Restricted Products - One-Off Process US Distributor Bulletin #232 Date Effective: REVISED 6/21/02 (revisions in red)

DVARs - If the Reseller purchasing product through Distribution is a Direct Cisco Partner (Cisco DVAR), Restricted Product One offs are only required if the product is not on the US Wholesale Price List. If the product to be ordered is not on the US Wholesale Price List, Restricted one-off approval is required for all DVARs. This means it requires MCO approval for quote or sale. Premier Restricted Products: Products require MCO approval for quote or sale if the reseller is not at Premier or Pre-Premier status. High end Restricted Products: These products require MCO approval for quote or sale for all resellers buying through distribution (both Premier and Authorized). Typically, these products do not appear on the wholesale price list. Technology Restricted Products: Restricted by training or specialization. Requires Ops Director approval if partner does not have training or Specialization. Use Partner Locator (http://tools.cisco.com/WWChannels/LOCATR/jsp/partner_locator.jsp) to determine partners specialization status. Email [email protected] with any questions. Quoting Prices to non-Premier Resellers for Premier Restricted Products Distribution sales people are not allowed to quote prices for premier restricted products to resellers who are not authorized by Cisco as a Premier Reseller or higher regardless of what vertical market the reseller is addressing (i.e., federal, state, local governments, education, ISP, etc.). To provide a quote, a restricted approval deviation must be authorized by the appropriate MCO. Refer to Cisco’s published Premier, Gold, and Silver reseller list that is published weekly. Resellers not on this list should be referred back to CAM. Sales of Premier Restricted Products to non-Premier Resellers Cisco’s MCOs can authorize a non-Premier reseller, on a restricted price deviation (single transaction basis), to purchase premier restricted product. Cisco will provide to Cisco’s sales champions written confirmation of each authorization to sell restricted products to non-Premier resellers. Authorization will include reseller name, end user name, CAM name and specific Cisco SKUs and quantity of each SKU. If you have any questions, please contact the local CAM. Quoting Prices of High End or Technology Restricted Products Distribution sales people are not allowed to quote prices for high-end restricted products to resellers regardless of what vertical market the reseller is addressing (i.e., federal, state, local governments, education, ISP, etc.). To provide a quote, a restricted price deviation must be authorized by the appropriate MCO. Sales of High End or Technology Restricted Products to resellers Cisco’s MCOs can authorize a reseller, on a restricted price deviation (single transaction basis), to purchase high-end restricted product.

**(Optical) ANY requests for Optical purchases of the Cisco ONS 15xxx through Distribution requires final Restricted One Off approval from [email protected]. Once the price deviation is approved by the MCO it should be submitted for final approval from [email protected]. This does not mean it will automatically be approved. The Optical alias has to review each request case by case. NOTE: There is Optical product available through distribution (METRO 15xx) Notice it is the METRO 15xx…not the Cisco ONS 15xxx product.

Unity Cheat Sheet 5/2/2002 Lance Fiveland System Engineer

[email protected] I believe I have narrowed the Unity product line down to a few questions you can ask any reseller or customer. This should cover 80-85% of the configurations out there. If you are finding that the customer requirements are extremely complex and are beyond this document then please involve a Unity area specialist right away. Let me know if you see any errors, corrections or have any questions. For New Accounts start here: First Question: Do you require Unified Messaging (UM) or Voice Mail (VM) and how many users/sessions do you require? Here is the list of part numbers that correspond to question one:

UNITYU31-50USR4 Unity Unified Messaging, 50 users (includes 4 sessions) $8,000

UNITYU31-100USR8 Unity Unified Messaging, 100 users (includes 8 sessions) $15,500

UNITYU31-200USR12 Unity Unified Messaging, 200 users (includes 12 sessions) $31,000

UNITYU31-300USR16 Unity Unified Messaging, 300 users (includes 16 sessions) $45,000

UNITYU31-500USR24 Unity Unified Messaging, 500 users (includes 24 sessions) $75,000

The following two part numbers are only used for Cisco tracking purposes. Treat the parts like you do when you see a Supervisor IOS image. It is required to have one of these numbers only when you order.

UNITY-IP Unity for CallManager - If customer is putting this into a Cisco telephony environment select this part - IP Only Integrations $0.00

UNITY-PBX/D Unity for PBX/Dual Switch Integrations - If customer is putting this into a Legacy PBX environment select this part. $0.00

UNITY-LIC-IPG-31 Unity, used for SW feature License Upgrades $0.00 Second Question: What hardware platform will you be running this on? (There are several choices here)

a) If the customer is using Strictly Call Manager and Cisco IP phones then use the Unity MCS-78X5 servers.

b) If the customer has legacy PBX’s that you need to integrate, use the Unity Dell Servers or the new certified IBM Servers.

c) Tape drive is no longer on the pre-configured versions. If customer wants a tape drive they can purchase the hot-swap tape drive option below.

Here is the list of part numbers that correspond to question two:

UNITY-SVR-7827-1A MCS-7827 (W2K included) $7,500

UNITY-SVR-7837-1A MCS-7837 rack; 512MB; RAID 1 (W2K included) $14,500

UNITY-SVRL570-2A Compaq ML570 rack; 4GB; RAID 1(x2); RAID 5; Quad CPU; (W2K included) $86,000

UNITY-IBM-DAT Tape Drive for IBM x232 $1,595

UNITY-PWR-US Power Cord for US $0 One of the main reasons to go with Dell, IBM or Compaq servers is when the customer has to add any Voice cards. (UNITY-D/41EPCI, UNITY-D/120JCTLS and UNITY-D/240PCI-T1) These cards are physically too big for the MCS servers.

Page 40: Tech Data Cisco Survival GuideAIR-BR350-x-K9 TD# 428040, 428023,428007 350 Series 11Mbps, DSSS Bridge $1299 AIR-SSB350-x-K9 TD# 428046, 428047,428045 Wireless Building-to-Building

Third Question: The following question only applies if you are connecting to a legacy PBX, if not you can skip this question.

a) How many ports of Analog Voice will you be connecting to the PBX from the Call Manager Server?

a. The Dialogic cards only come in 4 port, 12 port and 24 port configurations b. When you order more than one card you will need the Voice board connector

cable to connect the cards internally inside the system. b) What PBX will you be connecting too?

a. If it is a Nortel/Avaya/Lucent Digital PBX you will also require the PBXLink (Calista) product. SEE NOTES ON LAST PAGE FOR UPDATED INFO

b. All other legacy PBX’s only need the Voice cards and Cable. Here is the list of part numbers that correspond to question three:

UNITY-D/41EPCI D/41E PCI (1 PCI slot per board) $1,600

UNITY-D/120JCTLS D/120JCT LS (1 PCI slot per board) $4,995

UNITY-D/240PCI-T1 D/240PCI-T1 (1 PCI slot per board) $8,195

UNITY-CTBUS-4 4 Drop H.100 PCI Voice Board Connector Cable $150

UNITY-CTBUS-8 8 Drop H.100 PCI Voice Board Connector Cable $225

UNITY-CTBUS-12 12 Drop H.100 PCI Voice Board Connector Cable $300

UNITY-PBXLINK-1 4 - 24 port Lucent PBX Link (External unit. 0 PCI slots) or 4 – 20 port Nortel PBX Link (External unit. 0 PCI slots) $3,900

UNITY-PBXLINK-2 4 - 40 port Lucent PBX Link (External unit. 0 PCI slots) or 4 – 48 port Nortel PBX Link (External unit. 0 PCI slots) $4,900

Those three questions will cover most of your basic Unity configurations. Next I will cover upgrades and additional part numbers. For existing accounts and upgrades:

Page 41: Tech Data Cisco Survival GuideAIR-BR350-x-K9 TD# 428040, 428023,428007 350 Series 11Mbps, DSSS Bridge $1299 AIR-SSB350-x-K9 TD# 428046, 428047,428045 Wireless Building-to-Building

Question one: Do you require additional sessions? If customer has more users than are listed they need to purchase additional licenses. These costs are for each additional user. So if a customer purchased Unity-UM3-200USR12 and has 210 users he/she needs to purchase 10 additional user licenses. They would purchase Qty 10 of part number Unity-UM12-USR.

UNITY-UM4-USR Unity, Incremental users for 4-session UM system $160

Question five: Do you require the Real Speak or Multi-language upgrade? - The Real Speak upgrade is for those customers that want a real voice on their voice mail

system versus the computerized voice that comes standard with the Unity package. You cannot mix and match the old voice with the Real Speak. If they go with Real Speak and TTS then they must match up the session count with the amount of Real Speak/TTS ports. (See Notes on last page regarding Real Speak)

UNITY-RSADD2 Unity, Additional 2 sessions of Real Speak $5,000

UNITY-TTSADD2 Text To Speech, 2 sessions TTS3000 (max of 6 total) $2,800 Question six: Do you require the SIO Kit? It is simply a RS-232 cable and adapters needed for Serial (SMDI) Integrations. This part number must be included with all orders that will be serial. The Reseller will need to tell you if this is the case. UNITY-SIO-KIT SIO Kit (required for serial and PBX Link integrations) $125.00 Question Seven: What are these other part numbers used for? AMIS-A is an archaic telephony protocol that allows you to transfer voice mails from an old legacy system to a new one. Very few customers will ever use this product. It is nothing more than a piece of paper with a key that unlocks the features within Unity for them to use.

UNITY-AMIS Unity, AMIS-A networking $1,900 IP2DUAL and DUAL2IP are almost never used but in case the customer needs to rekey their dongles (USB or Parallel) they will need to use the following part numbers:

UNITY-IP2DUAL IP To Dual Migration $250

UNITY-DUAL2IP Dual to IP Migration $250

UNITY-USER-GUIDE Unity User Guide (package of 25) $250

UNITY-QUICK-REF1 Quick Reference Card-Alternate Conversation 1 (pkg 25) $160

UNITY-VMI-SESSION

Message access console provides a dedicated voice mail inbox that delivers unified messaging functionality to customers with non-Exchange network environments (e.g. GroupWise, etc.) $25

UNITY-BRIDGE-2.0 Provides integration with legacy Octel 250/350 VM systems that use Octel Analog Networking for migration to IP telephony $0

UNITY-BRIDGE-4 4 Sessions of Unity Bridge Software $7,000

UNITY-TR114-US 4 Port Brooktrout board for Unity Bridge $5,495 Last but not least – These are a few tidbits to be aware of regarding Unity I want to bring up is the use of the Dongle’s and Key’s. With Version 3.1 the customer will now get a paper with a URL in the box and they will upgrade their keys by following the instructions on the Web. When version 3.2 ships, the use of Key’s and Dongle’s should be a thing of the past. That should be around the June 2002 timeframe. Keep in mind that when you purchase a VM system it comes with all the software loaded and ready to go. You get a full turnkey system…This is not the case with the UM system. You will get all the CD’s and you will have to load them all yourself. Each UM system comes with the following software: Windows 2000 and Service Pak2, Internet Explorer 5.5 with Service Pak1, PC Anywhere 10, Outlook 2000 ICSUNITY is a separate product – DO NOT USE UNITY for the ICS gear. Do a search on ICSUNITY-??? for the correct products to use.

Q. What capability does the Cisco Unity Bridge enable? A. Cisco Unity Bridge is a powerful message networking option available with Unity 3.1(3). With Cisco Unity Bridge, users can send subscriber-to-subscriber messages to anyone in their organization who resides on a TDB-based Avaya or Octel voice mail system supporting Octel Analog Networking (a.k.a. analog OctelNet). In addition, users have the added capability to simply "reply to" to a networked message with a single touchtone key.

Unity 2.4.6 will NO LONGER be sold – Customers with small business’s may prefer to use the older version but the biggest reason seems to be it’s compatibility with Exchange 5.5 Even though there was a document floating around on the Web stating you can put the UM and VM on one system this will not be supported by TAC and you will be on your own should you decide to go this route. FYI, here is the list of TTS3000 sessions shipped with Unity systems: * 4, 8 and 12 = 2 sessions of TTS * 16 and 24 = 4 sessions of TTS * 32, 40 and 48 = 6 sessions of TTS Customers with 2 and 4 ports of TTS3000 may order additional sessions, as long as their total number of sessions does not exceed 12. Customers may also order up to 12 sessions of RealSpeak with any of these systems.

Adam Graveno provided the following: Each Unity that ships has a KS# associated with it. This is the serial # of the SW that validates it as a legal copy. This is the # that is referenced anytime a user or reseller wants to purchase an upgrade, service, etc. for the system. It is located on the Key itself that is attached to the parallel port on the system and/or by doing a Key Dump within the SW. When you place an order for an update (i.e., the SIO integration for NEC 2000), the KS# is required and they will send you a Key Update Code that will allow the reseller to run a batch file that will allow that feature to be used on the system with Serial # that is turned in. The idea is that all features and functions actually ship with the original CD/SW. We control those features with keys that we program in the SW. Here are the URL's the customer MUST use to register the Unity Key before sftwre install and use.
