is ‘Visible Learning’ It is embedded into the SSP program!

Self reflection is a humbling process. It is essential to accept that you only knowwhat you know, and keep working to find out more. It is essential that you

find out why you think, say and do certain things, and how thisimpacts on your teaching. Then be an even better one.

I know you have been given program after program to use but SSP really is different. The program has been designed to not only ensure that students get the best

outcomes, but the overall ‘Wiring Brains Education’ Approach will empower YOU. You WILL become a kinder, more knowledgeable, and happier teacher.

My Number 1 Tip for Teachers

Miss EmmaThe Reading Whisperer

The Conductor is in a position to evaluate how every student is going, not just because of their physical position in the room

and the way the students are seated, but because the SSProutines allow the Conductor to assess student knowledge,

give instant feedback, and ascertain ‘gaps.’ As SSP is differentiated, the program meets the needs of all, and the teacher can extend

and support them all. No lines / students waiting for help!

Fcuses as much on their learning jounrney as data/ results/ academic outcomes. Consider social, emotional and verbal

intellgience. How far did they travel? SSP defines this. It breaks down the

learning to read, write and spell process thatis essential for all students.

You have your Scope and Sequenceready made, based on an

Intervention Approach. This then changes when the

students move into SSP Phase 3as the students are no longer learning to

and Cracking Comprehension.

The Literacy Block has been planned to enable you to spend more time teaching and less time planning sessionsn

or assessing students. SSP is fully differentiated.

Teachers will learn about phonemic awareness and SSP Fast Code Mapping (an extended form of phonics) as they teach ! Every child learns to read, write and spell by using the activities, and you, the Condcutor, are able to see why

and pick it apart. The more YOU learn, the more empowered you

become. The program offers daily PD !

Alll planned, even down to classroom organisation. You (the teacher) learn more and more not only about your students but about the learning to read, write and spell process, as you go through the activities.
