Children are introduced to speech and drama in an enjoyable and creative environment. Our classes provide a supportive, fun environment where students can be creative, expressive and improve their communication proficiency. At the end of the course, students will participate in a short play performance to make full use of the skills learnt.

Speech – voice projection, articulation, tone & pitch etc
Music, Movement & Drama – mime, gestures, actions, body language etc
Communication skills -Discussion skills, listening skills, idea sharing, reading aloud of literature.
Duration: 1.5hr per session, 2 sessions a Week, 6 Week Course, Total 18 Hours.

Successful Writing is an invaluable writing skills programme designed for students who want to improve their writing.
Each lesson incorporates carefully scaffolded activities that will help children make their writing more expressive, more organized and more convincing to the reader.

Write interesting compositions on a variety of different themes
Organize and sequence their ideas
Structure their writing into paragraphs
Use a variety of different sentence structures
Write with greater accuracy, using a variety of tenses and grammatical forms
Plan, draft and edit their writing
Use a wider and more expressive vocabulary
Use their imagination to write creatively
Secondary This Speaking programme aims to give students a basic grounding in public speaking and presentation skills. Lessons are planned with a focus on developing practical techniques and incorporating interactive and fun activities to promote an active and independent learning experience.

Structuring a speech
Express and communicate ideas and thoughts through a wide range of materials and tools.
This course will help students to become familiar and develop the skills needed to be successful in the HKDSE examination.
Reading Identify the main theme, key details, contextual meaning of the text and interpret the writer’s feelings and opinion.
Writing Write text using appropriate tone, style and register and the salient features of different genres in a structured and logical order.
Listening Understand and identify the key details of a range of spoken texts, interpret speakers’ feelings, views, attitudes and intentions.
Speaking Produce coherent and structured speeches and participate in group discussions with ideas effectively, clearly presented and delivered with accurate pronunciation, appropriate pace, volume, intonation, stress, eye contact and body language.
This course aims to build upon the existing grammar knowledge of students. It provides a review of the major parts of speech, punctuation and practice of the target language to improve the accuracy of students' English grammar. This is an interactive course, games and quizzes ensure that students have fun while reinforcing their grammar.
Level: F4 - F6 Duration: 1.5hrs a session, 2 sessions per week, 6 week course, Total 18 hours. Fee: $5,200 / Course or $950 per week
Moving on to Secondary school can be challenging for many students. This course prepares P6 students for the English medium of instruction in Secondary schools. Help take the stress out of entering Form 1 by strengthening all aspects of their English language skills and introducing material and topics covered in Form 1.

About Us Abbey English Centre has a western management team that possesses over 15 years experience in Teaching, Curriculum Planning and Course Material Design in Hong Kong. Maximum 6 students in class. All of our instructors are well-qualified and highly experienced Native English Teachers (NETs) with a First Degree and the qualification of Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).
