    Techni-Mtal Systmes SAS completes the full-

    range portfolio of Herrenknecht AG with multi-

    service vehicles (MSV). Intelligent logistical support

    in tunnelling is prerequisite for the high availability

    of the tunnel boring machines and thus for conti-

    nuous and efficient construction progress. Powerful

    and specifically adapted multi-service vehicles from

    Techni-Mtal transport segments, building mate-

    rials and personnel reliably, safely and just in time.

    Reliable, efficient, flexible. Multi-service vehicles

    from Techni-Mtal keep the complex work proces-

    ses of tunnelling and tunnel lining running in paral-

    lel. With pneumatic tires or solid rubber wheels,

    they do not require rails. Floor segments and paved

    tracks and roads outside the tunnel serve as the

    roadway. The key advantage of MSVs is their excel-

    lent all-terrain mobility even on steep inclines and

    declines. Thanks to an innovative independent sus-

    pension by Techni-Mtal, all the MSV's wheels have

    ground contact at all times. The steered rear wheels

    allow extremely tight turning radii.

    THE IDEAL SOLUTIONFOR EVERY TYPE OF JOB.

    Multi-service vehicles supply the TBM advance

    with segments and other building materials. Three

    model lines meet a maximum range of customerneeds:

    MSV Single:4-, 6- or 8-wheel vehicles with a sin-

    gle superstructure handle payloads from 10 to 65

    tonnes. This vehicle type, in a one-meter-wide ver-

    sion, can also be used for microtunnels.

    MSV Double:8- to 20-wheel vehicles with a double

    superstructure offer payloads of 40 to 140 tonnes.

    MSV Triple:24-wheelers with a triple superstruc-

    ture enable payloads from 120 to 200 tonnes.

    The basic models of each series designed to trans-

    port segments and grout are equipped as standard

    with an automatic fire extinguishing system, a par-

    ticulate filter and a safety system for driving on

    transverse gradients.

    Other applications include support of all work in

    the tunnel and transport of reinforcements, rails and

    operating materials such as oil, grease, or pipes. For

    these requirements the basic models can be exten-

    ded with the following options:

    Enclosed and heated/air-conditioned cabs

    Collapsible cab

    Additional equipment such as cranes, concrete mi-

    xers, grout tanks, lifting platforms, passenger cabs

    Crane or cherry picker module for supply or tunnellining work

    Operator platform for personnel transport

    In addition to this Techni-Mtal has developed a

    powerful and safe personnel carrier:

    PSV 20: The vehicles carry up to 20 people in the

    tunnel and on the construction site.

    Customized for your specific requirements. Techni-

    Mtal adapts multi-service vehicles to meet indivi-

    dual customer requirements. Options range from

    rail modules for the final lining of the tunnel through

    various drive and control systems, to special adap-

    tations for all types of equipment.

    Mobile in every situation.In tunnels MSVs use the

    floor segment as the roadway. With larger tunnel

    cross-sections there is enough space on the floor

    segment for the narrow MSVs from Techni-Mtal to

    pass each other. In smaller diameters the vehicles

    can pass via heaped ramps.

    The range of products for use in tunnels includes

    multi-service vehicles to supply the tunnel boring

    machine during excavation and vehicles for lining

    the tunnel (lighting, rails, curbs, etc.), maintenance,

    and passenger transportation. Another contribution

    for the timely completion of tunnels.

    U S E I N T U N N E L C O N S T R U C T I O N .

    1 Tunnelling.MSVs supply the tunnel boring ma-

    chine with building materials such as segments,

    grout, pipes, lubricants, tools and disc cutters. The

    site personnel can be transported in a separately

    mounted cab or in a specially developed Personnel

    Service Vehicle (PSV).

    2 Lining.Multi-service vehicles can be equipped

    with a concrete mixer, which is used for concreting

    the road, the sidewalks or intermediate levels. In

    railway tunnels they handle the transportation of

    rails and sleepers for laying the track. Equipped

    with a cherry picker they are used for the installation

    of lighting, ventilation, and cables.

    3 Maintenance.With a crane and cherry picker

    the multi-service vehicles can be used flexibly for

    all required maintenance. For the maintenance of

    railway tunnels, the MSV Rail Road is used.

    4 Passenger transportation. Multi-service vehicles

    equipped with a spacious cab transport site person-

    nel quickly and safely (also available as the Rail

    Road model).

    A P P L I C A T I O N S .

    Infrastructure: In large-diameter tunnel construc-

    tion (road, rail, subway) the multi-service vehicles

    from Techni-Mtal play to the strengths of their

    entire product range. Specially designed vehicleswith small external dimensions have proven them-

    selves in small diameter tunnels.

    Mining:Techni-Mtal adapts multi-service vehicles

    to the harsh environment in mines (high tempera-

    ture and humidity, excessive dust) for example, by

    installing efficient cooling systems. The structural

    adaptations meet international ATEX specifications.
