Report Structure Title page Abstract/summary Introduction Methodology Findings/results Analysis and discussion Summary and conclusions Recommendations References/bibliography Appendices 4. Abstract Mehran Sunny 12-4461 5. Abstract An abstract is a brief summary. An in-depth analysis. of a research article, thesis, review, conference proceeding. Help the reader in quickly find the paper's purpose. 6. Abstract: 7. Abstract: Content Critique Examples Background: Used in universities, markets, offices. Due to its small size and weight can be use in each and every industry and market. Purpose & Focus for important message, news and instructions. Display simple SMS of 160 length and 5 messages at a time. To transfer data or information. i.e. NEWS , weather situation , current currency rate, etc. Five messages are displayed one by one. 8. Abstract: Content Critique Examples Methods: Displays on DOT-MATRIX DISPLAY GSM module SIM900 PIC microcontroller USART protocol Controlled by AT- COMMANDS The GSM module SIM900 extract messages from SIM card. SIM900 send them to microcontroller through USART module. PIC microcontroller displays it on the DOT-MATRIX DISPLAY . SIM900 is controlled by AT- COMMANDS to read or delete messages from the SIM. 9. Abstract: Content Critique Examples Result : Own Algorithm. Upon receiving new message old is deleted. Password Protected If the password doesnt match, that message is simply discarded. Upon receiving a new message the oldest is deleted by AT-COMMANDS. Conclusion : Very low Power Consumption Can be use anywhere for announcement. Very economical. With very low cost and power dissipation. So can be use in any industry or office in order to inform the people. 10. AWAIS ANWAR 12-4414 Introduction 11. Introduction: Content Critique Examples Review of past results so in example you can see that the past reviw of the thingss related to of project is mentioned and we know this is explained Traditionally, LEDs have been either used to display a static message or to scroll the message through a wired communication Your research mentioned what they have investigated about project. clearly mentioned content:summrize the important relvent reseach Arduino to implement our project but it wouldnt comply with the system if we change its specifications. So finally we reached to select our controller. The last task was to make the system wireless implementing it through the GSM technology. 12. Introduction: Content Critique Examples Your research No relvent research, but still made the reader understand, relevant research is made in not in inroduction content:desrible problem investigated We can use a display formed by LEDs arranged in a matrix for helping people to communicate and notify large number of people. Above example shows the whole problem is discussed in it for helping people to communicate and notify large number of people Mentioned what they have investigated about project. clearly mentioned content:summrize the important relvent reseach why not develop our own system which can display information what we want to display on it like when a person has to communicate to multiple persons at a moments notice some delay occurs . 13. M USMAN 12-4512 Methodology 14. IT IS THE MAIN BODY OF THE REPORT .IT INCLUDES HOW WE STUDIED THE PROBLEM AND PERFORMED THE RESEARCH WORK AND PROCEDURE.IT ALSO INCLUDES THE DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF MATERIAL,SUBJECT OR EQUIPMENT USED IN ONE,S REPORT METHODOLOGY SHOULD BE WRITTEN IN SUCH A WAY THAT IT PROVIDES THE READER WITH THE FULL UNDERSTANDING OF PROJECT,S PROCEDUE I-E WHAT WE USES AND HOW IT,S WORKING.......... Methodology 15. Methodology Advice Critique Examples It should be divides intodifferent sections In this report methodology has been divided into different sections. 1. Clients requirement 2. meetings with client 3. full explanation functionality it should include the whole i-e detailed description of work it should be in chronological order this report follows the chronological order Use past tense this report is pretty good in this aspect things are explained sequentially It explains the clear use of Equipment , moreover each aspect of working is defined Software and hardware design Past tense hase been used 16. BILAL AHMAD 12-4286 Results 17. MEANS THE TESTING OF PROJECT FOR DIFFERENT POSSIBILLITIES AND CHECKING THE ERROR POSSIBBILLITIES AND ACCURACY OF PROJECT. IT MOST PROBABLY IS ACCOMPAINED WITH TABLES, FIGURES ,GRAPHS. Result of fyp report? 18. Results Advice Critique Examples it should compare the values for different possibilities this report is not good in this aspect 1. It is explaining that project works best for 10X5 resolution not explaining the values for which it was tested it should show comparison tables and figures these tables are missing in this report the tests performed in this report eg,scrolling test, display test and communication test should be compared for different values in the form of table which is not in this report 19. Results Advice Critique Examples it should not discuss the errors that have least significance this report is good in this aspect it just talked about moderate speed or communication of sim900 with microcontroller was possible it is not highlighting the minor errors that might come across during this procedure 20. ABDULLAH RIAZ 12-4528 Conclusion 21. BY CONCLUSION WE SIMPLY MEAN TO WRAP UP OR TO FINISH, IT GIVES A FINAL SHAPE TO THE WHOLE EXPLANATION OF REPORT. CONCLUSION IS SIMILER TO ABSTRACT BUT IN CONCLUSION, RESULTS ARE CONCLUDED IN QUANTITATIVE WAY. Conclusion: 22. Conclusion Advice Critique Examples Outline the success of your project compared to the objectives: You should remind the reader what the original problem to be solved was. Restate the specific objectives of the project and undertake a critical analysis of how well these objectives have been met. In the given fyp report , they are just mentioning the success of their project without comparing them with objectives, which is not a good approch. Suggest further work for your research area: If you had ideas that you didnt have time to explore or implement, this is your chance to tell the reader. What u can do, If they gave him a chance in future. Instead of using bi-colour LEDs, RGB LEDs can be used The size of LED can be extended Different languages can be introduced for a global use. 23. Conclusion Advice Critique Examples Figures or Tables It should not contain any kind of figure or tables The conclusion of this report is ideal in this aspect there is no table or figure in the conclusion of this report. Avoid use of abbreviations and special words: We should not use abbreviations or special words in conclusion This report is pretty good in this aspect...............it does not include any special words or abbreviation. . 24. Conclusion Advice Critique Examples Summarise the most important findings In the conclusion of our fyp report, it is good practise to summarise the important findings our report. In the given Fyp report , they are just skipping that point.
