Techlog 2011.1 Release Notes Introduction
Techlog delivers an industry leading wellbore software platform that provides petrophysicists,
geoscientists and engineers with a fully integrated, interactive, easy to use analysis tool for
interpretation of all wellbore data types (e.g. core, logs, images, photos…). Using Techlog, these
different disciplines can collaborate effectively by accessing and incorporating the same data into
the workflows; thus fully capitalizing on previous data investments.
Techlog 2011.1 represents significant development efforts, with a particular focus being devoted to
the user experience. A complete refresh of the user interface with the Techlog T-bar and the
introduction of new icons ensure that Techlog is even more intuitive and easy to use. The powerful
customization capabilities are available at different levels of granularity—from the corporate
perspective, within a project and down to the end user.
All of the new functionalities and enhancements are described in more details in these release
notes. Of special interest is the new Pore Pressure Prediction module, which incorporates industry
standard methods to compute the safe mud weight window and establish the fracture gradient to
ensure safe drilling operations. In addition, the implementation of GeoFrame ELAN functionality
into Techlog has augmented the previously named Quanti.min and replaced it with the new module
Quanti.Elan.
We hope you enjoy Techlog 2011.1 as much as we do.

What’s new in the Modules?
Application Workflow Interface (AWI)
The Workflow overview
The vertical view:
o Allows the user to navigate easily between workflows and methods with a tree view
system.
o Possibility to load/create (right mouse click on the first branch of the tree) a new
workflow into this window, it will appear as a new group (new branch in the tree).
Each workflow can get its own inputs, zonation and parameters.
o Possibility to quickly define the methods properties and the workflow properties
(display, save, save and display, enable, remove, automatic launch, pause, close).
o Method to be edited can be directly selected from the left pane.
o There are now properties for each workflow; user can get to them by clicking on the
workflow name in the tree view.
Inputs table view:
o Summary of all inputs for the workflow selected in the manager view (table view
with possibility to filter on each column), possibility to fill up/down, transpose, etc.
o Each time the user changes an input in a method it refreshes the global view and
each time the user changes the current value of an input in the global view, the
method gets updated.
Parameters view: ability to define a parameter as “Global” for each workflow (workflow
parameter). The constant used in the overview will be applied in all method of the selected
workflow regardless the input dataset, zones, etc.
Outputs: Summary table of all outputs for the selected workflow with possibility to
enable/disable outputs rename, etc. (most of the properties already available in outputs
properties for each methods).
Method settings:
o New design and re-arrangement of the icon emplacement.
