CAMERA/TRIPOD

This piece of technology allowed me to film my trailer so I could actually obtain the footage. I made effective use of composition by making sure people were on the right side of the camera and making effective use of rule of thirds by making sure everything was accurately positioned. I used the tripod in order to keep the camera still so that it didn’t give me any blurry shots. This kept everything rigid and still so that I got the perfect shots. I loosened the tripod in order to tilt the camera for a better effect. Below are some photos which I t0ok with the camera these were used I my ancillary products and shows some examples of how I used the camera.

ADOBE PREMIER ELEMENTS This is the software in which I used to edit and upload my film trailer. In this software I changed the lighting of the scene in order to get a better effect. I cropped clips which we didn’t need in order to obtain the best footage this was done by using the crop tool which allowed me to delete parts of a clip or a whole clip which I didn’t want.

I added non-diegetic sound into the scene to make it fast-paced and dramatic. This was done by downloading a copyright free YouTube clip which I then converted into an mp3 format which then allowed me to drag this into the software and trim the sound to the specific length I needed. I also added titles in order to unveil the horror happening in the trailer. This was done by me clicking the titles and text button and selecting the one I wanted for my trailer.

I also added transitions such as fade to black. This involved me going on to the transitions button and selecting the one which I thought was appropriate.

These are the various tools I have used on Adobe Premier Elements, the first image is a screenshot of the transitions I have used in my trailer. The main transition I used is dip to black which allows the once scene fade to black then another appears. This is a conventional transition for a horror trailer as it allows the action to be unveiled quickly and build up tension. To insert this transition I simply dragged it and placed it exactly where I needed it. The next screenshot is the title screens I used in my scene. This helps introduce the trailer to the viewer and unveil the horror which is going to take place. To add the title to the scene I simply dragged the one I wanted and simply place it into the exact location I wanted it to go. I then typed in the text box what I wanted to write so it could be displayed in the trailer. The next screenshot is how I edited the scene to make it appealing and more conventional to the horror genre. I made some of the scenes darker so that it created a better effect. I also made some of the scenes black and white so that the trailer had a better effect as the action unveiled.

BLOGGER

This is the software which I will producing my work on, this software has allowed me to make various pages in order to place specific pieces of work on to that specific page. It has allowed me to embed codes so that they can be viewed on my blog. For example YouTube clips and software's which I have used.

MICROSOFT PUBLISHER

This software has helped me create my ancillary products in a presentable format. This software has allowed me copy text and images from websites and my documents and paste them onto the document I am working on using the picture tool which allowed me to select the file from my documents and then paste it into the working document. This software allows me to have a border in which makes the work more presentable. It also allows me to get the perfect alignment with the layouts because it has lines which allow you to direct the image or font exactly in line with were you want it.

This is a very easy software to use and has allowed me to insert images and text into the document in order to make the presentations more visual and appealing. In order to get the document onto my blog I need to use Slideshare this has enabled me to upload the document onto the site then get an embed code which I can then copy onto my blog. Below is an example of the coding I have used on my blog which has enabled my documents to be visible.

This is an easy to use software which has enabled me to make professional documents which are presentable to the reader. In order to get this onto my blog I need to use a software called Slideshare which has enabled me to embed the code onto my blog so that the work that I have produced Is visible to the reader.

PHOTOSHOP I used Photoshop in order to edit the images for my ancillary products. In order to make my images creepier I needed to use the tools available. These tools allowed me to make my images more aesthetically pleasing and appealing to the audience. This software is easy to use and helped me get the effect I needed in my images.

Page 11: Technologies used

I have used the tools on Photoshop for this photo to make it appealing. I used the burn tool to make a shadow appear behind her to make the photo more mysterious. I also used this tool around her eyes in order to make them look evil and creepier. I used the brush tool in order to colour in the girls eyes so they were dark and made a strong horror effect.

I have used the tools on Photoshop to edit this photo in order to achieve a horror effect. I have used the burn tool on the walls to make mysterious shadows appear behind the girl to signify something bad is going to happen. I also used the burn tool to remove the stair banister which was featured in the image. I also altered the lighting and the contrasting of the colours to make everything darker and horrific. This helped made the image conventional to the horror genre as the darkness foreshadows what is going to happen.

This tool allowed me to move the image to exactly where I wanted it which helped me when I copied and pasted new images into the software.

This tool allowed me to brush different colours onto my image in order to get a better effect. I also used this tool around the staircase in order to create dark shadow effects around the girl. This tool is the burn tool and I used this in order to make things darker in the image and also remove anything unnecessary. I used this on the poster product to remove the staircase banister and to make the shadows look better.

This tool allowed to erase anything I didn’t want in my images in order to remove mistakes which I could then correct. This tool was used to blur the image slightly. I used this around the girls eyes to make them look creepier and more horrific.

This tool was used when I wanted to zoom into the image to fix very small mistakes or colour in very intricate and small parts of the image.

SURVEY MONKEY

This software allowed me to create surveys so that I could get feedback from my target audience. This allowed me to upload the questionnaire onto my blog via embed code and then ask people to fill out the questionnaire. Once I received enough results I could then take the data and analyse it. This software is very beneficial as it allows me to obtain the feedback I need about my work. This site allowed me to use a range of different question types in order to get a range of different answers which has benefited my research and evaluation.

YOUTUBE

In order to get sound into the trailer I had to find clips off YouTube. I had to find copyright free clips so that I could use them in my trailer. To get the clip onto my trailer I needed to convert it to an mp4 format. I did this by copying the video URL into the converter and then pressed convert. This allowed me to download the file into an mp4 format. Once I had the mp4 file I then dragged the file into adobe premier elements where I needed it to go. Sometimes the clip was too long so I had to trim the clip so that it was in the correct place.
