The Easergy Configurator allows the user to customize the supervision applications generated. Customizing is performed with the Easergy Supervisor editor. To be capable of customizing a generated supervision application, the user must have a "Full version" type L500 protection key.

1 Colour management Animations in the generated supervision applications are based on predefined indexed colours. First column, from top to bottom:

1. Colour for the background of views. 2. Colour for the background of the Easergy Supervisor work area. 3. Colour for the background of the control buttons. 4. Dark colour for the relief style. 5. Light colour for the relief style. 6. Not used. 7. Not used. 8. Not used.

Second column, from top to bottom:

1. Not used. 2. Not used. 3. Not used. 4. Not used. 5. Not used. 6. Not used. 7. Not used. 8. Not used.

Third column, from top to bottom:

1. Not used. 2. Not used. 3. Alarm off not acknowledged (text). 4. White. 5. Alarm active not acknowledged (text). 6. Yellow. 7. Green: OFF states. 8. Text of control buttons if the function is deactivated.

Fourth column, from top to bottom:

1. Transparent. 2. Alarm active acknowledged or ON states. 3. Text or border. 4. Invalid value (e.g. in the event of loss of communication). 5. OFF states. 6. Not used. 7. Alarm active not acknowledged. 8. Alarm off not acknowledged.

These colours can be redefined via the Easergy Supervisor colour palette. Example : The default colour palette is based on grey shades. To have an application based on blue shades for backgrounds, and buttons based on green shades, the following changes must be carried out:

• Change colour #1 of the first column to blue. • Change colour #4 of the first column to dark blue. • Change colour #5 of the first column to light blue. • Change colour #3 of the first column to green.

Likewise, the colour of alarm type animations can be redefined.

2 Screen background images The screen backgrounds for the network view and welcome view can be replaced:

1. Add the image to be inserted in the following directory: C:\Program Files\Schneider\Easergy x.x\Usr\Project_Name\B (file formats supported: gif, bmp, jpg).

2. Start the Easergy Supervisor application (name + password). 3. Press the <F6> key to display the menu. 4. Go to Mode-Design in the menu to go into Edit mode. 5. Right-click on the screen background image. 6. Next click on Unlock and then delete it. 7. Go to Insert-Image in the menu. 8. Choose the image to be inserted in the displayed window, then click on

Insert . 9. The image appears on screen. 10. Right-click on the image, then choose Properties . 11. Change the image Position and Size details if necessary, then press OK. 12. Return to Run mode by going to Mode-Run . 13. Press the <F8> key to remove the menu.

3 Multi-screen display The L500 can manage the display of mimic diagrams on several screens simultaneously. Each screen can be assigned a view separately depending on the respective clicks on the buttons calling up the mimic diagrams for each view. Each view will be managed autonomously relative to the others. To implement this function, you must have a graphic card including two screen outputs and managing the extended desktop mode. 1. Using the Notepad, open the GLOBAL.SCADA file located in the "C:\Program

Files\Schneider\Easergy x.x\Usr\Application\P" directory of the current application.

2. Change the figure at the end of the "Const cstRegionCount = x;" line to make the number of regions correspond to the number of screens to be managed (x).

3. Save the GLOBAL.SCADA file. 4. With the Supervisor started, press the F6 key on the keyboard to display the

Supervisor menu. 5. Go to Display , then Workspace properties . 6. Click on the Regions tab, then choose the number of regions according to the

number of screens to be managed, with the System with 1 region, System with 2 regions… option.

7. Where applicable, choose the region to be displayed at start-up of the L500 by clicking on the appropriate screen.

8. Click on the Main window tab and configure the display size with a Width equal to x times the current value (e.g. 1024 -> 2048 for x=2 if two screens), without changing the Height , then click on OK.

9. Press the F8 key on the keyboard to remove the Supervisor menu. 10. Stop Easergy Supervisor. 11. Start the L500 application. 12. The multi-screen mode is now accepted. 13. On each screen, choose the views to be displayed by clicking on the

Supervisor's mimic diagram call buttons.

4 Drawing in views Easergy Supervisor can be customized in order to make the display of the network view or the detailed view of a substation more user-friendly. Drawing tools make it possible to include various shapes and objects on the screens and to produce graphics depending on the user's creativity. To customize the view, perform the following operations:

4.1 Starting the application 1. Start Easergy Supervisor. 2. Choose the application that you want to customize from the list of applications

available (e.g. Project ). 3. The Supervisor main screen appears; press "F2" and then enter the session

name and password. 4. Go into Network view or the Detailed view of a substation depending on what

you want to customize.

4.2 Display of the drawing toolbar 1. Press the <F6> key to display the menu. 2. Go to Mode-Design in the menu to go into Edit mode. 3. Right-click on the menu bar at the top of the page. 4. Click on the Draw option to display the drawing toolbar.

Note: You can move the drawing toolbar over the current page and resize it for easier reading.

4.3 Drawing objects 1. Choose one of the objects or shapes available in the drawing bar by clicking

on the corresponding icon to select it. 2. Then draw the object in question directly on the current view using the mouse

to customize it according to your tastes. 3. If necessary, you can also insert text in the objects or on the page in the same

way.

4.4 Changing the appearance 1. To change the appearance of the drawn object, click on it with the right mouse

button. 2. Click on the Properties option. 3. A Properties dialogue box then appears, with which you can change the

appearance, size, colour, etc. of the objects. 4. Repeat the same operation for all the objects to be drawn on the view.

4.5 Arrangement in the foreground When two objects overlap one another, it is sometimes necessary to define which of the two should be displayed in the foreground relative to the other one. 1. Right-click on the object. 2. Click on Arrange-Move forward . 3. The second object is thus hidden by the first one in the foreground.

4.6 Grouping objects Once all the objects have been drawn, it may be useful to group the objects together to form a single drawing. This makes it easier to move the objects over the page. 1. Select all the objects to be grouped. 2. Right-click on them. 3. Click on the Group option. 4. The grouped objects then form merely a single drawing object. 5. Go to Mode-Run in the menu to enter Run mode. 6. The current view then appears customized with the drawn objects. 7. Press the <F8> key to remove the menu.

5 Trend curves In some cases it may be useful to add a trend curve to the detail view of a substation in order to obtain a better view of changes in network currents or fluctuations in voltage measurements on a substation.

5.1 Starting the application 1. Start Easergy Supervisor. 2. Choose the application that you want to customize from the list of applications

available (e.g. Project ). 3. The Supervisor main screen appears; press "F2" and then enter the session

name and password. 4. Go into the Detailed view of the substation on which you want to insert the

graph.

5.2 Displaying the menu 1. Press the <F6> key to display the menu. 2. Go to Mode-Design in the menu to go into Edit mode. 3. Right-click on the menu bar at the top of the page. 4. Click on the Draw option to display the drawing toolbar.

Note: You can move the drawing toolbar over the current page and resize it for easier reading.

5.3 Inserting the trend curve 1. Click on the Trend viewer icon of the drawing toolbar. 2. A Trend viewer window appears on screen. 3. Click on the Variable Selector drop-down list of the Variable field on the first

line. 4. A Select variables window appears on screen. 5. Select the "internal name" of the device on which to apply the curve. 6. Select the "internal name" of the switch on which to apply the curve. 7. Select the "internal name" of the data item on which to apply the curve. 8. Click on OK; the Trend viewer window is refreshed on the screen with the

Variable field updated.

Note 1: To know the "internal name" of each element, refer to the "Configuration L500 fr" table accessible via the Supervisor Help button. Note 2: It is useful to establish a trend curve especially to view current and voltage measurements, but not necessarily for the other parameters which merely represent binary states. Note 3: The PhaseI element corresponds to current measurement and U corresponds to voltage measurement.

5.4 Curve parameters setup 1. You can, if necessary, change in the Curves tab of the Trend viewer window

the following parameters relating to the curve to be created: • Description: Short description of the variable. • Line: Colour and thickness of the curve. • Style: Curve drawing style. • Mark: Display of markers or not. • Type: Type of curve. • Min and Max: Minimum and maximum values to be displayed (scale

of the curve). 2. Click on OK to confirm the curve parameters. 3. Drag the curve over the screen to the place where you want to position it. 4. Go to Mode-Run in the menu to enter Run mode. 5. The trend curve then appears on the current view. 6. Press the <F8> key to remove the menu. 7. It is possible, if necessary, to change certain curve parameters without being

obliged to return to Run mode, by clicking on the icon in the bottom right-hand of the trend curve:

• Visibility • Graduation • Colors • Min and Max Value

8. Other parameters can also be accessed via icons to the left of the trend curve,

namely: • Play • Break • Inplode • Explode • Restore • Historic • Print

9. It is always possible to change the trend curve parameters later by returning into Design mode, right-clicking on the curve and selecting the Properties option.

5.5 Another method It is also possible to create a new mimic diagram page in which the trend curve is incorporated rather than inserting it in the detail view of the substation. In this case, a call button for this page should be created in the detail view of the substation. 1. Display the menu and the drawing toolbar (see chapter on Displaying the

menu). 2. In the menu, select File-New-Mimic . 3. In the Template field of the New mimic window which appears, type Base.tpl . 4. In the new mimic diagram which then appears, insert the trend curve (see

chapters on Inserting the trend curve and Curve parameters setup). 5. Return to the detail view of the substation. 6. Save the mimic diagram of the curve, giving it a name when requested (e.g.

Trend ). 7. In the detail view of the substation, create a button to call up the mimic diagram

incorporating the trend curve (see chapter on Inserting the call button). Note: In this case, the button text is not Note but Trend .

8. Right-click on the created button, then select Animate-Link-Open . 9. A Symbol properties window appears. 10. Insert the name of the created mimic diagram incorporating the curve, in the

Mimic field of the Link open tab. 11. Click on OK to confirm the object properties. 12. Go to Mode-Run in the menu to enter Run mode. 13. Press the <F8> key to remove the menu. 14. The curve mimic diagram call button is operational. 15. At each click on the button created to call up the curve, the mimic diagram of

the trend curve appears on screen. Note: It may be interesting to create, in the same way, another Close button in the mimic diagram of the curve to close the diagram and return to the previous call view. In that case choose the Animate-Link-Close option.

6 Commentary and Notes It is possible to add commentary in the form of texts or notes on a detailed view of a substation. These notes can be accessed by inserting in the current view a call button which can be used to call up and display on screen notes written earlier. These notes can be supplemented or modified by clicking on the button in the view.

6.1 Starting the application 1. Start Easergy Supervisor. 2. Choose the application that you want to customize from the list of applications

available (e.g. Project ). 3. The Supervisor main screen appears; press "F2" and then enter the session

name and password. 4. Go into the Detailed view of the substation (or into the Network view) on

which you want to insert the commentary.

6.2 Displaying the menu 1. Press the <F6> key to display the menu. 2. Go to Mode-Design in the menu to go into Edit mode. 3. Right-click on the menu bar at the top of the page. 4. Click on the Draw option to display the drawing toolbar.

Note: You can move the drawing toolbar over the current page and resize it for easier reading.

6.3 Inserting the call button 5. Click on the Text icon in the Draw toolbar. 6. Click on the location of the view or insert the call button and then type the

wanted text corresponding to the name of the button (e.g. Notes ). 7. Click with the right mouse button on the text, then select the Properties

option. 8. A Symbol properties window appears. 9. You may change the colour of the text and the background colour of the

button. 10. Click on the Aspect tab and select the Button option in the Appearance drop-

down list. 11. Click on OK to accept the button parameters.

6.4 Creating button chaining 2. Right-click on the button, then select Animation-Chaining-Note . 3. A Symbol properties window appears. 4. Go into the Name field of the Note tab and indicate a name for the text file to

be created for saving the commentary. Note 1: If possible give the .txt extension to the file created (e.g. Notes.txt ). Note 2: The files for notes and commentary are automatically saved in the TP directory of the current project. Note 3: When a note file is created on several applications, the software automatically proposes the directory in which the last file created was saved, and hence not necessarily in the current application. Accordingly, make sure to change the location of the saving directory when defining the name of the note file.

5. Click on OK to close the window. 6. Go to Mode-Run in the menu to return to Run mode. 7. Press the <F8> key to remove the menu. 8. The button is created and ready to operate.

6.5 Creating commentary 1. Click on the Notes button. 2. A blank commentary window appears on screen. 3. Insert text in the window, then click on Save to save it. 4. Click on Close to close the window. 5. From now on, whenever the Notes button is pressed, the commentary

appears on screen and can be modified if necessary.

7 Installing and parameterizing SQL Server Express

7.1 Introduction The L500 Supervisor proposes two different modes for saving data.

• Native - Saving and rereading data in the proprietary database in real time in accordance with backup mechanisms specific to the Supervisor. The native mode is available in all versions of the Supervisor.

• HDS - Saving and rereading in a standard database such as Microsoft Access or SQL Server. The HDS (Historical Data Server) system is available from the L500 V4.20_V8.2 version of the L500 Supervisor.

By default, data are saved in the proprietary database. The saved data can be retrieved from this database using an external product compatible with the selected database.

This software version has been certified for use with the following databases:

• Access 2000 (using Jet 4.0)

• SQL Server 2000 and 2005

• SQL Express 2005

A free version of Microsoft SQL Server Express is i ncluded on the Supervisor L500 installation CD.

Although the technologies used in the two systems are different, the functionalities available are similar and both systems are configure using the Archive Configuration Explorer.

Data are saved in the database in two types of configurable tables:

• Trend tables: Used for routine saving of state and measurement type variables. You can configure one or more trend tables in each database. The saved data can be replayed via a trend window. When a variable is selected for saving in trends, it is possible to select the database, the database table and the period of time at which the variable will be saved.

• Log tables : Used for saving state transitions state and alarm type variables and operator actions. You can configure one or more log tables in each database. The configuration of the log tables allows you to select the variable properties to be saved. The variables are selected by the configuration of the log lists. The saved data can be replayed via a log window.

A project generated by the L500 Configurator is designed to include these two archiving tables by default. These will be managed and included automatically in the directory of the default database of the L500 Supervisor (Databases). => For more information concerning the functioning of databases, refer to the contents of the online help facility of the L500 Supervisor – accessible via the [F1] key (section on: "Configuration / Recording data").

7.2 Installing SQL Server Express Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition is a version of SQL Server 2005 that is free, not very bulky, and easy to use. It is available in the form of a self-extracting execution file on the L500 Supervisor CD. The SQL Server Express data storage limit is 3.5 GB. An automatic system for monitoring the database filling rate is available. As soon as the database reaches a capacity of 2.8 GB (80% of the maximum size), 10% of the data (the oldest data) are erased, so as to limit the size of the database.

Follow the instructions given below to install SQL Express 2005: - When the selection of optional components is proposed during the installation procedure, activate all the options except installation of the "Software Development kit" component: - Then check the "Named instance SQLExpress" option:

- Then check the "Mixed Mode (Windows Authentication and SQL Server Authentication)" option and then enter a password. NB: This password must be used in the same way for creating the project in the L500 Configurator. - Then check the "Add user to the SQL Server Administrator role" option: - Do not check the two options proposed in the following window concerning sending of an error report and sending data on use of the SQL Server 2005 functionalities to Microsoft. - Then click on "Install" to start installation. - Wait until installation is completed, then click on “Terminate”. => For more information concerning the installation of SQL Server Express, refer to the contents of the online help facility of the L500 Supervisor – accessible via the [F1] key (section on: "Software installation / SQL Server Express").

7.3 Parameterizing access rights to the SQL Server data directory

These instructions are applicable only if you use Windows XP and the NTFS file system. There is no need to perform these operations if you use VISTA, or XP with another file system (e.g. FAT).

For SQL Server Express to create and write to the Supervisor's default database directory "Databases", the file access permissions must be modified so that the SQL Server 2005 user may have an access right with full control:

1. Use Windows Explorer to access the databases directory of the L500 (by default: "C:\Program Files\Schneider\Easergy x.x\Databases").

2. Right-click on the "Databases" directory, then select "Properties".

3. Select the "Security" tab.

4. Click on "Add" to add a new user.

5. Click on "Advanced".

6. Click on "Locations", then select the name of your computer, then click on "Ok".

7. Click on "Find Now".

8 Parameters setup for the Multistation option

8.1 Introduction The multistation option of the L500 Supervisor can be used to create a Client/Server architecture between several different computers connected to a single LAN.

The multistation option allows several operators to control the same L500 Supervisor application from several different computers.

The Server station must include a "Server" protection key to work properly (ref : "Wnet" written on the key). The Client station must include a Client protection key (ref : "Client" written on the key).

The L500 software must be installed in all the computers Server and client and the multistation option must be configured on every computer.

The real-time data of the L500 Supervisor will be saved to historical data servers. Each computer may be allocated one of these servers and data storage on that server. Remote computers may access local server data.

On the whole, a user can use the Supervisor in the same way on all the computers (client or server), because the data will be exchanged and used on a shared basis.

The terms Client and Server can be used with several meanings. It is essential to understand the meaning of each configuration element.

8.1.1 Client and server stations

The ability of a station to be client and server is determined by the project configuration.

• A Supervisor configured as an acquisition (or real-time) server station can send changes of values of one or more database variables to other stations (client). An acquisition server station produces the value of the variables. The value of a variable can be produced only on a single acquisition server station at a time.

• A Supervisor configured as a client station can obtain the value of one or more database variables from other stations (acquisition server). A client station consumes the value of the variables. The value of a variable can be consumed by several client stations.

• A Supervisor configured as an historical server station can perform data historization.

By default, a station is configured both as client station and acquisition server station. It is normal to leave it configured in this way, even if it has merely to produce variable values or consume the value of variables (depending on the configuration and use of the client and server lists).

A station can perform all three operations.

8.1.2 Client and server lists

The client and acquisition (or real-time) server lists are created in the project configuration and are used to monitor the behaviour of certain aspects of the supervision project depending on the station on which it is started.

• An acquisition server list contains the name of one or more acquisition server stations or combinations.

• A client list contains the name of one or more client stations.

The most frequent use of the client and acquisition server lists is to check on which station the value of a variable is produced and on which station(s) it is consumed.

The historical server lists are used to indicate which stations will perform data historization. Only those stations configured as historical server can be added to it. Note that if the historical server station is not in the client list, it will not be able to reread the archived data.

8.1.3 Identification of client and server stations

Each client and server station must have a unique identification on the data interchange network. This identification can be either the computer's name or its IP address.

For projects using the IEC61870-5-101/104 communication protocol, an additional parameter has to be set. Each configured station must also know what station name has been assigned to it in the multistation configuration.

8.2 How to configure a multistation application

8.2.1 Activation of the option

When creating the project in the L500 Configurator, to activate multistation operation, simply check the "Use networking" option in the "Project Properties" window ("Options" tab).

Note: It is recommended not to change the list names proposed by default.

The multistation architecture should then be configured at project generation.

8.2.2 Configuration of the multistation architecture

During the project generation phases, you are prompted to configure the multistation option:

- Click on the "Configure" button, and a "Networking configuration" window appears.

- Click on the "Networking wizard" option in the task bar. The wizard will guide you through 4 steps in the process of configuration of your multistation architecture.

- Once the wizard is open, click on the "Next" button to go to the first step:

• Step 1: Configuration of stations (Clients and Servers)

The "Clients/Servers creation" page displays the list of stations created by the wizard and provides control buttons to add, modify and remove stations.

The wizard will automatically generate all the client/server station links, as well as the servers, clients and historical lists.

The server lists will correspond to the name of the station prefixed with LS. For example, the SERVER server station will be linked with the LSSERVER list.

The historical server lists will correspond to the name of the station prefixed with LSH. For example, the HISTO historical server station will be linked with the LSHHISTO list.

- Click on the "Add" button to add a station, and the "Station properties" dialogue box is displayed (the following procedure will have to repeated as often as necessary to create all the client and server stations that are to be included in the project): The name of the station is automatically generated by default with an associated number defined according to the order of creation (STATION1, STATION2, etc.). * As a general rule, it is recommended to give the st ation name "SERVER" to the station that will be used as server. For the cl ient stations to be created, do not change the name proposed by default ("STATION1" , "STATION2", etc). Note that the station names entered here are merely titles given to the stations to be created and do not correspond to those entered at project configuration.

- Then select "Real time Client" or "Real time Server" operation for each station to be created, according to its use. This parameters setup affects only the project configuration, but not the computer on which this configuration is performed. This phase of server and client computer configuration must be performed later (see chapter on "Configuration of station identity").

- If the station is used as an historical data server, check the corresponding box.

- Select and enter the TCP/IP properties. You can choose to identify a station by its computer name or its IP address.

- Click on the "OK" button to confirmer the configuration.

- Then click on "Next" to go to step 2.

• Step 2: Configuration of Real-Time Server Combinations

This function is not currently proposed as a standard feature.

• Step 3: Configuration of Historical Server Combinations

This function is not currently proposed as a standard feature.

• Step 4: Configuration of Station Lists

The work station lists page automatically generates the client and server lists associated with the client and server stations created using the wizard.

You can choose to create a list for all the stations or only for client stations.

- All stations: A client list for each station and combination configured. A single list containing the names of all the stations (the default name of the list is LGCLIENTS). - Only client stations: A client list for each station and combination configured. A single list containing the name of all the client stations (the default name of the list is LGCLIENTS).

Once the choice of lists has been made, click on the "Finish" button to close the multistation wizard and return to the Configuration Explorer.

Comment: You can change this configuration at any time from the specific Supervisor menu, once the project has been generated and started.

8.2.3 Copying the project on all stations Once the Multistation option has been configured and the project generated, the project should now be recorded on all the client and server stations that will be used for the Multistation option. To do this, copy the generated project, located in the "C:\Program Files\Schneider\EASERGY x.x\Usr" directory of the PC which was used to create the project and paste it into the same directory on all the client and server PCs. Note: The L500 software must of course be installed on all the client and server PCs before this operation can be performed.

8.2.4 Configuration of station identity

Once the project has been copied onto all the client and server stations, the following operations should be performed manually on each station on which the project has been installed to identify the server and client stations by their name and their identification number.

• Configuration of station number:

The station number is defined by a parameter of the "INI.DAT" file which is located in the ETC directory of the Easergy Supervisor. This is a text file which can be edited by a text editor such as Windows "Notepad".

This operation can be performed only when the Supervisor is stopped.

- Open the "C:\Program Files\Schneider\EASERGY x.x\Etc\INI.dat" file.

- On the first line, after the key word "PINI,.." place the figure corresponding to the number of the station to be configured, as defined when configuring the multistation option during the project generation phases.

Example: PINI,1,,1,1,256000,1,0,0x0,21,0,0,0 (corresponds to the first station configured in this example).

NB: Do not change any other parameter in this file, or else you could cause an operating error.

Note: To know the figure corresponding to the number of the PC station to be configured, open the file: "C:\Program Files\Schneider\EASERGY x.x\Usr\Project_Name\C\Station.dat".

- On each line of the same type below, the station number corresponds to the fifth field (note that the name of the station corresponds to the second field):

"STATIONNG,SERVER,,0,1,100,1,0,0" "STATIONNG,STATION1,,0,2,100,0,0,0"

• Configuration of the station name (for the IEC 101/104 protocol only):

Each configured station must know what station name has been assigned to it by configuration. The station name is defined by a parameter of the "SVKER.ini" file which is located in the SVKER directory of the project. This is a text file which can be edited by a text editor such as Windows "Notepad".

The parameter to be edited is "LocalStationName" in the [NetworkStations] section.

- Open the "Svker.ini" file located in the directory "C:\Program Files\Schneider\Easergy x.x\Usr\Project_Name\SVKER\SvKer.ini".

- Indicate the name of the station, depending on whether it is server or client, as follows (in the [NetworkStations]) section:

"LocalStationName=SERVER" for a server station "LocalStationName=STATION1" for the first client station "LocalStationName=STATION2" for the second client station etc.

Comment: Leave no space between the = sign and the station name. Configuration of the multistation option is completed.

9 Parameters setup for the WebView option

9.1 Introduction The WebView option is used on the L500 to allow remote access to the Supervisor from an external access point connected via Internet or a local area network (LAN). This option is interesting when you want to be able to log on remotely to interact or supervise the Supervisor's operation (e.g. person in a standby duty situation). WebView consists of two components:

• A thin client (called WebView Client) which is run under a Java virtual machine in a Web browser. Note: The Java Plug-in must therefore be installed on the remote PC to be able to use remote access via WebView.

• A server (called WebView Server) which is a component of the Supervisor. The WebView Client and the WebVue Server communicate using HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) via Intranet, Internet or a "Remote Access Server" connection. The Supervisor relies on Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) to exchange messages with remote and local Web clients. The IIS service is supplied with Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista and Windows 2003 Server.

Special prerequisites for the WebView option The WebView option of the L500 Supervisor uses a number of components supplied by Microsoft that must be installed before configuration and use. The components should be installed in the following order:

WebView licence All the components required for operation of WebView are included in the standard Supervisor supply. However, WebView is an option that must be integrated into the L500 Supervisor's USB protection key. If this option is not included in the key, WebView access will not function. The maximum number of simultaneous client connections to a WebView server is also coded in the USB protection key. There are several types of connection:

• A single user • Two simultaneous users • Five simultaneous users

9.2 Installation of the IIS component under Windows XP

Installation will stop automatically if the IIS component has not been already installed before installation of the L500 Supervisor. A warning message will prompt you to exit the installation and install IIS manually. Under Windows XP, the IIS component must be installed and configured manually before ".NET Framework" is installed by the standard installation of L500. Proceed as follows for the installation of IIS:

1. Exit installation of the L500 once the warning message appears.

2. Open the Windows Control Panel and select "Add/Remove Programs".

3. In the left-hand panel, select "Add/Remove Windows components" to display the "Windows Components Wizard" dialogue box.

4. Select the Internet Services (IIS) component, then click on the "Details" button. In the Internet Services (IIS) dialogue box, make sure that the following options are checked:

o Internet Information Services Snap-In o FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions o Common files o World Wide Web Service

5. Click on "OK" to close the dialogue box and return to the "Windows Components Wizard".

6. Select "Next" to install the IIS components. During the installation process, you will be prompted to insert the Windows distribution CD.

9.3 Configuration of the WebView option in the Supervisor

This chapter explains how to configure the Supervisor to authorize access to the WebView server:

- Open the L500 Supervisor project on which the WebView option is to be added.

- Open the "Configuration / Communication / WebView Server" menu.

- In the "WebView Server Properties" tab, "IIS virtual directories" part, check the "Setup now" option.

- Then click on the "Continue" button, then on "Terminate".

Note: When this is done, the other properties of the dialogue box then become accessible: - Where necessary, change the parameters of the "Client properties" part:

• Presentation language: specifies the language of display of the WebView menu and tools.

• Project language: specifies the language of display of the WebView mimic diagrams.

• Look & feel: selects the appearance of the WebView client system menu, the pop-up menus and the HTML work area.

• Default initial window and Default initial branch: Selects the window, and the branch, displayed in the WebView client at first connection to the Supervisor only if the window and the branch are not defined in the user configuration.

- Where necessary, change the parameters of the "Communication properties" part:

• Client polling delay: frequency with which the real-time data of the WebView client are refreshed.

• Read after click period: after a command click in a mimic diagram, the WebView client makes a reading request to refresh the page. This parameter can be used to adjust the time between the click and reading.

- In the "Toolkit Server" tab, check the "Setup now" option:

- Click on the "Ok" button.

- The WebView option is now correctly configured.

- The project should be restarted to take into account the configuration.

9.4 Access to the Supervisor's WebView server

9.4.1 Local access - Open the L500 project on which the WebView option has been configured earlier.

- From Internet Explorer or equivalent, check the local access to the WebView server of the project from the PC on which the L500 is installed, by entering the URL address in accordance with the following syntax: "Http://localhost/<Project_Name>".

• <Project_Name> - The name of the project including the WebView option that the Supervisor executes.

Example: "http://localhost/TEST" for a project called "Test".

- Once the Web browser has found access to the indicated URL, a "Loading Java Applet" message is displayed on screen. The Web browser then loads the Java WebView application.

Note: The first time you open WebView, it may take several minutes depending on the type of connection (intranet, internet or RAS). Subsequently, this will take place far more rapidly, because the Java application is saved locally in the Web browser's cache memory.

- When the Java application is loaded, a WebView start-up screen is displayed, followed by a dialogue box prompting for connection (login and password).

- Enter the default login password (defined in the L500 default profiles for WebView access):

• Full access: login = "wvcontrol" and password "pwvcontrol".

• Restricted access: login = "wvmonitor" and password "pwvmonitor".

9.4.2 Remote access

- From Internet Explorer or equivalent, check remote access to the WebView server of the project from another PC connected to Internet, by entering the URL address in accordance with the following syntax: "Http://</id_PC>/<Project_Name>".

• <Id_PC>: The name or IP address of the PC on which the Supervisor runs the WebView server. For example: "Station1" or "90.0.0.50".

• <Project_Name>: The name of the project including the WebView option that the Supervisor executes.

Example: "http://90.0.0.50/TEST" for a project called "Test" on a PC having the IP address: "90.0.0.50".

9.4.3 Access to the Supervisor via WebView

Once connected remotely to the L500's WebView server, the Internet Explorer page displays the L500 Supervisor menus in the same way as for local access.

However, some functions will not be accessible via a WebView access:

- The Supervisor menus (F6 key inoperative).

- Access to the Supervisor Help view.

- Access to the call configuration view, for devices on non-permanent links.

- Access to the parameter configuration view (G200 and F200C).

- Stoppage/Restarting of the server communication layer (system view).

- The device filters in the detail view, alarm and archive call buttons.

Comment: Access to the alarm and archive pages is possible either:

• Directly from the panel buttons (without filtering).

• From the device status preview window call buttons, accessible from the network view: (see picture opposite).

The left-hand button gives access to the filtered alarm view for this device. The right-hand button gives access to the filtered archives view for this device.

9.4.4 WebView server access problem If access to the WebView server start page is not established (e.g. window indicating "Server access error" or no connection), perform the following operations to solve any problems:

• Possibility 1: "Internet Service (IIS)" configurati on problem:

- Access the "IIS" service by typing "Inetmgr" in the Windows "Run" module.

- Click with the right mouse button on the name of the project (e.g. "TEST" project in the following screen) located in the directory: "Websites / Default Web site", then select "Properties" in the drop-down list.

- Then click on the "ASP.NET" tab.

- Check that version "1.1.4322" is selected in the "ASP.NET version" drop-down list. If this is not the case, select that version, then confirm by clicking "Ok".

• Possibility 2: Java version problem:

If, when connecting to the WebView server in local or remote mode, a cross is displayed in the Internet Explorer page indicating that the Java applet is not starting, this may be due to a compatibility problem related to the Java software:

- Go to the Java site (http://java.com ) and download the latest update.

• Possibility 3: Firewall problem:

If, when connecting to the WebView server in local or remote mode, a cross is displayed in the Internet Explorer page indicating that the Java applet is not starting, this may be due to a firewall problem at the router level, which blocks the access port to the L500's WebView server.

Check that port 80 is open for input AND output on the router to which the L500 PC is connected, so that all the Windows service applications may access this port.

9.4.5 Problem relating to L500 software deinstallation/installation

At deinstallation/reinstallation of the L500 (e.g. in order to install a new software version), certain operations must be performed before starting deinstallation.

This comment applies to an L500 which has been installed with the WebView option and projects using that option.

Comment : If the operations described below are not performed before deinstalling the software, the WebView option will not operate correctly after reinstallation of the L500 Supervisor.

- At deinstallation, a message indicates that the virtual directories linked to the Easergy Web Services must be deinstalled.

- Click on "Cancel" to stop installation, because the operation must not be continued.

- Open the Windows "Run" window and enter "Inetmgr", then click on "Ok".

- The "Internet Services (IIS)" window opens on the screen; click on the "Default Web Site" directory in the left-hand window.

- Delete one by one all the services having as access path displayed in the right-hand window: "…\Schneider\Easergy x.x\...". To do this simply right-click on the name of the service, then select "Delete".

- Once all the corresponding directories have been deleted, close "Internet Services (IIS)", then restart installation of the L500 Supervisor.

Comment: Deletion of the virtual directories of the IIS services implies complete reconfiguration of the WebView option in the Supervisor for all projects using this option, once the software has been reinstalled.

10 Horn/indicator lamp option implementation

10.1 Introduction The L500 supervision system can include on option the management of a horn and/or indicator lamp to indicate the presence of an alarm, in order to draw the operator's attention when an important event occurs on the L500 Supervisor. By "alarm" is meant any new unprovoked event occurring on the L500 supervision system coming from remote terminal units, which has not been acknowledged by the operator. An alarm remains active on the L500 system until the operator acknowledges its presence. It disappears once it has been acknowledged. Management of a horn or indicator lamp is based on the operation of the L500 alarms. Control of the horn/indicator lamp is activated when an alarm occurs. This control is deactivated when all the alarms have been acknowledged. To implement the horn/indicator lamp management function, a Télémécanique OTB 1S0DM9LP type interface module is used. The digital relay outputs of this module are used to control activation of the horn and/or indicator lamp. The OTB 1S0DM9LP module also requires a Télémécanique PHASEO ABL7 RM2401 type power supply module to provide 24 VDC to the OTB 1S0DM9LP module from the mains power supply. This module will be accessible via an RS485 link from one of the RS232 ports available on the PC on which the L500 is installed. An RS232/RS485 interface is necessary between the two devices to change the type of communication medium. The L500 manages autonomously the dialogue with the Télémécanique OTB 1S0DM9LP module. Installation of the option is very simple. No hardware configuration is needed. Everything is already configured in factory. Simply install the equipment (on DIN rail) in an appropriate place, for example in a cabinet or a cubicle, connect it to the power (mains supply), then connect the link between it and the PC-L500. You should then wire the indicator lamp and/or horn to one of the outputs provided for the purpose on the Télémécanique OTB 1S0DM9LP module for the function to be implemented. The last stage is to define on the L500 the COM port of the PC used for the link to the OTB 1S0DM9LP module (if this has not already been done when creating the L500 project).

10.2 Supply of equipment The horn/indicator lamp management option consists of: A mounting DIN rail comprising:

A Télémécanique PHASEO ABL7 RM2401 230VAC / 24VDC power supply module.

A Télémécanique OTB 1S0DM9LP network interface module with incorporated inputs/outputs including a User's Manual, the configuration software and an RS485 end-of-line adapter.

A CB00124 power supply cord for connection between the Télémécanique modules.

Two retaining stops. One Blackbox IC1521A-F type RS232/RS485 converter (25-pin/RJ45). One 9-pin/25-pin connection cord between the RS232/485 interface and the PC. A horn option User's Manual NT00129.

10.4 Installation and connections For safety reasons, all the operations described below should be performed with the power off : Install the assembled DIN rail incorporating the equipment in a cabinet or a cubicle, if possible on a smooth surface, or else install the equipment on an existing DIN rail already mounted. 10.5 Configuration of the COM port on the L500

The COM port of the PC used for dialogue with the OTB module must be declared in the L500 supervision system. This operation is normally performed when creating the project in the "L500 Configurator". However, it is possible (if this has not already been done) to add the horn option or change the COM port number of the PC-L500 which will be used for dialogue with the OTB module. In that case, proceed as follows: Start up the "L500 Configurator". Open the project to be changed. Open the "Project properties" window by doing a right-click on the project name, then select "Properties". Click on the "Options" tab. Check that the "Horn on alarm" option is checked. Select or change the number of the COM port to be used for the OTB link, then click on "OK". Perform partial project generation. Refer to the L500 User's Manual for further information concerning project generation and operation of the "L500 Configurator" software. Comment: All the other parameters have already been acknowledged for satisfactory operation of the Horn option. 10.6.1 Hardware configuration NB: The OTB interface module is normally configured in factory to operate satisfactorily. There is therefore in theory no nee d to configure it during the installation and setup operations. We shall simply summarize in this section the hardware configuration that has been adopted for operation with the L500.

We shall simply summarize in this section the software configuration that has been adopted for operation with the L500. The OTB module has no generic configuration. The only way to configure it is to write the configuration parameters via a "master" device or with the specific "Advantys" configuration software supplied with the equipment (on manufacturer's CD). From the "Advantys" software, configuration involves simply programming the registers of the OTB module to activate operation of outputs Q0 to Q7 (registers 1300). For further information concerning the software and the programming method, refer to the "OTB_Modbus_fr.pdf" User's Manual (Chapter 7 – Software tools) included on the CD supplied with the equipment.

Configuration of registers for control of outputs Q0 to Q7

The configuration parameters are saved in factory in the OTB module. They are stored permanently, even after the equipment's power supply has been switched off for a prolonged period. For any new equipment configuration to be executed by the "Advantys" software, e.g. following a loss of configuration or an operating problem, contact the equipment supplier.

10.6.3 Operation Once the option has been installed and is operational, and the L500 is operational and configured for use of the option, the system is ready to operate. On the OTB module, check that the "COM" indicator lamp lights (yellow) every second. Management of the horn and/or indicator lamps is as follows: Any appearance of information on the L500 generating a "present not acknowledged" or "absent not acknowledged" type alarm triggers actuation of the horn and/or indicator lamp. In the event of an unacknowledged alarm, the horn (on output Q7) and indicator lamp (on output Q5) control remains activated permanently, whereas the indicator lamp control (on output Q6) is activated for a flashing action (1 second active/1 second inactive). The horn/indicator lamp control remains activated until the alarm is acknowledged, whether it be of the "present not acknowledged" or "absent not acknowledged" type. When the indicator lamp or horn outputs are activated, it is possible to acknowledge the audible or visual alarm on the L500 via the "F12" key on the PC keyboard, to inform the system that the alarm has been acknowledged by the operator. This causes deactivation of the horn/indicator lamp control. The horn/indicator lamp control is deactivated automatically as soon as all the alarms disappear, i.e. when they have all been acknowledged by the operator, even if no audible/visual acknowledgement has been performed by the operator ("F12"). When an alarm has been acknowledged via the "F12" key, any new alarm again triggers the horn/indicator lamp outputs and therefore requires a further press on the "F12" key to be acknowledged. Note: When an output is activated on the OTB module, the corresponding green indicator lamp "Q0" to "Q7" lights on the front panel of the module.

11 Working with Easergy files A project consists of a set of 2 files:

• An .eas (.ini) type file. • An .mdb file.

The .mdb file contains the configuration of networks, devices and channels. The .eas type file contains the project properties, and a reference to the .mdb file. The default extension is .eas, but it can be changed to .ini. To avoid data integrity problems, the .mdb file MUST NOT be modified manually. It may happen that the .eas type file has to be edited and modified outside of the Easergy Configurator. The main reason for this is the need to duplicate a project. In this case, proceed as follows:

1. Copy the 2 files (.eas type file and .mdb file). 2. Rename the 2 files (their names and locations may be different). 3. Edit the new .eas type file (e.g. using Windows Notepad) and change the

DBData key in the [Database] section to reference the new .mdb file. 4. Also change the PropjectDir key in the [General] section to make it

correspond to the directory of the new project to be created.

12 How to copy, cut and paste Easergy Configurator elements

The Copy and Cut actions can be performed on a network, a device or a channel. In accordance with Windows operating system standards, when one of these elements is copied or cut, it is stored in the clipboard. In the Easergy Configurator, if an element is placed in the clipboard, all the elements depending on it are also placed there:

• Pasting a network also pastes the devices and channels that depend on it.

• Pasting a device also pastes the channels that depend on it. As usual, the Cut operation does not actually delete the element cut. Physical deletion occurs when Pasting is performed. If a change is made to an element placed in the clipboard, the pasted element will take into account the change. Following a Cut/Paste operation, the element is still available in the clipboard, and it can be pasted again.

Step 1: Cut

In the Devices Explorer, select the element to be placed in the clipboard. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu and select Cut . When the element has been selected, you can also use the Edit-Cut menu or the <Ctrl>+<X> key combination. The icons of the cut element and dependent elements are changed to mark them as cut.

Step 1 (alternative): Copy

In the Devices Explorer, select the element to be placed in the clipboard. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu and select Copy . When the element has been selected, you can also use the Edit-Copy menu or the <Ctrl>+<C> key combination.

Step 2: Paste (after cutting)

In the Devices Explorer, select the element to which the element placed in the clipboard is to be attached. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu and select Paste . When the element has been selected, you can also use the Edit-Paste menu or the <Ctrl>+<V> key combination. Example : As a device is attached to a network, a network must be selected to enable pasting of a device. After pasting, the element is moved into the Devices Explorer window. If the paste operation is repeated, it is considered as a Copy and Paste operation, and the elements must be renamed.

Step 2 (alternative): Paste (after copying)

In the Devices Explorer, select the element to which the element placed in the clipboard is to be attached. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu and select Paste . When the element has been selected, you can also use the Edit-Paste menu or the <Ctrl>+<V> key combination. Following the Paste operation, the copied element and those depending on it have been duplicated. The word (copy) is automatically added to the name of the copied element. The names and properties of the duplicated elements can then be modified.

13 Saving an application It is strongly recommended to save the L500 application regularly to avoid losing the application data and all the graph elements that may have been customized, in the event of a hardware malfunction (e.g. PC hard disk inoperative). An application consists of two main elements: The *.eas and *.mdb files of Easergy Configurator :

- C:\Program Files\Schneider\Easergy Configurator\Application.eas - C:\Program Files\Schneider\Easergy Configurator\Application.mdb

The directory of the Easergy Supervisor application:

- C:\Program Files\Schneider\Easergy x.x\Usr\ Application To retrieve an L500 application in service, simply copy the files and directory mentioned above onto a USB key or a CD-ROM and store them preciously for future reinstallation if necessary. After reinstalling the software on new hardware, simply restore the elements mentioned above onto the hard disk of the PC in the same directory as their original location to retrieve the entire application. Note: Don't hesitate to make backups for every change in the application, specifying, if possible, the version and date of the change.

14 Frequently Asked Questions

14.1 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) What happens when a project is opened with a new ve rsion of the configurator? In that case the project undergoes an upgrading operation for the new version. This process is concealed and takes place after selecting the .eas or .ini file and before display of the Devices Explorer and List of Devices windows at opening. For greater security, it is recommended to make a backup copy of the Easergy Configurator project files. See chapter on Working with Easergy files for more information. Likewise, it is useful to keep a copy of the Easergy supervision application. This is because, following a change of Easergy Configurator version, it is necessary to do complete generation of the supervision application, and the fact of having a security copy makes it possible to retrieve elements that might have been customized, because complete generation will overwrite these. Why can the supervision application generated not b e found, even though the generation report mentions no error? In this case, there have probably been one or more error boxes during the generation phase. This occurs in the following cases:

• The export directory is currently being used and cannot be renamed or replaced.

• One or more files are currently being used in the export directory and cannot be renamed or replaced.

• The current user does not have access rights to the temporary directory or the export directory.

• The export directory defined in the .eas file is not correct (this occurs during the migration of a project to a new version of L500 Supervisor, because the export directory included the L500 version).

Solution: Close all software that could be using these files or directories (this probably concerns the Easergy Supervisor). Check the read-only attribute of these files and directories. If the problem relates to user rights, contact the system administrator. Why does the Properties box in the Easergy Configurator not close when the OK button is pressed? One or more properties are probably invalid:

• Invalid name (containing prohibited characters or empty). • Invalid property. • Mandatory property not entered.

In this case, pressing on the Apply button has no effect, and it remains available (when the properties are valid, the Apply button is shaded when the properties are validated). Solution: Check the properties values. Can the L500 Supervisor set the time remotely on de vices polled by communication exchanges? Indeed, this time setting based on the PC time is performed regularly. The time setting procedure depends on the type of transmission:

In telephone or GSM mode: Whenever communication is established.

On a permanent link: Once each day at the same time . On a non-permanent link: Once each day at the same time.

Time setting is provided for as a standard feature and takes place automatically. There is therefore no specific confi guration to be applied to the system for this purpose.

Why does the Easergy Supervisor request confirmation of the creation of a project when starting the backup of a generated app lication (old)? The name of the backup project is too long. Solution: Change the name of the project directory with Windows File Explorer so that the name does not exceed 12 characters. In what cases should Full Generation be used with the Easergy Configurator ? Full generation should be used in the following cases:

• At the very first generation. • Following a change of Easergy Configurator version. • Change of the archives export option. • Change in the pair of languages that can be used on the Supervisor side. • If you want to return to a "standard" Easergy supervision application.

NB: When you perform full generation, the Easergy supervision application is save under the name ProjectName_Old, then replaced. Any customized element in the Supervisor is lost but can be retrieved from the ProjectName_Old directory. In what cases should Partial Generation be used with the Easergy Configurator ? Configuration generation should be used when a project is modified; this concerns most cases:

• Addition, modification or removal of networks, devices or channels. • Modification of the properties of networks, devices or channels. • Modification of the Horn or Multistation option.

Why do the connection commands not work after insta llation of Easergy Supervisor ? The modem that you are trying to use has possibly not been installed under the operating system, or else the PC has not been restarted after installation. Another source of error is the fact that the modem driver is not supported by the Microsoft telephony management layer (TAPI). In that case, you will find the following error in the events observer when starting the Easergy Supervisor (e.g. for a device configured to use a modem on the COM2 port): 28/04/03,10:30:06,4,W,,16324,,9,AITAPI,IO,COM2,TAPI manages no modem on the COM2 serial port. Solution: Install the modem and restart the PC. If this does not correct the problem, contact the system administrator to upgrade the modem driver (install a version supported by Microsoft TAPI).

What can be done to have an Easergy Supervisor network view larger than the screen? The default network view is screen size. It is possible to enlarge it by modifying the properties of the corresponding mimic diagram. Now, the Easergy Supervisor allows you to have mimic diagrams larger than the window. In this case, horizontal and vertical scroll bars allow you to navigate in the view. Solution : You must have a key providing access to the "Administration" or "Development" profile to perform this operation.

1. Open the network view. 2. Press the <F6> key to display the menus. 3. Go into the Window-Properties menu. 4. Change the Width and Height properties of the mimic diagram (for

example, Width = 3000 and Height = 1500) and click on the OK button to confirm the new properties.

5. Go into the File-Save menu to save the changes made to the mimic diagram.

6. The size of the network view is changed, and graphic elements can be moved outside of the area normally visible on the screen.

Note: This change is permanent and will not be lost after stopping and restarting the Easergy Supervisor. On the other hand, if, after these changes, the supervision application is fully regenerated, the network view returns to its default size. Is it possible to view on the L500 the IEC101/104 e xchange frames between the L500 and the T200 devices?

1. Activate the IEC101/104 trace manager by opening the file: "C:\Program Files\Schneider\Easergy x.x\Usr\Project_Name\SVKER\IECTRC.cfg"

2. Change the end of the 3rd line of the file by replacing "OFF" with "ON": "iectrc=8000FFFF,2,4096,0,OFF" ---> "iectrc=8000FFFF,2,4096,0,ON"

3. Start the Supervisor and, once the project has been initialized, double-click on the following file to start the IEC101/104 trace analyser: "C:\Program Files\Schneider\EASERGY x.x\bin\kercom\dbgview.exe"

4. The IEC frames sent and received are then displayed in the analyser. Is it possible and necessary to modify the communic ation parameters on the L500 according to the type of medium used (Radio, R S232, etc.)? The default configuration is suitable in most cases, but it may be useful to change it in some specific cases. This is because the transmission media managed by the L500 may require customizing of the following communication time delays in some cases: - Message time out : Maximum waiting time for sending two successive frames when no reception by the remote terminal unit is detected. - Node time out : waiting time for the T200's reply before declaring a com error (-> invalidity). In RS232, the Node time out is fairly short, because this is merely a simple direct cable connection between devices. This in theory has no need to be modified relative to the standard configuration. On Radio and LL links, on the other hand, the Message time out and especially the Node time out must be adjusted in some cases. On a radio link, for example, transmission times may be longer because of certain radio set models which may require longer times for changeover to sending. These time delays can be customized on the L500 Supervisor as follows: 1. Start the Easergy Supervisor application. 2. Press F6 to display the menu. 3. Go into the Configure-Communication-Equipment menu, then double-click

on the device having a transmission medium whose parameters must be modified.

4. Modify the Message time out and Node time out parameters depending on the medium used, until you no longer obtain a communication error.

Note: The time delays will be saved permanently in the project until a new full or partial generation is performed. How to configure the Supervisor parameters for good continuous printing on a printer? First install the printer driver on your PC. With the L500 started, press F6 to display the Supervisor menu, then: Configure\Station\Printers menu:

- Choose a No. to define the printer to be used (e.g. 1). - Check the Enable option. - Choose Print to Printing spooler . - Select the Printer name to be used from the drop-down list. - Check ASCII Conversion .

Archives configuration menu, then Archive units\Archive\Log lists :

- Add a new log list (e.g. IMPCONS). - In the General tab, choose the printer No. to be used (e.g. 1, the same No. as that of the printer defined previously). - In the General tab, customize the print format to be used (e.g. #D/#M/#Y #h:#m:#s.#l #x #E #T #@A5 #N for formatting identical to that given in the archives view). - In the Event filter tab, check all the User actions (except "Execute program"), all the Alarm events and all the Bit changes . - In the Advanced tab, define #@A1,#@A2,#@A5 as attributes to be saved. - In the Filter Attributes tab, you can, if necessary, not print all the communication-related reports, by defining as Filter generated : [AND]#t!INC.STATUS. Note: The parameters not indicated remain identical to the default configuration.

What can be done so that text archives are not limi ted in size and so that the oldest data is not erased automatically whenever th e maximum archiving capacity is reached? The proprietary archives of the L500 Supervisor (text format) are designed to be limited to a maximum capacity of 10 MB. When the maximum capacity of the archives directory (10 MB) is reached, the oldest archive data are erased and replaced by the most recent data (FIFO). Customization is possible, allowing the oldest data to be saved in an archive directory external to the project. The archives transfer principle is as follows: The L500 continues saving archives in the standard archive backup directory, which is as follows: C:\Program Files\Schneider\Easergy x.x\Usr\Project_ Name\TH\ARCHIVE. But when the size of this directory exceeds the capacity of 10 MB, the old archives, instead of being erased, will be saved in the external archive backup directory as defined in the operating procedure below. Archive retrieval operation: Two variables are used to manage archive backup: - ARCHIVE.REMPL variable which gives an indication as a percentage of the archive filling rate. The percentage starts at 0% once this option has been introduced in the project, even if the project's TH directory is already at 10 MB (configurable default value). As soon as the variable reaches the value of 90% (configurable default value), the ARCHIVE.SAVE variable goes to value "1". - ARCHIVE.SAVE variable which changes to value "1" when the filling rate is reached. It is the change of this variable to "1" that triggers copying of the archive files in the specified external backup directory. Operating procedure for the establishment of archiv e backup: 1- Addition of internal variables:

Before doing this operation, it is recommended to make a copy of the Varexp.dat file.

2- Archive transfer configuration:

- With the L500 started, press F6 to display the Supervisor menu. - Go into the Archives configuration menu, then Archive units . - Click with the right mouse button on ARCHIVE and select Properties . - In the General tab, enter ARCHIVE.REMPL as Percentage full register . - In the General tab, enter the value 100 as Archive file size . - In the Back-up tab, check the Back-up archive files box. - In the Back-up tab, define ARCHIVE.SAVE as Triggering bit . - In the Back-up tab, define C:\ARCHIVE_L500 as Back-up folder . Note: In the example above, the archive backup directory has been defined to be: C:\ARCHIVE_L500 . You can choose a different directory name and location (of course, choose an archive transfer directory different from the project's TH directory).
