Parking: Parking is free in most University lots after 4:30pm, though restricted spots may still be ticketed. On-street parking (Residential Parking Zone) is also available in the evening hours. Bus and Truck Parking: Bus and truck parking is not available at the theatre. Oversize vehicle parking is provided in the V7 lot, located on the corner of 18th and D Street, and in the X22 lot, located on the corner of 18th and Alder Street. Both are a distance from McConnell Hall. Special arrangements can be made to accommodate specific needs if coordinated well in advance. Management Production Office: Located on first floor Room 107E, digital phone line, hi-speed wireless internet access, copier and fax located on the same floor. Green Room: 14’ X 26’, located directly behind up stage right door. The doorway to the access hall is 14” above the stage level. A flight of stairs in the greenroom provides the only access to the dressing rooms (located on the 2nd floor). Stage Manager’s Console: Located in stage right wing. It contains a timer and clock, houselight control, ETC remote focus unit node, ETC DMX node, Clear Com MS-232 two channel intercom main station, lecture audio system control, DVD/CD/VHS player, A/V selector and Projector Control, and A/V video monitor. Rehearsal Rooms(s): 2 rooms available, 1 of which is in a separate building.

Room 119: Black box studio with mirrors, sound system, and curtains, 33’X38’, located on the same floor as stage. Hebeler Hall Room 118: Converted old gymnasium, painted, 40’ X 32’, located in an adjacent building.

Crews: Primarily paid student staff, consisting mostly of upper level Design and Production Theatre Majors. Handicapped Access: All of the dressing rooms are located on the 2nd floor. Access between the dressing rooms and the stage are via an elevator in the northwest corner of the building and through the stage doors in the scene shop. The stage door is located up stage left. There is a ramp from the scene shop on to the stage. The greenroom is not wheelchair accessible. Policies: Alcohol: Alcohol is available, and must be coordinated, through the production manager, and the Central Washington University President’s Office. Curtain: House opens ½ hour prior to curtain. Normal curtain time is 7:30 PM for evening shows, and 2 PM for matinee shows. Marijuana: Private marijuana use is legal in Washington however it is prohibited on the Central Washington University campus because of federal Department of Education rules. Smoking: All Central Washington University buildings are tobacco free in accordance with RCW 70.160 but smoking is allowed in designated areas outdoors. Smoking on stage is not permitted. Use of electronic cigarettes as a substitute is permitted.

Load-in Area Dimensions: Two loading docks available; located on east side, and west side of building. East side loading dock: Loads in to the scene shop.

Stands 3’-3” high, 9’-10” wide, and can only accommodate 1 truck at a time, maximum truck size of 24’ Loading door is 6’-10” X 5’-3”. Door opens in to scene shop, and there is a following door from scene shop and ramp to stage that is 8’-7” X 5’-10”, opening into scene shop.

West side loading dock: Loads directly on to up stage right. Stands 1’-5” high, 9’ wide and can only accommodate 1 truck at a time, there is also a ramp that can be used by smaller vehicles. Loading door is 7’-8”X 2’-10” and 7’-8” X 4’-8”, these two measurements are separated by a metal bar which can be removed. Door opens on to up stage right.

Carpentry Seating: McConnell Auditorium holds 759 persons with 6 wheel chair spaces available. Seating Chart: See Attachment G. Stage Dimensions:

Proscenium: 37’-4” wide x 18’ high. Stage is 28’ deep from plaster line. Apron below plaster line is 4’. There is a fixed orchestra pit that is 9 1/2” below the stage level. Orchestra pit cover must be removed manually. There are steps from the auditorium to the stage on both sides of the stage. There are hard tormentors on both sides of the stage; they are 5’ wide by 24’-10” high. These are on tracks and can be retracted behind the plaster line.

Wing Space: Stage right is 15’ of clear space with two column obstructions that support

the old fly gallery and current lighting storage. Stage left is 9’ of clear space to the lock rail. The access ladder to the loading gallery is 2’ from the upstage wall, in the stage left wing.

Grid Height: From the deck to top of grid surface is 46’ with an effective flying height of

40’-8” from deck.

Orchestra Pit: Fixed at 9’-1/2” below stage level and 2’-0” below auditorium level. Pit is 31’-1” wide at the edge of the apron and 9’-10” deep at center line. Pit is accessible from the auditorium level at center stage and from a doorway 5’-6” X 2’-6”in the trap room. Pit cover is 11 sections that must be removed manually. Advanced coordination is required to remove orchestra pit.

Stage Height: 4’ above house floor. Stage Floor: Soft pine floor with hard board deck painted flat black. Two 4’ x 6’ traps are available. See Attachment C for layout. Improved stage screws, lag screws, drywall screws, and nails allowed. Stage screw, threaded insert and lag screw holes larger than 3/8” in stage floor must be plugged after use. House Draperies (Soft Goods):

House Curtain: Plum Colored traveler at plaster line. Manual lift and traveler operation line are located stage left.

Battens: 23 42’ battens, 1 ½” schedule 40 pipe truss on 11’-10” centers, 4 lift lines. Fabricated truss has 2” web on 5’-11” centers. Maximum point load capacity is 500 pounds. Evenly distributed load is 1500 pounds for electrics and 1200 pounds for all other line sets. The motorized line set over the apron has an evenly

distributed load of 1000 pounds and a point load capacity of 250 pounds between lift lines.

Type: All lines over the stage are single purchase. There is a motorized arbor to transfer weights from the gallery to the deck. There is a motorized line set over the apron. Maximum capacity of apron line set is 1000 pounds.

Arbor capacity: Maximum load 1320 pounds. Available Weight: 30,000 pounds in 33, 22 and 11 pound increments. Loading Gallery: Located on stage left, 40’ above the stage floor. Support Areas: Crossover: Upstage of line 31 is 3’-8” wide.

Access: From front of house located house left through a set of double doors and up three steps. Greenroom is located through a door up stage right. Dressing rooms are located through the greenroom up one flight of steps.

Shop Area: Located stage left through a set of double doors up stage 5’-10” wide and 8’-7” tall. All major woodworking tools with modern dust collection available, limited welding is also available.

Storage: Limited storage available stage right behind the stage manager’s console. Additional storage is available in the scene shop.
