Goal: To encourage and help others through training, coaching, and volunteering. Personal skills and Interests: People say that I am kind, enthusiastic and have a good sense of humor! I like working with others to learn and try new things in their life and to be good self-advocates. I love pets and have many interests including cooking, gardening, reading, dancing, singing, and making crafts. Activities and experience Made bracelets to donate as gifts to patients in Breast Cancer Treatment Centers in the Boston Area. Volunteer gardener in community garden in Somerville. Assistant Manager at Vinfen Corporate Office Cafeteria in Cambridge. Performed various catering duties for guest functions. Activity Team leader for Bay Cove Human Services. Assisted others in various community events. Completed a 10-week Public Speaking Training Course in June 2021.

Personal skills and Interests:I love talking with others and keeping up on current events.People say that I am very approachable and have a good sense of humor!I enjoy reading nonfiction books, watching movies and sports, and going out to eat at restaurants. I like researching and learning new things.

Background:I am now dependent upon care from others due to a stroke in 2016. From my own experience, I want to educate others on sensitivity, dignity, and advocacy.

Personal skills and Interests:I like talking with and helping people. I am hardworking and I enjoy being part of a group that creates change. I have good computer skills. I like traveling and biking and I enjoy new experiences.

Activities and experience

Member of Self Advocacy Group sponsored by the Price Center in Newton, MA since 2014.The group has worked on several projects including lobbying Town Officials to create safer crosswalks.

Volunteered for State Representative for her campaign distributing information to voters.

Traveled with my family to a number of places in New England.

Activity Assistant for preschool and afterschool programs.

Completed a 5-week Public Speaking Training Course in November 2019.

Assisted the Massachusetts Developmental Services Agency in two outreach presentations to Providers and to an Advisory Board to promote the Public Speaking Course for individuals with disabilities, December 2019.

Worked with Massachusetts Developmental Services staff in developing a new remote based Public Speaking curriculum for individuals. November 2020 – March 2021.

Co-Instructor for one Session of Public Speaking Class, January 2021
