Emergency Communications 101
In the event of an emergency event or campus closing, the university uses multiple, redundant methods to communicate with our students including:
The TechAlert! System:• Voicemail, email and text
Updates to the following Web sites:• www.ttu.edu
• www.today.ttu.edu
Updates to our Social Media sites:• Twitter.com/TexasTech
• Facebook.ttu.edu
Emergency Communications 101
• TechAlert• Students are automatically enrolled with their primary phone number and eRaider
email address upon registration (this could be yours!)
• Students should sign in to the system as soon as possible to update their records using their eRaider user ID and password
• Up to four phone numbers can be entered, with TTY/TDD for hearing impaired and Text Messaging options
• TechAlert is a mass notification system, it is not an “In Case of Emergency” contact record for issues regarding individual students.
Emergency Communications 101
TechAlert will only be activated in the event of a school closing or an actual campus emergency
Examples of Past Alerts Severe Weather Campus closing due to snow System Tests
