CONSTRUCTION

"Latvijas Energoceltnieks" (LEC) was established in 1992 and is among leading construction companies in Latvia holding remarkable international experience. The company currently employs around 400 people. LEC gained its initial experience by working abroad where it has been performing orders in the energy, construction and telecommunications markets of Germany, as well as Georgia, Croatia, Malta, Kenya, Kazakhstan, Russia and other countries since 1992. Since its foundation, LEC has implemented numerous large-scale infrastructure projects in Latvia. Today LEC is among leading construction companies in Baltics with well-established market positions in construction, energy and telecommunications construction areas.

In 2014 LEC restarted operations in Germany and Scandinavia. The company has a subsidiary company in Germany - LEC Construction International GmbH, which was established in 2014 for business development on the German market.

LEC provides full project lifecycle services (turn-key projects), where engineering, carried out by own specialists, plays an important role. Since 2003 the company has been providing engineering services delivering a full range of services starting from an idea to its implementation. The broad range of services and professionalism allow performing the work requested by customers at the top quality level and within the agreed deadlines.

ENERGY SECTOR – OUR PERFORMANCE

330 kV substation Ventspils330 kV switchgear with 5 double busbar feeders, a 330/110 kV autotransformer and shunt reactors.

330/110 kV substation in JelgavaConstruction of 330 kV switchgear with seven double busbar feeders – two 330/110 kV autotransformers with shunt reactors, four 330 kV line bays and a bus coupler.

SUBSTATIONSLEC has accomplished numerous projects essential for the energy system of Latvia and has implemented most of the recent renovation projects of 110 kV and 330 kV network substations in the position of the main contractor.

POWER TRANSMISSION LINESDuring the recent years the intensity of the reconstruction and construction of high-voltage lines of the transmission grid has increased. Every year LEC replaces a high number of supports in 110 kV and 330 kV power transmission lines and installs several hundreds of kilometers of high-voltage line conductors and OPGW wires.

MEDIUM-VOLTAGE EQUIPMENT AND CABLE LINESA high number of medium voltage switchgear equipment has been installed and several hundreds of kilometers of medium and low voltage overhead lines and cable lines have been constructed over many years. New 110 kV and 330 kV cables have been laid in Riga, at Plavinas HPP and at other infrastructure sites.

COMBINED HEAT AND POWER PLANTS (CHPP) AND DH NETWORKSActing as the main contractor, LEC has taken part in the construction of the biggest CHPPs in Latvia where power distribution equipment and pipelines were constructed and heat production and power generation equipment was installed.

HYDROPOWER PLANTS (HPP)The best experts of the industry who have gained experience by performing the repairs of the biggest HPPs hydro power units and generators are employed by LEC. LEC has acted as the main contractor in the reconstruction of gates and cranes.
