Microsoft Silverlight is a web browser plugin that Provides support for rich internet applications such as Animation, Vector graphics and Audio and Video play back

The current version 5 was released in December 2010

Silverlight was developed under the codename Windows Presentation Foundation/Everywhere (WPF/E).

It is Compatible with multiple web browser products used on Microsoft Windows and MacOS operating systems.

Silverlight is a cross-browser, cross-platform and cross-device plugin that renders XAML and exposes a programming model.

XAML is an XML-based presentation model.
