WELCOME TO ATHENS

Our journey starts in Athens, Greece’sbustling capital.

After checking in and freshening up, thegroup will meet their tour leaders andfellow travelling companions.

A welcome meeting will take placeaccompanied by a light lunch and anintroductory briefing to the program.

Our first day will begin by exploring theancient city of Athens. What better way todiscover the city than with a scavengerhunt!

The hunt will end at asecret location where our welcoming partywill take place.

On our second day in Athens, we will enjoy afun and informative tour of the Acropolis andthe award winning Acropolis Museum, followedby a walk through the authentic neighborhoodsof Monastiraki and Plaka.

We will then visit the impressive coastline ofAttica to have our first introduction to Archelon,the Sea Turtle Protection Society of Greece.

On day 3 we will depart to thePeloponnese peninsula and KyparissiaBay, the second biggest Mediterraneanreproduction habitat of the CarettaCaretta turtle.

For the next 4 days we will work in the field alongside the research team of Archelon.

Since we will be there during nesting season ourwork will include:

• Morning surveys to locate, mark and encloseadult turtle tracks and nests

• Night surveys to observe and tag nestingfemales

• Working with injured turtles

thing we will be doing.

The region is filled with historical sites,incredible natural beauty and profound history

and culture

We will visit: Ancient Olympia

Atmospheric NafplioArcadia mountain region

The Ancient site of Mycenae The impressive 13th Century Castles of Pylos

& Methoni

And of course…

We will be able to relax and enjoy the seaand the unending sandy beach of thebeautiful Kyparissia Bay.

DAY 7 - ROAD TRIP

TEEN ODYSSEY

On day 7 we will head to central Greece, bycrossing the incredible Rio-Antirrio bridge,widely considered an engineering masterpiece.

We will enjoy lunch at one the most scenic andatmospheric destinations of the Greek mainland,the seaside village of Galaxi.

In the afternoon we will visit AncientDelphi, home of the Delphi Oracle. Wewill enjoy a guided tour through thearchaeological site and the Delphimuseum.

Later we will visit the mountain village ofArachova, which nests picturesquely atthe foot of Mt. Parnassos.

Departing from Delphi we will head towards the port ofAgios Konstantinos and sail to Alonissos island.

Alonissos is a breathtaking destination with lusciousmountains and turquoise waters. It is an undiscoveredjewel!

The island hosts the National Marine Park of Alonisos &Northern Sporades, the first designated marine park inGreece and the largest in Europe.

During the next days we will work with MOM - TheHellenic Society for the Study and Protection of theMonk seal and Dolphin.MOM’s mission is the protection and promotion ofthe coastal and marine environment of Greece. 

We will work for the Northern Aegean DolphinProject, a research project for the recording andmonitoring of dolphin populations in the wider areaof the National marine Park of Alonissos.

As part of MOM’s research team we will beactively involved in daily field surveys at sea,with MOM’s research boat collecting andprocessing important data on dolphinpopulations.

During our stay on Alonissos we will work withthe local community in areas that they haveidentified as critical for the island’s well being.These activities will include beach cleaningand maintenance of the waterfront as well asinland infrastructure projects.

No trip to Greece would be complete withoutexperiencing its food and music.

With the guidance of the staff of the CulturalAssociation of Alonissos, we will be introduced totraditional island recipes with a hands-on cookinglesson.

We will also explore the steps and rhythms ofGreek folk dances and discover the essence ofGreek culture.

Our journey is coming to an end. On day 15we will head back to Athens for amemorable farewell party.

TEEN ODYSSEY Safety

Our commitment to safety is our first priorityduring all of our activities.

Our leaders are highly trained and certified in firstaid and CPR. There will be one leader for every 6teenagers with a maximum of 20 students.

Licensed Luxury tour busses will be usedthroughout the trip.

The trip is covered by commercial general liabilityinsurance including medical evacuation &repatriation.

Accommodation is of great importance tous and our guests well being. We carefully select qualityaccommodations throughout the trip.

TEEN ODYSSEY FoodThe Mediterranean diet is considered tobe the healthiest in the world.

Our meals will be full of fresh localingredients combined with traditionalrecipes from all over Greece.

We will have 3 meals per day andhealthy snacks in midday and theafternoon.

This trip offers a total of 60 communityservice hours.

The participants will be awarded the“Certificate of Service” by bothArchelon and MOM.
