Bundy’s Childhood

• Born as Theodore Robert Cowell• Born November 24, 1946• Bundy was raised for many years thinking his

grandma was his mom and his mom was his sister. He did not find out the truth until late high school or early college.

• No one knows who his biological father is.• He was violent starting at age 3.

Childhood continued

• Bundy’s grandfather (who could also be his real father) tortured animals and Bundy found pleasure in cutting up animals with knives.

• Bundy was the Vice President of his Methodist church.

• In high school he was a peeping tom and he became a shoplifter.

• He majored in Psychology. • He volunteered at a suicide crises center.• He was way into politics. (republican)

THE ONE WHO GOT AWAYCarol LaRonch got lucky. She is the only girl known to have escaped Ted Bundy. When he saw her she fit his likings. Long dark hair parted just right. Thin with a strong face frame. But little did he expect she was smarter than he had hoped. She fought and fought and fought, and she escaped getting kidnapped. She testified. Could you look in the eyes of the one who tried to kill you, the one who killed so many before, and tell a jury what he did, only for him to escape again? Would you risk becoming his special project just to save someone you don’t even know?

Some Say House tools.. Some Say Weapons..

Ted Bundy found many ways to torture girls but he used all the same tools and always the same idea. Most wouldn’t notice unless told, all of Bundy’s victims fit the same profile. From the frame of their faces to the parting of their hair.

Innocent? That’s what he claims.

• Bundy tried over and over to prove his “innocence” but the truth was beyond obvious.

• This man would stick foreign objects, sharp objects, and anything painful inside these poor girls.

• He would beat them so bad they wouldn’t be identifiable.

• He would bite them and keep their heads around his home for tokens so he could always see his victims.

• Yet he tried to claim innocence.

The Trial

• Needless to say he thought he was going to get away with it.

• He sat there smiling as Carol LaRonch testified.

• As all the evidence pointed to him he thought he himself (he was representing himself) could out smart the court and fool the jury.

• But we all know that just wasn’t the case.

Guilty?!?!

• Ted Bundy has a harsh reality. He is found guilty and he is utterly appalled.

• He cannot believe that he did not win this time. He escaped jail two times and I guess after getting out and murdering again people realized he was never going to stop.

• After confessing to so many murders he was still not put to death. After he escaped the second time he murdered 12 year old Kimberly Ann Leach.

Bye Bye Bundy

• For that murder and that murder alone he was sentenced to the death penalty.

• He was sentenced to the electric chair.• Ted Bundy was Executed on January 24, 1989

at 7:16 A.M.

Jane’s Addiction

• This band clearly had a lot of hate for Ted Bundy.

• They had lyrics like “sex is violent”. – When you hear that what do you think of? Do you

think of rape? Addiction? Control? Power? Hate? Destruction of another human being?

• They say things like “naked and disfigured”.– Does that make you think of a nice well put together

girl? We hope not. But that’s who these girls became.

Jane’s Addiction

• Jane’s Addiction had very strong feelings about this subject as many do. They chose to put it in a way that they hoped would get the message across of what an addict will do.

• Sex can be a drug. Anything can be. – To some sex is just sex.– To some it’s a way to bind love.– To some it’s a control mechanism.– To some it’s an addiction.– To some it’s a disease.
