Task Groups
TGs are: Where the work gets done Where consensus standards are produced
and revised Made up of ~6-10 members who work in
conjunction with other experts Subjected to review and direction by an STG
What do Task Groups Produce?
TGs develop some form of document, such as a:
– Standard Practice (SP) – Test Method (TM) – Material Requirements (MR) – Technical committee report or other form of
publication
Standards must be reviewed every 5 years. Cycle starts over again with “revision” replacing “idea for standard.”
