Bridget Robins, the KidsCan StandTall Coordinator from Pukeatua School in the Wellington Region, recently provided us with the below feedback on being one of our partner schools:

“KidsCan StandTall has helped our school in so many ways. The children love the raincoats. We’ve given them out to all the kids without coats and they are also used by our sports teams on rainy days. As a classroom teacher I’ve seen the smiles on children’s faces when they’ve been given KidsCan StandTall food to see them through the day.

Pukeatua School really appreciates all the support from KidsCan StandTall and its sponsors.”

THE TRADITION CONTINUED

Since the ‘StandTall’ expo held on the 18th of February, 30 ‘StandTall Cadets’ from Robertson Road School, Mangere Central School, Weymouth Intermediate School, Randwick Park School and St Annes Catholic School have been chosen to take part in the programme and have had their first excursion - a four night camp at the Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre (OPC) in Tongariro!

OPC strives to develop people’s potential through outdoor education and adventure. While away the cadets enjoyed tramping, tree climbing, team building/problem solving, map reading, caving, rock climbing, raft building, a visit to the snow at Whakapapa, bushwalking, abseiling, and overnight camping. The kids all had a fantastic experience and are looking forward to their next excursion; be sure to keep an eye out for updates …
