Entry Requirements You must be keen to work in the education sector and willing to work in a team environment whilst also being capable on your own and using your own initiative. You are expected to have at least basic literacy and numeracy skills on which the Apprenticeship will build. Online initial assessments in maths, English and ICT are to be completed. Progression Routes Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools or undertake other related qualifications at an Intermediate/Advanced level such as Playwork. Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Entry Requirements Level 3 learners are expected to have some prior experience and/or qualifications relevant to the support teaching sector for example: Work experience within a support teaching role Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Online initial assessments in maths, English and ICT are to be completed. This is to assess the level of all applicants. Progression Routes Advanced apprentices, with support and opportunities in the workplace, can progress onto a foundation degree related to support teaching and learning. There is a clear progression route from learning support roles in England to Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) status and foundation degrees. Those able to meet the initial teacher training entry requirements can go on to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools Teaching, Training & Education Learner Information This qualification has been developed to cover the full range of roles and responsibilities learning support staff in schools may perform and provide these individuals with the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge and experience they will need to become a Teaching Assistant or Playworker. Entry Requirements This qualification is suitable for individuals already working in the sector who are looking to gain qualifications and skills to deliver a quality service to children and young people. Online initial assessments in maths, English and ICT are to be completed. This is to assess the level of all applicants. Progression Routes This qualification intends to prepare learners for employment in Playwork environments in roles such as Playworker, Senior Playworker or Centre Supervisor. Learners can also progress to a foundation degree. You will be allocated a personal Teaching and Learning Co-ordinator and will have access to our online study area where you will find all your learning materials. Your Teaching and Learning Co-ordinator will provide you with personal tutorial support and assessment at pre-arranged times. Assessment is through a variety of methods including observations in the workplace, witness testimonies, product evidence, professional discussions, assignments, projects and case studies. All evidence will be logged to your electronic portfolio.

What are the benefits of employing an Apprentice?

FW Solutions work with you to create an advert for your vacancy. This is placed on the National Apprenticeship Service website and the FW Solutions website free of charge. Vacancies are also regularly posted on our social media platforms and sent to local sixth form careers departments. We telephone interview all applicants to filter out the best match to your vacancy.We then set up formal interviews on your behalf at times suitable for you. We regularly receive CVs for candidates looking for a suitable Apprenticeship position so we will also use this database of learners to make sure we find you the best possible match.Once you have chosen a successful applicant you follow your own organisation’srecruitment procedure. FW Solutions will then arrange a suitable time to meet at your company to begin the Apprenticeship.

Training for existing staffFW Solutions provide all qualifications as a full Apprenticeship or as a Stand Alone qualification. There is no upper age limit for apprenticeships.Government funding for apprenticeships is available for learners 16 and over who are employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week. If the eligibility criteria for an Apprenticeship is not met, qualifications can be completed as Stand Alone witha 24+ loan or be self-financed (please contact the office for more information).
