Saving the Planet• An Asia Pacific communications project
dedicated to the UN DESD, 2005 –2014.
• The project aims to produce, distribute and promote a TV series that will showcase innovative ESD activities that can inspire others.
• It will also strengthen the communication capacity of national and local institutions engaged in ESD.
• With funding from ACCU / Japan Funds in Trust
The first STP series• Open call for entries: STP website,
through email circulars and through ESD networks in Asia
• Entries: Online submission or by email; over 500 entries received
• Selection: Panel of 6 judges from Asia, ESD experts and professionals; ranked and selected entries through specially designed online voting system
Entries judged on..• Relevance to goals and objectives of ESD• Innovation shown in project design,
approach and methodology• Accomplishments in project
implementation• Cost effectiveness: how the project has
optimised on limited resources• Replicability (can others facing similar
situations easily adapt this approach?)• Visual appeal: to be featured in a TV series,
how much the project offers in terms of filmable content
