WIRE PROFILING UNIT: EXTENDED SERVICE LIFE
Mechanically, the wire profiling unit is ideally suited for use under tough operating conditions. A detailed damage analysis showed that the most common cause of damage is wear and tear of the sealing components. New food-grade lubricants are now used to comply with increasingly strict safety and quality requirements.
Improvements to the sealing components and the combination of materials used in exposed parts have increased the unit’s service life and resistance to contamination. Thanks to the change of lu-bricants, the wire profiling units now conform to requirements for components used in the filling sector.
Food-grade lubricants
A new synthetic grease is now used to lubricate the bearing and sealing components. It offers outstanding resistance to oxida-tion at high temperatures and a very high natural viscosity index throughout the filling’s entire service life. It is certified in accor-dance with NSF ISO 21469 (food-grade lubricants) and complies with FDA 21 CFR 178.3570 / NSF H1.
ADVANTAGES
• Extended service life• Lower operating costs• Reduced maintenance• Higher resistance to contamination-
related sealing lip damage• Profiling discs offer optimum resis-
tance to oxidation• Food-grade lubricants• New lubricants offer improved pro-
tection against wear and tear
RETROFITTING
Retrofitting is available for all existing high-speed and medium-speed canbody welders.
1 Sealing rings now made of fluoroelasto-mer. A dirt scraper provides additional protection to sealing lips.
2 Optimized O-ring groove for perfect sealing.
3 Profiling discs now made of corrosion-resistant steel with a carbide ring to prevent corrosion damage.
